Moen is sending free parts Yes, For $25 OverNite I would get them five days later. NO. I will have spare parts when they finally come. I went to a good plumbing store got the part., fixed the valve, You saved my Memorial Day weekend Thank You. 👍
That is great @thomasosman670. Is there anything worse than a malfunctioning faucet, especially on a holiday weekend and/or if you're having guests over. Glad I could be of help!
Your video helped show me how to put the broken extensa faucet back together.. Now I don’t have to listen to my wife complaining about having to do the dishes in the tub! LOL! Getting alittle better shot of the retaining spring ring position in the retaining nut and the plastic pivot piece in the handle would have helped, but I finally figured it out. The directions from Moen were almost useless!
I have a Peerless faucet and I e-mailed them about issues with inserting the nozle back into place after having clean the aerator and also that its body is jammed so it won't rotate anymore. Well, they sent me a new one, I received it a few days ago. All they ask is the date of purchase, and I gave only the year which was in 2014 since I did not remember the exact date. And that was fine. Thanks to you, I now have a new faucet.
Thank you so much for posting this. I had been fussing with handle reassembly for over an hour and yes, the same stupid plastic piece broke (this is my second repair).
Excellent! I figured if I'm not the only one who has this faucet and its "features" It sure beats bringing in a plumber to do a fix that is relatively easy to do.
Great Video Sean! I have the exact same faucet with the exact same problem! My faucet has to be at least 8 to 10 years old and NEVER gave me a problem till now! Thanks to you and your informative video I will contact Moen and see if they are still Gracious enough to help me out like they did you! I will post any updates! Thanks Sean!
@@SeanMoenkhoff "UPDATE" called Moen and just like you said...they honored their Lifetime Warranty and are sending me all the above parts for free! Thanks again Sean!
@@SeanMoenkhoff "Final Update" Hey Sean! Received my parts yesterday and installed it today as per your instructions! The only thing I did wrong was that I installed the cartridge 180 degrees off, so to the left was COLD and to the right was HOT so I removed the cartridge and turned it 180 degrees and all is back to normal thanks to you and MOEN for standing behind their products! "Buy it for looks, buy it for Life" Thanks again Brother! John...
Thanks so much for your post! Very helpful! Moen should place it on their site. I got it all on...and working but the handle is wobbly. Need to figure that out.
I'm glad the video helped. I've had to work on this faucet several times to replace various hardware components. Each time Moen has said the failure is more than likely caused by the handle in that it is heavier than most.
@SeanMoenkhoff Sean when you mistakenly inserted the handle connector into the handle adapter backwards, it help me figure what I was doing wrong. I was not clipping the connector to the adapter, I placed the connector down inside the adapter (wrong). Thank you for this great video!!
Hopefully it eventually broke loose for you. Sometimes hard water build up can cause things to seize and make them almost impossible to loosen. I'm not sure if this is your case or not but I've been there many times.
Hi Michael, Check underneath back behind the sink. If it is supposed to extend then the hose may be tangled up in stuff or the "stop block" may have gotten stuck. This happened to mine several times.
Really? That would seem odd. Most handles that I've ever dealt with have some sort of screw holding the handle to the rest of the assembly. For me, mine was under the "Moen" plastic logo cover.
I figured it out. Mine has a circular cover that pops off. Slightly different design. I’m probably just going to swap out the entire faucet, could use an upgrade.
FYI mine’s a Morn extensa but the little cap doesn’t have a Moen logo on it - it’s the same colour as the handle (mine is brushed stainless) & it’s almost invisible. Also, I would advise putting the stopper in the drain, or laying a towel over the drain so as not to lose small parts. Thank you
@@SeanMoenkhoff Well guess what? I did find the screw area after I popped off the Moen symbol! I'll go to Lowe's and get the kit part. Then have my son-in-law repair it. I'm a widow. Some jobs I really don't want to learn how to do. Thks for your suggestions.
Well, I can say I generally had to replace handle hardware every so often because my Extensa had heavy handle. However, Moen was always there for me with their warranty.
Not a bad video. I appreciate the steady camera shot. But why in the hell do people feel the need to play background music on a DIY instructional video?! Ditch the tunes! Adding the music is less clever than you think.

Thank yoy Bro, you helped me fixed my Faucet, you the only one on UA-cam showed me all I needed to know .

Glad I could be of help. In many cases the manufactures have lifetime warranties and you just have to reach out to them.
Great instructions, much better than the limited ones Moen sends with the replacement parts.
I'm glad you liked them and hopefully it helped for you!
Looked up a lot of cartridge replacement videos. You have the exact one I did so it was the best video I found. Thanks. Helped a lot!!
Glad it helped Neil. That is one of the reasons I made it.
Thanks!
Thank you so much for the Thanks @tomaubin6853. I really appreciate it!
I thank you for the video.
I was able to go right to the point where I was stuck.
Three minutes later I was done 👍
Glad it helped Michaelyah.

Thanks. I try to add a little humor to my videos when I can.

Nice video btw! I used to work as a maintenance man in a nursing home. Repaired too many faucets and toilets to count lol.
Thanks for the tip and I'm glad you liked the video.

Glad it helped! Your handle hardware may be loose, misaligned or needing to be replaced. I hope this helps in your wobbly handle quest.

Thank you very much. The instructions I received were not very good. 4:46 in to the video and I had my answer.

I'm glad it helped you out. Mistakes are good to share so others can learn!
Plumbers grease helps keep corrosion under control for a long time. Also keeps things moving freely, smoothly.
Great advice. I never thought of using something like that. I've used electrical grease on car battery terminals for the exact same reason.
Learn something new everyday or try to!
Very helpful thanks 👍
Glad it helped @pasijoseful
The top screw isn't coming off. I've tried unscrewing it and pulling it off with pliers. Nothing worked.

Question my faucet hose won’t even come out it’s stuck
Hi Michael, Check underneath back behind the sink. If it is supposed to extend then the hose may be tangled up in stuff or the "stop block" may have gotten stuck. This happened to mine several times.
Mine doesn’t have a set screw. Not a clue how it comes apart

When you put the black piece in, it was on camera!
Thanks for the comment Sarah.
My Moen faucet does not have a screw in the handle. How do I get that off?
My screw was under the "MOEN" plastic logo on the underside of the handle. I had to pop that soft plastic logo off. What model of faucet do you have?

No problem and glad the you found the screw. Sometimes manufacturers can be sneaky hiding those things.
