I’m 64 years old. Never in my entire life have I known or met any woman who hasn’t endured being sexually harassed at least once. Never. Once. Not even my Mom. Or any member of my family.
Ditto. Age 49 in the UK. You got me pondering my own experiences. Supposedly mild verbal harassment like "You should hire her, she's got good legs" from a chef walking past me having an interview for a greeter's job inside a restaurant. Then in an office, a male colleague a few years older than me, but same paygrade and role said, "I thought I saw you at the train station on Friday night around midnight." I said, no, wasn't me. "Oh I think it was you, short skirt, knee-length boots. You looked like you were working hard. Did you make good earnings? I mean it as a compliment - you could charge a lot" - from a colleague in my office in front of 20 other staff - no-one said anything, so I said nothing. He would make random comments like that a lot. He would also stand over my desk while I worked and try and have conversations with me while I was actually taking calls. Open plan office, everyone saw it going on for months. Because no-one said anything, I figured I must be overly sensitive or exaggerating how creepy it was - basically gas-lighting myself! He was fired for something else and I confided in another male colleague how glad I was he'd gone and explained the harassment. He said he felt bad for not realising when it was happening right in front of him, but that I should have spoken-up. I had been getter louder and louder, asking him to leave me desk and also alerted my supervisor that he was interfering with my work for weeks - But I was told, that's just Stuart being Stuart.... Then there's the unwanted touching. A friend's boyfriend walked up to me at a party and just pulled my top completely open, because he wanted to see if they were buttons or popper closures holding it together?! And whilst working in a bookstore - of all places - a customer I was helping leaned over the counter, and said, you've come untucked. My jumper had ridden up a little, exposing my midriff, and he just reached out and grabbed my belly?! I mean - why? All horrid, but mild compared to two assaults from people I knew and trusted. Those encounters barely scratch the surface - just some specific incidents that are still with me from age 17 onwards - ridiculous what we have to put up with during our lives. I'm certain every woman has a catalogue of inappropriate comments, unwanted touching and worse in their history. Just awful it still goes on, and that women continue to have to put all the work in to try and stop it.😵💫
I wonder where the screen shots of messages came from. I am reminded of Tyrion Lnnister's man Bronn. He was loyal to the highest bidder. Did Ms. B Lively's team find the smear campaign and double the payment for disclosure?
If this can happen to a star like B. Lively, whose husband, R. Reynolds, is one of the top male Hollywood stars, imagine how any random unknown woman in the business is treated.
If this could happen to Blake Lively, who in her own right is a top Hollywood star, imagine what other women, regardless of their career or star status, put up with on the regular..... her whole family is impacted by this, I wish them all healing and peace as this winds through the courts.
I don't really know who she is beyond being married to Ryan but I too saw these articles.I didn't read any of them but got the vibe.I had never seen articles about before and all of a sudden she was this horrible, horrible person. Now I know why..😢
If you’re aware at all about the way Marilyn Monroe was portrayed back in the day, you understand there are mechanisms in place designed to protect the patriarchy. Also, we need to stop putting these people on a pedestal. THEY ARE NOT REAL SUPERHEROES. THEY’RE ACTORS.
@SocialistBoomer As a Boomer myself and with a long career in the film industry. First of all “actors” are people, human beings, and right now we’re speaking about Women!! The film industry is rife with sexual harassment and sexual abuse. I’ve experienced sexual harassment countless times and sexual assault three times on the job in my younger days on set. The fact these men are finally being accused is because it’s the first time anyone decided to do something about it. When it’s someone like me or another crew member it gets swept away. These guys more than likely operate like this all the time. I hope the women and men involved in this despicable plot to take down and “bury” Blake Lively get exactly what’s coming to them. I can guarantee you crew members will speak up about what they saw happen wth Blake when hair or makeup were present.
Actually, it's worse than that. These are the men who know better than to say "not all men." These are the men who know that by saying "men need to do the work to unpack their toxic traits" that they will be celebrated. But anyone who makes 70% of their identity about protecting others in some specific way... is almost always abusing their community in some way. When people make themselves about protecting women from other men or from trans folks, or protecting children from gay people or from a world without "family values".... they're almost always building themselves up as a trusted authority so that people look the other way when they abuse that trust.
But now we have an answer for them : Gisele Pelicot. Ok, still not ALL men, but by all the hells - an awful lot of 'em will grab the opportunity if they get it!
That was the part that got to me. All these texts between these two women high fiving each other about how their smears are going and then completely unironically one says to the other how sad it is that it was women (meaning the social media posters, not themselves) going after another woman like this.
Yeah it’s sort of surreal. These are seriously like cartoon villains. AND THEN to actually be so good at their job, that they flat out KNOW they can’t say ‘we will bury her’ As they are literally saying it, in writing with ‘imagine if this got out’ brain explodes…. W.t.f.? Like is one of them secretly an ally conspiring with Blake for the insurance payout!? Cuz…. I’m calling right now, this is gonna be the largest sexual harassment judgement in us history. At least until Clarence Thomas and Bret kavenaugh have a crack at it and reduce the jury award.
Thank you for doing this video Hawk. I saw unflattering stories all over the media about Blake Lively too. I was giving her the side eye after a while. The reason is Blake is married to actor Ryan Reynolds who owns his own digital marketing firm. Blake’s older sister Robyn was a teen 80s actress. My point is Blake is a veteran in the entertainment industry through her acting work and family ties. She knows the power of marketing and branding. I could not understand reports of her alleged bad behavior. I thought maybe Blake was going through something emotionally. If the smear campaign against Blake is proven true, I hope she gets justice.
I was so confused and seemed like something went sideways. I bought into it a little more so because I felt weird about that book and movie. Full disclosure I didn’t read or watch either. I just feel some sort of way about domestic abuse movies, shows, etc.
@ I saw the movie on my Netflix recommendations yesterday. I am on the fence about watching it. Especially after hearing about the lawsuit Blake has filed.
@ Same. I should watch it so I can form a full opinion on it for the sake of discussion, but I also feel that everything surrounding it was such a spectacle that I am already really biased. I can relate to domestic abuse but something it just rubs me the wrong way.
I couldn't understand the Blake smears. I didn't see a "mean girl" I saw a reporter who didn't have a great interview. Celebs on a press junket are notoriously a little punchy, exhausted and moody like having a classroom of middle schoolers and the press are a series of substitute teachers. I saw someone who failed to build rapport and had poor management of their time or questions. There are miles of footage of two men being interviewed and cutting up the way Parker and Blake did. Why single out Blake as mean? Parker was there too. I am not a huge fan but I do know she is smart and experienced. I think the public is fickle. I heard people act like her wearing flowers was bad or marketing her drinks company was bad over and over. To me that smacked of getting told how to react. I don't think either were in bad taste. She is an actress with a life and other projects. Is she supposed to be in mourning because the movie confronts serious topics? It felt strange, forced and out of proportion. As did the pushing of Justin as a "great guy". He may be. I'd never heard of him. I saw one clip of him speaking in promotion for the film. What I did see was tons of people repeating and pushing how nice he is. 🤷 Which always makes me wonder why do you need to tell me how nice someone is? Also is it really impossible to believe that someone can say the right nice things in press situations AND be different off camera or at work? Most of the assholes I worked with could be nice in front of witnesses or people who would call them out on their behavior.
Who's we? What happened to Blake doesn't erase her own terrible behavior. Her and Ryan had their wedding at a slave plantation! They're not good people.
And this right here is the damn problem! Only one person has spoken yet it seems the other is already deemed guilty. So should we continue believing the lying manipulation used to get those college kids expelled from Penn at the height of MeToo!? You know the same woman who just admitted this year that she LIED?!?!?! All women are not to be believed especially when the privilege of such accusations favors women. I hope none of y’all have any sons cause damn…believe all women 😐
I am so sick and tired of these men thinking they can get away with all this garbage - treat everyone decently and we will be all be fine ! Unfortunately when the President elect does this or condones this then that says a lot of people of the United States since they voted for him and thus this behaviour
I've seen it all ready. Older manomorons are one thing but I see it in many younger people. No moral or ethical evolving has occurred with America under the influence of Trumpopath.
You remember Joss Whedon and Buffy the Vampire Slayer? He publicly was very outspoken about being a feminist. A female charity he was a spokesperson for, "Equality Now", existed that I gave money too to support women around the world. Then as part of the me too movement it came out he treated women terribly on the set and cheated on his wife. They got divorced. So yeah, this happens.
That is actually par for the course. “Good people” don’t have to tell you they’re “good people”. The one that claim to be “nice guys, feminist, high value…etc” run…run very very fast and don’t look back.
Go Blake! I ❤ you! That movie was like a punch in the gut. So impressed it ended that way. I should have done the same. Women are exhausted from the physical and psychological trauma from years of this twisted sort of abuse. Then they smear you?!?! I'm sorry and I thank you for speaking out.
Blake and Colleen were against the movie ending, the idea being a sequel setup (there's a second book), I believe the book is much more up in the air/will they won't they with the abusive marriage.
@@janeventsias5293 Agree with women being exhausted with the physical and psychological trauma. But I don’t agree with you and everyone else here leaving that it was a smear campaign. The general public and survivors of DV were upset that Blake didn’t even promote the movie. She advertised her hair products and promoted her husband XYZ in every interview I saw. It was Justin that was doing a fantastic job promoting the movie and being sympathetic to victims of DV. Let’s not jump ahead and believe one lawyer on one UA-cam video until it gets litigated.
@@jcr-studiosit’s literally in the complaint that she did her “friends and florals” promotion at the studio’s direction. Would people PLEASE read the complaint. PLEASE. Din’t comment unless you read. Jesus.
This is why women need to speak up. ALL women, as soon as something happens. And keep speaking without backing down. Especially since we know the number is higher than what we know about. But too many are afraid because they are ashamed by someone else's behavior or what might happen. Family, friends, and spouses - YOU MUST stand by any woman in your circle who stands up for her right to not be harassed or mistreated.
I remember the big smear campaign against Lively which at the time, didn't make sense. They said they could bury her and her career. Baldoni wouldn't stop talking about his dick, among other atrocities. Ryan Reynolds even showed up to sit in on the talks to calm things down. This is gonna be one hell of a huge payout and these guys will end up waiting tables.
I recall seeing bad stories about her out of the blue too. I remember thinking “I wonder who she pissed off to make them try to ruin her?” I actually wondered if her husband Ryan made someone mad and they were trying to ruin his wife because of it. I am so sick of this “Roy Cohn” type of world where you never tell the truth and so what you want when you want and use the “news” to shape perception of the public and it actually WORKS. The more they do it, the dumber society gets and they just follow like little sheep.
@@kimberlysauber5601 I too thought for a moment that Ryan was the reason they went after her for...reasons. He's in a pretty powerful position wanting to buy Marvel from Disney (He's worth about $400 million or so). He's a very astute business man.
They'll end up in more movies just like every other man who's been accused in the industry. Probably lower grade movies, but they'll still get work. If nothing else they can turn to right wing media. They'll fit in perfectly there.
@@martibee8984Convicted unrepentant rapist and wife beater Mike Tyson keeps getting movies made about him, lucrative silly boxing matches arranged, Jimmy Kimmel and other late night show appearances that normalize him, he gets guest appearances on other shows. No wonder that too many young males are confused as to what is acceptable behavior towards women, others feel emboldened to harass, assault and rape women, and women are afraid to report it. This patriarchal highly toxic society is disgusting. It's crazy that we are going backwards. Women that join the abusers like Baldoni, Depp, Trump etc are worse than the abusers maybe as they legitimize the abusers.
She has witnesses, including people from his old agency, which dropped him. She has proof via texts he wrote, so in his own words. But some people will believe his account over her proof, because that's the world we live in. Women must ALWAYS document workplace harassment. The world is trained to believe men.
Ari Emanuel was an agent at ICM when I worked there. He was an embarrassment. He would degrade his assistants in front of the whole agency. He tried a takeover of ICM but was caught. He was the worst of the worst so he is just saving his own disgusting ass.
So, now that we know a PR company went after Blake because Baldoni and Heath were afraid of their behavior coming to light. DO YOU SEE WHY WE (WOMEN) DON'T SAY SHiT?!?!?
I was sexually abused and rapped when I was married. I wanted to tell someone but no one would have listened to me because my ex was great at gaslighting people. I was afraid of bringing charges against him because he would have gaslit family members.
I desperately hope she takes this to court so all will become public. The idea that society, so recklessly, forms an opinion on the desperate acts of desperate people solely on PR company leaks to discredit people is disgraceful.
I'm no criminal mastermind or anything but it amazes me how many people will document their crimes in text, emails, or on camera. It's also disturbing harassment type abuse in the work place. I feel bad for a week if I'm in rush and don't hold the door for somebody. Intentionally causing stress to anyone for personal gain is deplorable. Sexual harassment is beyond the pale.
It’s sad that this stuff was happening in the entire entertainment and music industry and no one complained for fear of retaliation and harming their careers and reputations
The documented accounts/complaints by Blake are borderline criminal - staring at her while she’s breast feeding and staying after being asked to leave, 🤮
I am sure those details can be written into her contract for future films. Can't help but wonder if they pick their female leads for personal pleasure issues. There ought to be. Role reversal day each year where they become the victims, by other men. Lol.
That was absolutely gross, and definitely falls into the sexual harassment category. I think trying to smear her and destroy her career should be criminal too.
Unbelievable…”gross” is an understatement! If this happened to Ms. Lively, imagine what others have had to put up with? Disgusting…when will it ever end?
Exactly! None of the bears I've run across have gotten their jollies from r*ping me or beating me for hours, or from threatening me with knives. I don't have memories of an ER nurse's years hitting me as doctors tried to patch up my 20 year old bloodied face and body, from an attack from a bear. And that \ from a man that supposedly loved me! That nurser actually begged me not to go back to him. I'd have told her that their was no fucking way that was happening, if i I'd actually been able to speak. Of course I pressed charged, but the good old boys at the Montana police station somehow "lost" all the pictures they took in the ER, so they just closed the case. Give me a bear any day off the week.
I wish Blake all the best and strength in dealing with this horrific situation. The arrogance and depravity of these men is sickening. I am surprised Blake continued with the movie while all this was going on although I assume it would have been difficult to break her contract. The movie was very good by the way. Also, Blake and her husband Ryan Reynolds are respected, caring individuals who are known for their generosity to many charities in both the US and Canada. Ryan also just received the Order of Canada which is the highest honour a civilian in Canada can receive. It is such a shame such good people will have to endure this for a while until this is settled.
Although they’re, seemingly, decent people (and I’m team Blake), just because they do charity work as celebrities doesn’t always equate to good. Look at Ashton Kutcher, who, it appears, may have started an anti trafficking organization to help him traffick with Diddy. Allegedly.
This problem simply echoes the example that is being set by those in power or soon to be in power. Though abuse like this has been around forever we may be taking a step backward by the new regime.
As you said, there were a lot of negative stories about her in the press. Portraying her as difficult, elitist, etc. Her new hair care line was seemingly impacted negatively by all the bad press as well. I also saw videos ofBaldoni showinf what a nice guy he was and portraying him as a humble, nice guy. When i saw the complaint, it all madr sense. To diminish and smear her is vile. I read the lisy of complaints and most women can relate to the things shes stating. I wish her well and hope all bad comes to light.
Honestly, her haircare line was negatively impacted by its formulations, which are not great, and her decision to not include conditioners, but instead just a weekly mask. Few people can get by without a conditioner after washing, and that means that it's not a line I would opt to try.
Intimacy Coordinators, in the context of acting and moving making, are responsible for making sure that actors involved are aware of and prepared for/ ok with the events of the scene that’s about to be filmed. Acting intimate scenes, or violent scenes, etc.. can leave actors in trauma. Intimacy coordinators make sure nobody oversteps what’s been planned and agreed to.
@@colettewhite exactly. An intimacy coordinator being present on set, is standard, in filmmaking when intimate scenes are to be choreographed & filmed. That there wasn't one present, from the beginning of the shoot, (as is implied in the later request for one from BL's team,) is what is of serious note & question.
. Typically, if there is an intimacy coordinator present, there is nothing to witness. That's exactly their job... to keep the actors within acceptable & agreed upon choreographed boundaries... so that no one feels unduly uncomfortable or exploited. There are no surprises, no unchoreographed actions ... with an intimacy coordinator present. The question is, why did the production cut corners and not have one present from the start? Where were their level headed & seasoned producers, and legal consultants, that did not ensure that an intimacy coordinator was present from the start, especially with the theme of the content of the film (domestic violence & psychological manipulation.) Also, I must add... and this is not blaming her in any way, but Blake Lively is not a newbie. She was also a producer on the film. And so, why would she proceed to film without an intimacy coordinator present? (From the start). These things are generally discussed prior to the start of filming.
@@knnaughtmei3874 the part of the claim I read said that they had agreed to it but would have the shoot without the coordinator anyway. If she protested or wanted to wait they just started shooting the scene. If you’ve ever been in that situation you know how vulnerable it makes you feel-you enter a state of shocked disbelief and it’s hard to shake. Kinda like being told you have cancer.
Are we kidding? I’m 62, put up with this shit all my life and thought short of rape none of this was sexual harassment.Yes, I put up with since middle school and thought it was normal. I was part of a game everyone else was playing, and did not come close to it calling it gross. You called this behavior gross and I am surprised and shook and shocked. So yeah, sexual harassment was, is, normalized.
Thank you Hawk for giving attention to this! YOU GO MS LIVELY!!! I HOPE THIS CHANGES SOME THINGS FOR WOMEN IN HOLLYWOOD, HANG IN THERE AND STAND YOUR GROUND. ❤
I’m proud of her, and I thank you for sharing with us. It’s just gross I agree. How quickly they self destruct falling from their high throne… hope she gets her justice.❤
No woman falsely makes a claim that will kill her lifetime passion, goals and profession. A woman accusing other people in Hollywood automatically disappears. I think Blake Lively knows this, but it was important enough to her that she follow through. I wasn’t really aware of Blake before now, but will follow her art and watch and pay for whatever she is in from now on. There needs to be more women directors, and there needs to be fewer women who enable these men.
You’re so right. She has now committed to reliving these horrible experiences for years, being doubted and lied about. Nobody does that for sport or revenge, they do it because they don’t want it to happen to someone else. At least that’s why I did.
Jesus, this is despicable! I can honestly say I KNEW something was up with that smear chaplain! My spidey senses were all over this like someone was trying hard to make her a villian!
I watched your other post about a comment on this subject. Who the hell does that commenter think she is. So, having all of this proof doesn't matter. Blame it on Blake? I think not. Good for Blake for standing up for herself.
I’m 65 years old and all of my “me too” moments came in the workplace, by those in power over me. The most heartbreaking part of all of this is, for the last year the smear campaign seemed to work, as I’ve seen more hating on this poor woman in comments in other posts. Thank you for your reporting on this.
PDF dude...can highlight and underline etc. FYI, I don't follow actors/actresses, but this stuff happens on a smaller scale with MOST women. In the "regular" workforce there's little to no recourse. Using HR can just get you fired.😢
The EEOC is your friend. When I lived in California the State went after my employer for their bad behavior. I didn’t even know about it and had moved away. I just got a random check in the mail one day. My sexual harassment suit against my employer was in Georgia (which had some surprisingly good labor laws). I lucked out with my lawyers who took it on contingency. I didn’t even understand completely what that meant. We won, they cleaned up and I got a check that didn’t even cover what I’d lost, but that was fair because they’d taken a big risk and worked on it for years. I didn’t do it for the money, I did it so that the next time someone sued him they’d be able to wipe him out. He was going to do it again because he didn’t think he’d done anything wrong.
First of all, who in the Wide World of Sports shows naked pictures of their spouse or significant other to people that they work with? WTF! Second, anyone with half a brain knows that you don't communicate via text or even phone call or anything that the records can be pulled up. If you need to vent or do something, you write it out on a piece of paper, and then you burn the piece of paper. The overarching issue Is that these guys got pissed off because their version of the film was not chosen and they wanted to declare war on the woman because men should be the ones to have their versions chosen and not women. They use the last refuge of an uncreative and archaic mine to use sexual abuse as a last resort.
It’s actually worse. It wasn’t naked pictures. It was video of his wife giving birth. And the part that blows my mind is lively’s hugely long list of ‘demands’ Are all, absolutely basic. Like I can’t believe she had to ask for this shit much less fight for it and renegotiate a contract to insert it ‘Don’t walk in on ladies as they are changing’ Oh, yeah, she’s horrible, how can anybody side with her on that? That’s just business. Doesn’t she understand workplace etiquette? ‘Gross’ is right
The thing was... they were acting terribly and inappropriately towards people on set. Blake used the opportunity of the strike occurring to ask for demands to protect herself and others. They later became paranoid that Blake was going to go public so Baldoni started positioning himself to look better by shifting from the agreed on marketing strategy. (I think whether the marketing strategy was good/bad is a completely separate topic from what she experienced on set. But I can understand her wanting to avoid going near discussing that topic on the promo tour. You'd have to think about how hard it would have been to not be honest to the public that Justin is awful and is pretending to be a good guy.) Re: the nudity. Heath was pushing Blake Likely to be nude during the birth scene saying women tear their clothes off during labor. She agreed to be partially nude (chest down, what makes sense for a labor scene). And during that scene Baldoni invited his best friend to play the doctor... not someone who Blake could trust to be a professional actor while she was in a vulnerable situation. And then Heath was showing her the video of his wife in labor in the nude. Blake, justifiably - considering how many times Heath and Baldoni brought up their previous porn addictions to her, thought she was being shown pornography. And Heath pulled the whole "I guess my wife is just cooler than you" type attitude. Just abhorrent behavior.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge of the law and perspective. Some of these things the men allegedly did shouldn’t have to be written down in a document at work. Acting is their job. Blaming her for how grown men behave around her is, in my opinion disturbing! Bashing her for making the complaint as if she got what she deserved because of fame and she’s just being a diva bringing her husband in for clout is why things in our society never change. The fact she had to write the explicitly detailed list of things she shouldn’t and/or wouldn’t tolerate that are inappropriate in any workplace, into her contract is just disgusting! If you think a man can do or say these things to a woman just because she’s famous and or beautiful is disrespectful. They were at work! The things that come out of peoples mouths in defense of the alleged behavior is beyond comprehension to me. When are people gonna realize that locker room, high school behavior towards women in the workplace, regardless of where you are working is disgusting. Saying it’s ok to treat some women that way because “they don’t care” is just plain wrong. Use your head before you say or do something to a woman… what if my mother, sister, or daughter were here, would I still say or do this, knowing they could overhear or see this behavior? If the answer is no, then it’s inappropriate!
There are a lot of men who position themselves as allies, and probably think of themselves as allies, but never see their own behavior from the perspective of an ally. In other words, because they give vocal support to the cause, they think they can get away with doing what they want.
I learned from corporate lawyers back in the 90s that sexual harassment is all about the perspective. What is sexual harassment to one isnt to another and if someone thinks you are sexually harassing them - you are whether YOU think so not.
This is why you don't joke or socialize with women in the workplace. You may say something that in your mind is harmless but if you catch the wrong person on the wrong day then your toast. Always be respectful and keep everything 100% business related when interacting. It's also a good idea to never have a 1 on 1 interaction always make sure multiple people are involved in any conversation.
@@robertredmon5409 I had no problems with my male employees or coworkers joking around with me, or talking with me one to one. The one person who definitely crossed the line was the creepy old man who would suggest that we meet in the copy room to make out, or ask when I was going to take him home to meet my child, etc. That's not a case of their being an invisible line that men fall over because it's such a tricky situation. Initiating intimate physical contact, or inviting it, talking about women's breasts or butts, or "accidently" brushing up against them is totally inappropriate in any work setting, and any man who's thinking with his larger head knows that. Men are not the victims you're portraying then as. If they were, women wouldn't consistently choose the bear.
These are great rules to live by, @robertredmon5409 I wish every creep out there could color inside the lines as well as you have learned to. If so, the world would be a better place. 😊 Thanks for sharing the Wiz, bro!
I have experienced this my entire life as a woman. I believe Blake. I am sad that we as women, regardless of status or income brackets are ever safe from this. Thank you for fairly reporting on this.
The only reasons for this filing are 1) lively and Reynolds want Wayfarer studio to lose the books film rights, and 2) to clear her failing reputation which she brought on herself. None of this was even hinted at by any of the crew or lively until now. I call bs!
Some of this same thing has been happening at an AI run car wash my daughter has been working at. The guilty dude was fired but his buddy still works there and now she’s having to deal with the area manager who is friends with these guys. Pictures, talk, all this toxic masculinity is being empowered by MAGA basically. They meet tomorrow but she’s quitting afterward. Best employee this place has, but they’re in California, counting all the money they’re making from her many membership sales. Probably taking their kids to Disneyland. 😂
I remember seeing a lot of scuttle about Blake Lively and it didn't make a lot of sense. I don't follow her life but from what is generally known she is smart, talented and with an honesty that is not taken lightly. It is all so perverted. Yikes.
I don’t follow her and the movie is not a genre I like so I was mainly out of the loop but heard some catty stuff about her. I’m more into action movies and there has been a good bit of grumbling about people being tired of Ryan Reynolds’ oversized presence and I kind of thought they might be trying to get at him by attacking his wife. But never thought it was so coordinated.
You are absolutely remembering correctly. I saw the same crazy videos out of nowhere they came up. Around the time that they started talking about the release of Deadpool 3 I do believe. Then it was all of a sudden all about her like abuse or cheating scandals or something it was weird. Then it disappeared and it never came up again.
John Lennon wrote a song many many years ago. The title mentions how women are viewed and treated in the world. I’ll leave you to guess which one I’m talking about. Mr. Lennon was absolutely correct ✅
Mr. Lennon treated his first wife & their son Julian horribly, while he was living in wealth with yoko and their son Sean, eldest son Julian & his mother was barely living above poverty, so he was another hypocrite.
@@TallyRocky Lennon was an abusive husband and neglectful father. Great song writer, definitely part of history, and a fully formed complex human being. But a good deal of his values were performative.
I don't know much about Lively. But I was wondering why all of the sudden there were horrible things being said about her. That would have been around on the internet for a while now if all those things were true. Chances are the rumors about her have a minor element of truth. But it is basically all bs.
Her campaign for the movie was suspect for how she handled a movie about DV. She’s now saying that a journalist who she was very rude to was in on it too. I’ll wait on this one.
This is the first I've heard of this. I saw the movie, and I thought it was really good. At 70 yrs old, I've dealt with a lot verbal disrespect, and physical attacks from certain men that I've come across in my lifetime. I haven't paid attention to entertainment because of all the political nonsense. It'll be interesting to see what the outcome has in store for these men. Thanks for making this episode, Hawk.
I don’t trust/believe most of the scandals that come out of Hollywood. These are incredibly rich people whose skill is to pretend; how can we trust any of them?
This last year has shown women a lot of very shocking things and I think it has shown all of us how propaganda and smear campaigns can poison a country.
Thank you so much for expressing your awareness that although it is shocking to you as a man, it is probably not shocking to women. I can tell you this, when you are someone of no importance, they can ruin every part of your existence in this world. There are no avenues of help available because they make certain that no one believes you. Thank you for believing.
Just watched this movie with my mom and my two sisters last week. I was a really good movie, my mother revealed to me and my sisters she once was in an abusive relationship in her early 20’s and how she escaped the night she knew it was going to be bad. Me and my sisters sat speechless because to know my mom is to know she is not to be played with. Now to hear the lead male actor and the producer/director are exactly why movies like this have to be made… I’m discussed. Sorry this happened to Blake and others.
I’m 64 years old. Never in my entire life have I known or met any woman who hasn’t endured being sexually harassed at least once.
Never.
Once.
Not even my Mom.
Or any member of my family.
It’s the truth. Shameful.
Exactly. Im 62 and every woman I know has had some type of abuse
I’m 62 and have lived the same experience with any woman I’ve met and talked to. 💯
Just awful it still goes on, and that women continue to have to put all the work in to try and stop it.😵💫
Truth!
Love on her for filing the nitty gritty details and exposing these house sinner/street saint scumbags.
I wonder where the screen shots of messages came from. I am reminded of Tyrion Lnnister's man Bronn. He was loyal to the highest bidder. Did Ms. B Lively's team find the smear campaign and double the payment for disclosure?

@LeftyLinda so many men watched it happen.
If this can happen to a star like B. Lively, whose husband, R. Reynolds, is one of the top male Hollywood stars, imagine how any random unknown woman in the business is treated.
Women have been used and abused in Hollywood since its very start.

And these are relative nobody’s, imagine if it were bill Clinton or Donald trump? Holy crap makes my skin crawl.

If this could happen to Blake Lively, who in her own right is a top Hollywood star, imagine what other women, regardless of their career or star status, put up with on the regular..... her whole family is impacted by this, I wish them all healing and peace as this winds through the courts.
The smear campaign never made sense to me. Good for her on calling them out! Rotten Bastards!
I don't really know who she is beyond being married to Ryan but I too saw these articles.I didn't read any of them but got the vibe.I had never seen articles about before and all of a sudden she was this horrible, horrible person.

Also, we need to stop putting these people on a pedestal.
THEY ARE NOT REAL SUPERHEROES. THEY’RE ACTORS.
who is we?

These are the guys who say "not all men...."
I bet these guys end up as Cabinet nominees. These miscreants would fit right in.
Well their resume is a perfect fit.

No shit!!!! Definitly made from the same cloth
They could put them in charge of E.E.O.C. And then later appoint them to the Supreme Court.
No, wait, that’s already been done.
Who's going to let them?
I hope Ms. Lively will be able to get some peace, now that she has exposed these men, and the harassment can be stopped.
The women who participated in the smear, hurts my brain to think about.
Just like the white women who voted for Trump
That was the part that got to me. All these texts between these two women high fiving each other about how their smears are going and then completely unironically one says to the other how sad it is that it was women (meaning the social media posters, not themselves) going after another woman like this.
I was thinking the same. She was on a smear campaign, which backfired.
Yeah it’s sort of surreal. These are seriously like cartoon villains.
AND THEN to actually be so good at their job, that they flat out KNOW they can’t say ‘we will bury her’
As they are literally saying it, in writing with ‘imagine if this got out’
brain explodes….
Look at all social media, there are groups of women that go to other women’s media and start hating them. Usually they attack successful women
THANK YOU for doing this. This actress is a very brave woman.
🤣🤣🤣
@ I agree with everything you said.
We stand with Blake!! We knew the negative stories made no sense, and never doubted her!!
The women and men who are blaming her saying she is a bitch, diva and probably started it is repulsive!
They do get away with it
Oh! I promise you they will regret this oine
TY for sharing. I recall the weird negative press about her this last yr. Seemed odd for sure.
These guys are in deep shit, as they should be!
Good for her! I had also heard some rumors about Ms. Lively that just felt...off. Now all is revealed.
Same thing with Casey Affleck. Treated women horribly on the set of one of his movies. Took years but eventually he admitted his wrongdoing.
That is actually par for the course. “Good people” don’t have to tell you they’re “good people”. The one that claim to be “nice guys, feminist, high value…etc” run…run very very fast and don’t look back.
Yeah. The Joss Whedon thing kinda bummed me out.
@@LumpyBrain Me too.
Go Blake!
It was Justin that was doing a fantastic job promoting the movie and being sympathetic to victims of DV. Let’s not jump ahead and believe one lawyer on one UA-cam video until it gets litigated.

Thank you for sharing this info. This clarifies so much around those odd stories about Blake Lively that made no sense. Disgusting

I feel bad for a week if I'm in rush and don't hold the door for somebody. Intentionally causing stress to anyone for personal gain is deplorable. Sexual harassment is beyond the pale.

Thank you for this. I kept seeing Blake's name coming up but had no clue what was going on.
Not a Blake fan but I am a woman. I don't know of one woman who has not been sexually harassed. Good on Blake for fighting back.

NOW do you all understand why most women choose the bear!? EVERY damn time! 😡
Truly vile! And, not unusual. Will this society ever stop approving of this sickening, puerile behavior?
THANK YOU FOR SHARING !!!
Blake kicks back! I adore it
I wish Blake all the best and strength in dealing with this horrific situation.

This is some of the best legal commentary on the web.
They better be careful, Ryan Reynolds will bury them. He's more than an actor.
Intimacy Coordinators are WITNESSES.
Where were their level headed & seasoned producers, and legal consultants, that did not ensure that an intimacy coordinator was present from the start, especially with the theme of the content of the film (domestic violence & psychological manipulation.)
Also, I must add... and this is not blaming her in any way, but Blake Lively is not a newbie.
Wow. Good for her! Thank you for covering this.

And the part that blows my mind is lively’s hugely long list of ‘demands’
Are all, absolutely basic. Like I can’t believe she had to ask for this shit much less fight for it and renegotiate a contract to insert it
‘Don’t walk in on ladies as they are changing’
Oh, yeah, she’s horrible, how can anybody side with her on that? That’s just business. Doesn’t she understand workplace etiquette? ‘Gross’ is right
The thing was... they were acting terribly and inappropriately towards people on set. Blake used the opportunity of the strike occurring to ask for demands to protect herself and others. They later became paranoid that Blake was going to go public so Baldoni started positioning himself to look better by shifting from the agreed on marketing strategy. (I think whether the marketing strategy was good/bad is a completely separate topic from what she experienced on set. But I can understand her wanting to avoid going near discussing that topic on the promo tour. You'd have to think about how hard it would have been to not be honest to the public that Justin is awful and is pretending to be a good guy.)
Re: the nudity.
This sounds like Joss Whedon all over again.
Yeah, he's trash too.
This is called people who harass think they’re entitled to do so.
These are great rules to live by, @robertredmon5409
I wish every creep out there could color inside the lines as well as you have learned to. If so, the world would be a better place. 😊
Thanks for sharing the Wiz, bro!
Annie Elise also has the document on her Patreon, free of charge.
I call bs!
Thank you for breaking it down. Really disgraceful
Not surprised by their conduct at all
Nor am I. Not surprised for one second.
Thank you for this video. 🎉
Prelude to a lawsuit❤
Some of this same thing has been happening at an AI run car wash my daughter has been working at. The guilty dude was fired but his buddy still works there and now she’s having to deal with the area manager who is friends with these guys. Pictures, talk, all this toxic masculinity is being empowered by MAGA basically. They meet tomorrow but she’s quitting afterward. Best employee this place has, but they’re in California, counting all the money they’re making from her many membership sales. Probably taking their kids to Disneyland. 😂
Reasonable assumption is spot on.
God be with Blake Lively and countless others in these types of horrible ungodly situations. 😢🎉
@@cmcmahon66Same here.. Someone that I rarely heard about was all of a sudden this horrible, horrible person.
Bring on everybody's day in court.
However, anyone who ever thought entertainment was a clean business full of healthy, well-adjusted people ...
Unbelievable 😢
Imagine all the women who deal with this WITHOUT the power and support that Blake Lively enjoys.
Those DUDES ARE DONE IN HOLLYWOOD 😅😂😅 !!!!
NO ONE WILL TOUCH THEM ONCE THIS OVER ...YOU DONT TOUCH HOLLYWOOD ROYALTY LIKE THE REYNOLDS 😮....
@ Not commenting on Lennon, his life or talent. Commenting on the song he wrote appropriate to this situation.
@ thats fair. ✌🏽
I don't know much about Lively. But I was wondering why all of the sudden there were horrible things being said about her. That would have been around on the internet for a while now if all those things were true. Chances are the rumors about her have a minor element of truth. But it is basically all bs.
The title of the film is apropos.
Damn. This is so disturbing
LOVE IT, HER CUT IS BETTER !!!
THANK YOU AND CIVIL RIGHTS WORK IS 80 PAGES LONG IS TOO TROUBLELING. !!!
I knew it! When I saw the negative press against Blake last year in knew something had happened to her. I hope she takes them to the cleaners.
Disgusting and Gross! Thank you for your coverage and we will be watching for the outcome.
Can you do a review of the new lawsuit filed by Justin towards the NYT?
WOW
Team Blake here! Loved the movie....she was awsesome!
😮He was honored????
I don’t trust/believe most of the scandals that come out of Hollywood. These are incredibly rich people whose skill is to pretend; how can we trust any of them?
This last year has shown women a lot of very shocking things and I think it has shown all of us how propaganda and smear campaigns can poison a country.
Thank you so much for expressing your awareness that although it is shocking to you as a man, it is probably not shocking to women. I can tell you this, when you are someone of no importance, they can ruin every part of your existence in this world. There are no avenues of help available because they make certain that no one believes you. Thank you for believing.
I would think, with that power couple, they would have a big enough stick that some people may find it hard to find work going forward
