I just watched Shawn Michaels vs Undertaker from Ground Zero 1997. Just before the Hell in a Cell match. He was so great. So many little moments and things he did during the match that you could miss on first viewing.
Starting with his pyro not going off on time during his ring entrance, to which he didn't look best pleased and let it be known.

I think it may have been Shawn's faith that helped him and Bret Hart make amends. It was a two way street still as Bret wasn't the most favorable person either.

Ric Flair? No, he was awesome but all his matches were the same. You seen one Flair match you seen them all.
Undertaker? Heck no his gimmick was more over them him. And i respsct the hell out of Taker. But he's not the greatest.
Austin? No, he was over as hell though.
Hulk Hogan? Popularity wise? Maybe. In ring wise? Hell no.
Hbk had it all, entertaining and he put on 5 star matches 9 times outta 10, especially when it was on a ppv. Wrestlemania especially. And his mic skills are pretty underrated, too.
Evelina Mays On the live mic, in my opinion, the Rock stands heads and shoulders above them all. Cuttin' a promo goes to the Rock as well. I wonder if the opponents of HBK were instructed to "tone it down a bit" to make Shawn Michaels "shine" a little more. Also, every time you turn around, you hear a McMahon flunky saying "how great Shawn Michaels is in the ring". That statement in itself is going to influence the way an audience thinks. How did Shawn Michaels outperform Eddie Guerrero? RVD? Rey Mysterio? Let's not forget the Macho Man Randy Savage.....

They are probably the highest financial draws of all time in the WWE also, not to mention they're all from the same era " The Additude Era" which is crazy.

Actually Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan were WWE´s biggest moneymakers with Hogan beeing #1 by far. Then you gotta rank Cena just because he carried the company since 2005 now.

Gil Edwards I agree. Id have kept the streak unbroken. it would have been great to see sting DEBUT with taker. You wouldnt need all the nwo and dx drama to get the finish over, people would be going nuts. as to the streak for me, if it were sting or not id never book a clean wm pin on taker. Id sooner do something more "dramatic". Remember when taker lost in the casket match and he rose above the titan tron? I think its a better send off and maintains the mystique of the character.
Greg Lion I agree lookin back the Sting vs Triple H finish with hhh goin over would have been downright rotten without the Dx and Nwo cloaking it over a bit along with the dirty win.That Taker vs Sting @WM 30 or 31 would have been epic,though we may get an amazing match @WM 32..its in Texas which is the home of Taker and Sting,Both there careers are coming to an end at around the same time..I could see a double retirement match Sting Vs Taker @WM 32 ..Perfect time an place and would definitely both their ages alot less of a factor because they are both superstars in their 50's..If so I would love to see Taker's last match be in his old attire with either the gray or purple gloves..Their is an interview with Percy Pringle (Paul Bearer) and Cornette on here where Percy talks about how he thinks thats the look Taker will have his last match in..I'de love it but who knows

Mcmahon's opinion is like everyone elses opinion, every one is not magicially going to agree with Vince.
That's the reality of it. Scott Hall another name who claims HBK was the best. Stone Cold another.
Look at his average ratings in his matches and you'll see. They speak for themselves.
Not to mention HBK trains Daniel Bryan who by many is considered one of the best,
if not the best in WWE as of right now. That says something.

I always found shawn annoying and whiny, thats just the way i always felt about him. when he came on the the screen i lost intrest and changed channels, wouldnt even watch to see him get beat up. what little ive seen of his matches didnt impress at all, i think to be honest the only full matches i remember ive seen are razor ladder match, the iron man and the screwjob and i watched those for razor and bret, who i thought drew for those matches anyway. Hated his crap annoying dx character, rdjj and babg were the ones i watced in dx. Ive followed wrestling and different promotions for years and the fact that all of these fans think of him as the goat is so incomprehensible to me i cant fathom it, i could think of numerous guys that were far better performers in ring and on the mic, as well as much better human beings then hbk.
