What changed his mind was his ptsd from Sachi "fault" is his trigger word and he more or less triggered himself saying it wasn't their fault if anything happened in the boss room
Also, I absolutely love Asuna's portrayal in the beginning here. It was so frustrating that the 2nd-in-command of the largest guild in the game suddenly became a weak, swooning girl around Kirito that needed to be "saved" from Kuradeel. Here, it's made crystal clear that she's putting on a show to manipulate Kirito into taking care of business that she can't be bothered with, for her own amusement and satisfaction.
I love how the whole Abridged Series phenomenon evolved from "let's make fun of the source material!" to "let's write something compelling AND funny based on the siurce material!"
I love the fact that abridged asshole Kirito is actually more generous than canon Kirito with the rabbit. In canon, Kirito only offered Asuna "a bite" of the rabbit if she cooked it, and she had to negotiate up to half.
He tried so hard to not care. He tried so hard to distance himself from the "lowly sheep" But he does care. And the PTSD, as well as his connections with Asuna helped to remind him of that fact. He didn't want to get close to other people because of the pain he felt with Sachi. "How dare you make me care about them" Sachi got him in touch with his humanity. And that part of him isn't something he can "kill forever"
Kind of a weird reference but flowers of algernon was a book about a dumb person that became smart for a bit. Basically, the moral was if you suddenly get something, and it's taken away its worse than if you never had it because you know what you're missing now, and everything sucks in compression. Also, why you probably shouldn't do drugs that give a dopamine high.
as much as I love the comedy in the abridged, and i absolutely love it, my favorite thing about it is definitely the semi-serious character development moments. kirito's speech about not wanting to care about people and klein's "don't go giving up on humanity just yet" just Hit so hard, way too hard for a comedy series
Also you need to remember it's not his real body, he feels the pain and if his life points reaches 0 he dies, but otherwise he can be stabbed everywhere but as long as he still have 1 hp he will survive anyway.
@@yamino9sai I completely forgot but in the canon no actually feel pain they just become numb in the affected area losing motor functions. People just act like they are in pain. And no one suffers any long or short term consequences from being unable to feel pain for 2 years.
when he says’thats more like it’, always gives me goosebumps cuz it shows how much he notices Asuna, and when she says she will cut him, which is her usual behaviour as compared to her hugging him and being nice, and the delivery of that line at the end, gives me the Feels
@@Animelon It was a visual callback to Kirito making the retort 'correction; he's suffering' to Asuna's 'he's dying' about Kayns in Episode 5 when he was doing the thing to fake his death.
omg, i thought i was the only one who got the reaction at the last scene “thats more like it”, omg you surprised me with that reactiom, no one else has it, i guess you really understand their relationship
honestly when I watched this the first or however many times I've watched this series I never noticed that the sword that was stuck in his head came out through the roof of his mouth.
The funny thing with the ragu rabbit is abridged Kirito is way more generous. Original Kirito offered Asuna 10 percent and tiff I think a two page summary of how it tastes
Hi- I’m late to these videos by a looong time, but I just wanted to say 1) they are awesome! And 2) I love the shirt you’re wearing in this one- it’s really pretty! That is all. Have a great day!
I know I'm super late but fun fact the glass breaking sound when the food is reveled was one of the voice actors windows breaking mid recording so they took the audio from that and used it in this episode
Oh my god, only now did I realise that it's the word "fault" that's the trigger for Kirito's PTSD. Or should I say PSSD perhaps? Post Sachi Stress Disorder?
@@Animelon I mean they themselves , TFS , had AC/DCs legal team up their asses for episode 4 which uses "Shoot to Thrill " , but they solved that by editing it out of the video , to my knowledge nobody has faced any real challenges or flags to their videos or reactions to them regarding music

@@Animelon yeah pretty much like when he was gonna ignore Silica but she said "this isn't YOUR FAULT" and he had Sachi flashbacks
Love how they always have Kirito call Klein by his name instead of balls when he shows emotion.

The short sword stabbing Kuradeel was unique to the abridged credit to Izzy for having it stick through his mouth really sell the pain.

The suffering of being in a safe zone.
You can't... uh... "die" in a safe zone, but would still feel it.
Oh gosh

It 100% keeps getting better. Its already really good but yes this is the main one that gets alot of people hooked for sure.
I think the item Corvatz had (the guitar thingy) also had a Charisma Bonus to make his men follow his orders even when they clearly are against It.
