I recall seeing the expansion unit for the first (and only) time at an event that was being held at the local fair grounds. One of the buildings was full of electronics enthusiasts showing off their creations. I recall several ham radio guys, remote control cars, and this guy and his son with t he TI-99 and chassis. They were showing off how programs worked and how to program. They had someone draw a picture on graph paper, then converted it into hex code to create the drawings onscreen.

Seen pictures of the expansion in mags. It's so cool to actually see one in use. Nice one

The way each card has its own activity light is so cool. I'd love to get one of these for mine once I have a place with more room.

Since my garage was built in 1950, it’s too short for modern trucks like my Ram. So I put in ceiling joists, insulation and drywall and turned it into a lab/studio. And my wife is so happy.

Wow if you have all this you have a complete system. I had the PEB and the disk controller and 32k memory expansion. Wish I still had mine. It's hard to find side car disk drive and controller. That all I would need to run extended basic because I already have the 32k card. I want to keep my system original. I don't need to add the pi because I'm going to use my pi for a tor router. I still will use modern laptop computer for internet. The TI is just to run my music program I wrote about 40 years ago. I guess I could find a more modern computer to rewrite the program in quick basic but I already have most of the system except a disk drive. I'm sure other disk drives could work on the TI 99/4a with a modified controller . 73

I had no idea there was an alternate OS card. When I was a kid I had a small catalog with all the expansions and software. I had the cassette recorder and some cartridges including extended basic. I really regret getting rid of all of it.

I was always a Tandy guy, and I still am, but digging into the TI, since I never had one, has been a lot of fun.

The P-System card, a $160 for an obsolete PCB card I have never heard of.

Sorry but my OCR is getting the better of me. It's called the PEB(Peripheral Expansion Box).

Did you try to Initialize a double density disk? Did you ever open the manual for the P-card? I thought maybe you would have a follow up video. I had a TI-99-4a but I never had a PEB or any expansion cards.

Did you just put the cards in whilst the PEB was powered up😮
