Interesting, it’s actually quite a challenge to build a clever economy car since complexity must be reduced and parts must focus on function primarily (not much fancy jewellery).
I’m sure you’ll show us some clever design features of the Cinquecento Sporting.
Also I think this car was build at the beginning of the CAD (computer aided design) era, which limited organic shapes and favoured (easier to compute) boxy (polygonal) geometric shapes. Which is also a challenge for the design team to still make a recognisable, and distinctive automobile.

@@stephanvelines7006 It is indeed a challenge to design and make a economy car: people demand features similar to a larger and more expensive car. Tomorrow you'll find out some more on this little gem!

My uncle had one, he added a abarth logos to the seats and side fenders, a black stripe over the center. With a airfilter mod it sounded really fun.
Its really a great little car.
Everyone in the family eventually fell in love with it, and my other uncle bought one in black.

In hindsight, the exterior looks absolutely great stock (although the tyres aren't the original dimension and the exhaust tail isn't original either). Back in the day, everyone would change the rims and lower it. As it was a bit of a rocking chair, lowering and thus stiffening it wasn't the worst idea.
The stitching on my gear lever wasn't red. Don't mind at all, though.
Keep in mind that this little cookie box had electric windows and central locking in a time when you had to pay extra to get these in your Golf.

Thank you for tuning in! Glad you like the video. The Sporting is a very special car. Might be different versions per country or trim level when it comes to the stitching!

My first car ! Bought a 96'er in 1998 at 18 years old. I absolute drove it on and over the limit. I even drove it on a trackday at TT circuit Assen once. Multiple head gasket where replaced on the FIRE engine. Great memory's ! One note, i feel the panel gap of the hood on the right hand site is a bit out of spec. The window side has to come down a little ?

Je had wel autoverkoper kunnen worden ;) Maar nee, serieus: het zijn ontzettend lekkere autootjes. In mijn beleving de laatste uit een grote reeks: 500, 600, 850 (had er eentje) en de 127.
