Chief seems like a very knowledgeable and humble guy. I'm a Lt/Medic at my department in Florida - I can definitely relate to when medic units request PD but give zero reference or stop answering the radio immediately after making the request. Their work schedule is odd to us as we're on the typical 24/48 schedule. I'm sure it's got its pros and cons though.
So, TRAINED men and women can't shop for food Prior to making a shift for a day, off shift not being paid, not my job, why would they aren't being paid. If we took our rigs out for a food call ALL hell would erupt. We do a 24, On 12 shift 48 and we will bring what we need for those days from our shift kitty and one person per shift ( Off shift is responsible) goes out and grabs our grub for the shift/s . As a DC you know what Stn has the best grub ( perks of being a DC /Battalion) and when I had time I made my fames roasteries wild, wild wings for the ALL my boys/women eventually at all stn's. Just cause your a DC/ Battalion Chief you gotto step it up for your crews...and they will love you.... and most are shocked to see an officer BBQing but it shows them as an Officer I am not better then then just more experience and I am a team player and will back my Crew come hell or high waters. My job Cap, DC/ Bat is to bring all my crew home and safe, Mentally and visually safe . Even as a Cap you have a huge responsibility to make sure everyone arrives home safe.
Anyone getting into EMS and or Fire listen to the chief about no call being routine. I’m almost 2 years into EMS working towards FD and having worked with three brand new people in the last year I tell them all the same thing. Don’t assume you know what the call is until it’s at least a month after. Everyone asks what my craziest call has been and it’s the perfect example of this. 46 yo male hx of anxiety smoked a lot of weed very mild respiratory symptoms walking and talking ok. Full cardiac arrest within a minute after loading into the ambulance.
So is his call sign Battalion 4x? I would of thought that him being C Shift leader he would be Battalion would be Battalion 43, but regularly Battalion on the air is a female.

Where in Florida
Of course the PD likes to keep it vague when you are requested. Which usually means it’s a turf job.

Chief Hagerman was a hell of a good Firefighter when he was younger
Awesome video!!
10:38 I believe this firefighter has a brother on the job as well. His name is Phil. 😂😂😂
12:19 when purple shirt goes down, I can guarantee it will be on the 3rd floor without an elevator.😂😂
