      And I like a steak cooked rare, but he didn't even sear that one.

    This really wasn’t Grilling 101 with a Kamado - it was more like Grilling 101 the end. Did not teach me anything about how to effectively use a KJ grill. These things are tricky to learn!

    @sdprince I like mine at 550-600°F and 2-3 minutes per side...depending on the thickness of the steak it will get you a medium to medium rare doneness.

    it was ok but could have been much better. Left out a lot of info for a learn the basics of use video. How long did he grill, when did he turn items over, what was the actual grilling temp? A whole lot of missing info.

    Milton here, sorry dude. The only good thing here was flash back for those who don’t understand combustion.

    You put the cooked items right back on the same tray the raw steak was on?

    Hey great video but wow, your grill prices are way way over what I'm able to afford .. I need binoculars to see them. Bummer.

    So he mentioned to not open the lid fully right away but crack it open for 4-5 seconds before opening it all the way. Then fails to do exactly that.

    What temperature and how long are you cooking your steaks?

  • @Voltuss5
    @Voltuss5 8 років тому +4

    firstly it wasn't hot enough secondly you didn't cook it long enough there was no char on the vegetables and your steak looked raw. my brother does a much better job cooks at a high temperature, oil the steak as well as season and you only need 2 minutes on each side at around 700 degrees F or 350 to 400 Celsius. Check my video for how to do it properly.

      Video Monkey idk why go with this when a pellet grill is so much easier and cheaper? Can anyone tell me?

    • @kellydoesstuff1925
      @kellydoesstuff1925 3 роки тому +1

      @@G-yc5ql I get asked this a lot. I have two reasons. #1 i do not have a place to keep that is completely out of the weather.. electronics and wet don't really mix. #2 i like that i do not deal with grease... at all. I respect the pellet grills and the folks that cook on them... I like messing with the grill and turning out some great food. These are very versatile and have improves a good bit in the last 10 years... as have the pellet grills.

    I don't understand why the steak cooked but the veggies did not.

    • @UHPhilipA
      @UHPhilipA 4 роки тому

      That steak was seared, but I bet it's raw in the center. Those veggies not getting enough cook proves that steak didn't get enough time either.

    so you are cooking veggies same duration like your meat..., what is the point of cooking that meat? better eat it raw, you will avoid carcinogens from the smoke...
