I love your narration! So creepy! You give ASOIAF a much more malevolent feel overall, like there's something really dark hidden within the things GRRM hasn't blatantly said... What a dark mind he must have.
never thought of reading these books but now, because of your videos showing how the Lovecraft mythos is so subtly yet pervasively infused with ASOIAF, I may have to rethink my decision. Truly appreciate the time and effort you take with your channel Thank you
Damn I wrote this exact same theory about Shub-niggurath in one of your previous videos about the H.P. Lovecraft connections. So I agree with this analysis, that there are obvious hints that something greater & darker lurks beyond the petty human fighting for thrones. Now to change the topic completely: Do you have anything to say about the Stephen King based tv-series "The Mist"?. I mean now we had this whole "It" series of videos. Good work by the way. Personally I watched the old tv movie. Which is fun, but this new take on is to be released in a coupple of days I think & it is written by Chriatian Torpe. He is known here in Denmark yet you have probably never heard of him. Still I would be interested to hear your review of that show. Since like me you are a King fan...who was a Lovecraft fan, just like Martin
Your voice and story telling method sure just fits perfectly to any dark stories, fantasy or sci fi. Guess you could be a voice reader for any dark stories, creates a good deep atmosphere of mystery and of the unknown, perfect to invoke any connections to Cthulhu mythos.
you get a thumbs up from me mate great narration with some vital information i didnt know.also you use some great art work as well so ive just subscribed great post...
I think that it's possible the people of Qohor worship an entity similar to the Lovecraft monster, but this story takes place with Renaissance technology. The only conventional way to communicate between distance is to have people go from on area to the next, weather they write about their tales or deliver mail. Numerous Westerosi have gone to Qohor and returned, but it's a long ways away and steeped in mystery. People see things without fully understanding them and try to explain them in the best way they know. Imagine the tales Qohoric people say of Westerosi. I believe it still has it's dark secrets, some are worse than we suspect, but overall it's not as mysterious as it's made out to be.
Actually, no. Glass Candles were used to communicate long distances by the Valyrians, and are implied to be reading dreams currently with Marwyn's recently-activated glass candle.
Since you are an artist, do you provide a lot of the drawings? I would love to know, as your renderings are simply beautiful. I'd like to know if I can get any. You deserve so many more subs. I love your videos.
4.10 sounds like lovecraft was making an analogy for our world and knowledge of the evil that governs us could drive a person mad. Or maybe he just liked scary shit
Great theory videos, watched every one of them and waiting for more! Especially Asshai and the likes less known and theorized interest me. What are the creepy pieces of music used in the videos?
☼ it use to be so gr8! so gr8 to follow along. will we ever know anything like this again? im not sure you know. is there even a shared media like there was in that brief moment? cray.
cool video man Don the know much about Lover after universe but I found it very intriguing I did play the rpg game Call of Ktulhu long time ago and that was quite a good rpg game and very challenging
In terms of making a comparison to real life, Qohor sounds like the Istanbul/Constantinople of the ASoIaF world; a post Roman city that acts as the gateway into the east.
I need more of these theories. The H.P Lovecraft references are the best. Are there any you can find beyond the Grey Wastes? Other than the city of Carcosa? Or are you gonna make a separate video about that place?
Most likely no, Asshaï maybe but I don't see why we would see any other free city than Braavos, Pentos or Volantis. Maybe one of Tyrosh, Myr and Lys with Griff but not sure.
Aaron Garcia I don't think Quohor is mentioned by any character in the main series. I've only ever hear it talkrd about in world of ice and fire, which is kind of like an encyclopedia for asoiaf.
U always do such a great job!!! OK, tin foil hat time... It's weird to me that Qyburn had Grand Maester Pycelle killed in the same way the priests of Quohor did it!! I bought a Lovecraft book. It's a mixture of stories but I'm a few pages in. I also bought A SONG FOR LYA by GRRM. I HIGHLY recommend it!!The Greeshka is the end for the Shkeen and there r some human telepaths there now. Giving too much away!!💟✌
I love that voice! I also saw a kids movie that was about a child named Lovecraft and he had a pet named Spot. Later the pet was named Cathullu! I wish U were writing Winds of Winter! U would be done a couple of years ago. Write back, Tito! 1 last thing, I know U would not kill Viserion. Bran was marked and he went South 2 Winterfell and the Night King could have broken that piece of Wall down all by himself. This season was rushed and disappointing! I will always be a Targaryen fan.
The Christian Bible is full of people making animal sacrifices. And I don't mean any of the "bad guys" but the "righteous" ones, the ones with whom Christians identify. Of course the Bible is just full of horrible people and horrible practices that bible thumpers shout should be the basis of how we live these days. I like to imagine the Qohor black goat as something like Black Phillip, everyone's favourite hoofy star of The Witch. Though he's reported to have given everyone on set a tough time because he, well, behaved like a goat, instead of an extra. I'm thoroughly on Black Phillip's side. Goats are very curious, out going, and playful, but they need routine and their friends. If they have no routine, or it's broken, and they're taken from their friends, or denied anyone with whom to bond, they become extremely upset and stressed. So Black Phillip was behaving like an anxious goat. Poor hoofy fellow. The real meaning of the film: Keep your goats cheerful. I think Qohorian priests are, as most self proclaimed religious people, revealing more about themselves by their practices. A religion with a goaty god sounds jolly appealing. Emphasis on friends, playfulness, regular meals, curiosity, standing on top of cars, and cute ears.
Your theory videos always feel creepy, I love it
TOTALLY AGREE!! 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗

Lol I thought this was going to be about Asshai xD
Me too
Tapabrata Ghosh same here
2 years later I thought the same thing
Awesome. Your channel is still the best! I only wish you made content more often. You deserve way more subs than you have

Raven Dodger - High quality theory video! It's been a min since we had one of those
Well done. and you have an excellent narration voice!
I love all of your videos so much! A great perspective on the world of Ice and Fire and it adds to much to my enjoyment of the books and show
I think you should do an audiobook series with the Song of Ice and Fire series, you have a lovely voice.
Amazing, just when I thought I had seen all your videos, a new one is discovered like this gem!
Your voice and story telling method sure just fits perfectly to any dark stories, fantasy or sci fi. Guess you could be a voice reader for any dark stories, creates a good deep atmosphere of mystery and of the unknown, perfect to invoke any connections to Cthulhu mythos.

Getting your groove back. When you make content you make it as a top level channel.

Masterful narration.
i really like your videos man...especially the readings of the books you do really good...keep it up man
That was super intriguing :O
I love your videos. Your narration is superb. I also agree with subscriber Lightwish Light - you deserve so many more subs.
best narrator on UA-cam 👏👏 👏 👏👏
So true! I wish he narrated the books. We need someone 2 guide us during the long night.
Since you are an artist, do you provide a lot of the drawings? I would love to know, as your renderings are simply beautiful. I'd like to know if I can get any. You deserve so many more subs. I love your videos.

What are the creepy pieces of music used in the videos?
Chills 😭 What are these authors really trying to tell us? "Stories" and fiction help human minds understand much higher truths.
☼ it use to be so gr8! so gr8 to follow along. will we ever know anything like this again? im not sure you know. is there even a shared media like there was in that brief moment? cray.
so....... what was the religion of the Valyrians before Aegon's conquest? & did their embrace of the 7 cause the gradual dragon die-off?
I really love that intro
Great video. You have a typo in the Lovecraft quote (voyage / voice)
In the Cthulu quote the text read "voice" and you said "voyage".
Didn't followers of Red God (Rhillor) attack/try to burn the Temple of Black Goat. In Qohor.
cool video man Don the know much about Lover after universe but I found it very intriguing I did play the rpg game Call of Ktulhu long time ago and that was quite a good rpg game and very challenging
That pronunciation of Shub"niggurath is probably better than the intended pronunciation.
Come back
Make more videos
Your good at this!
Wait so valyrian sterl is made trough blood sacrifice? Why is that info not everyone on anyones theory that would explain a lot
In terms of making a comparison to real life, Qohor sounds like the Istanbul/Constantinople of the ASoIaF world; a post Roman city that acts as the gateway into the east.
GRRM stuff always sounds so interesting until petty human/Earth allusions like this are brought up.
How about Mantarys?
Is this place scarier than Asshai?
What music is in the background?
I need more of these theories. The H.P Lovecraft references are the best. Are there any you can find beyond the Grey Wastes? Other than the city of Carcosa? Or are you gonna make a separate video about that place?
i definitely want to go to qohor
Has GRRM stated whether the final two books will have chapters which take place in Qohor?
Most likely no, Asshaï maybe but I don't see why we would see any other free city than Braavos, Pentos or Volantis. Maybe one of Tyrosh, Myr and Lys with Griff but not sure.
That's a shame.
More Dune videos, please!
Sounds a bit like the supposedly sinister otherness of Carthage, at least according to the Romans they sacrificed their own children.
In which asoiaf book can I find stuff like that?
Can anybody please help
Shub-Niggurath is the mother of the Nestene Consciousness
Oh boy... They worship Mama Shoggoth. Fun.
I think the Black goat is the children of the forest or their essosi counterpart
So we'll never know which religion is true in tbe world of ice and fire.
Are any of them true?
like in real life
The seven are fake however the old gods and R'hollor are true
I thought it was going to be about Asshai
talk about the city of Yeen
Wait. If the maester has his hands cut off then how could the wrote the story?
One hand.
Oh the horror of it all Lovecraft anything but, fools dare not rush in!
Qohor must be a pretty fucked up place to be able to produce someone like Vargo.
you scared the s out of me
I wish you'd gone into more information. Some quotes from characters wouldve been great!
Aaron Garcia This is likely from The World of Ice and Fire book not the ASOIAF book series.
Aaron Garcia I don't think Quohor is mentioned by any character in the main series. I've only ever hear it talkrd about in world of ice and fire, which is kind of like an encyclopedia for asoiaf.
Qohor is brought up when Daenerys is first travelling with Drogo's Khalasar, and Vargo Hoat is supposedly from there.
Nice
Shubby!

Of course MY gods are always right and correct, and YOURS are demons.
