  • Today, on a hot September day, we're fixing a furnace that tries to start, but won't ignite and then shuts down after about 30 seconds.
If we had to replace the sail switch, this is the one we would use:

    or

Great video! Seems very familiar to me... May have run across a rig/situation like that one before!

My furnace did the something except the gas valve opened but did not start. The burner had a hole in it. Thanks Don

Ooh. Yes. That happens. Comes from oil in your propane line. Oil gets on the burner and torches the inside.

Great video guys, question. My Surbuban furnace reignites every 5-8 minutes. Do you think it might be high limit switch?

It is possible. Or it could be your igniter/thermal couple might not be sensing the flame correctly. Could be dirty.

My suburban clicks when the thermostat is turned on, but the fan fails to start. So I assume the relay has activated. Where do I go from here? It's inside under a cabinet so it has to be pulled. Nt20seq.

Could be a bad fan, a bad board, or thermal relay. I’d start checking all of these for power & continuity. If you’re not comfortable with that, I’d check RVTAA.org for a certified tech near you.
