Colt SAA is generally considered a black powder weapon but you can typically use substitutes but using a smokeless powder like cordite will make an Original one explode. But modern reproductions that can use modern powder loads exist too.
Colt Single Action Army, (SAA) and Cattleman, Uberti makes quality repros of them, even percussion guns too

I think he forgot/didn't know the term "Fixed Cylinder"/"Swing out cylinder", which might be a bit technical for a casual firearm enjoyer. Still, trying to google "you know, cowboy revolver" was a little disappointing

I love my Marlin 30 30 winchester, lever needed a bit of smoothing by the gunsmith on mine, but once done, extremely reliable and easy to use rifle.
Need to get me a revolver though, only have pistols so far in the handgun department. Colt python or anaconda just looks cool.

From what I can tell, the power from least to greatest is 44 special, 357 magnum, and 44 special, depending on the load.
closest to cowboy would prolly be .45 lc, magnum calibers are pretty new. they make single action revolvers in it.
My grandad still had his dads Webly .455 from WW1 but he gave it away in the mid 80s because of the fucked up gun laws here in the U.K.. That was a cool gun it was a top break.

One time me and my friends found an old boat in the woods and we drug it out of the woods with my atv. Well one of my buddies got in it and I was pulling him through the field and I felt the rope snap and I look back and the boat had stopped but he didn’t so he just smacked his face on the front of the boat. He was okay but it was pretty funny.

OoooOh I’m soooooooo sorry! The action does not dictate the way a revolver is loaded. When i took my course what they showed us was that most single actions were loaded via a loading gate, and most double actions the cylinder swung out.

I live in St. Louis and it is NOTHING but farmlands once you get out of the city, make friends with one of those country boys and you'll have plenty of room to shoot, i have ten spots i can go right now and i don't even know the guys super well, just bring ammo that they can use or let them shoot your guns too and most of them are eager for a shooting day. It's such a shitty city that everyone tries to keep their skills up anyway and ammo is expensive these days lol

Yep. Could be argued that it's a better deer round than .44 mag because it's faster for more hydrostatic shock and will go through a shoulder instead of shatter it and ruin meat.

They are "single action" revolvers where you have to open the loading gate and load them one at a time if I'm not mistaking. As well as you can use 44 special in 44 magnum just the same as you can load 38 special in a 357 magnum.
I think don't think single action means having a loading gate, but they usually do, I think their are some single action revolvers that are swing outs
