As a fan of another team in a different league (B1G) all this is crazy. Only reason so many are up in arms over this is jealousy. Hurley is really one of the greats, people just wish their coaches were more like him. I just hope our next coach is as good as he is, and boy do we need one.
Thank God giving JStew more run... Going by your own words... We'll go as far as our sophomores take us. Manifest my man, this team is growing and will be ready come March! 💪🏾🙏🏼💚
So much pearl clutching about Hurley's antics by the college basketball punditocracy. Every coach has their own motivational approach. As it turns out, Hurley has been way more demonstrative on the sidelines this year compared to last year. Last year's team was so dominant and mature, he didn't need to light his hair on fire. He knows this year's team is softer with some glaring deficiencies. With that said, I happen to think his antics help fire up his kids. One thing about Hurley's sideline antics is that you NEVER see him berate his players during the game. I'm sure he does plenty of that during their practices. He operates as their biggest cheerleader and a bare fisted brawler willing to take a swing at the refs who dare to blow questionable whistles against his players. Anything for the win, even if it's ugly. I love that about him.
Coach Hurley and Coaach Calhoun are no nonsense Alpha Dogs. Sure they can extend the limits but they are very driven people. You would rather have that than have someone who just always conforms....or doesn't show they care. These people make UCONN fans feels these guys are really ten toes in. We love that about them so we accept them and their flaws.
UConn to 3-peat, the king of March Madness and will win its 18 consecutive double digit in a NCAA tournament. The first team to 3-peat since UCLA in the early 1970s. Karaban, Diarra & S. Johnson will have 3 rings. Dan Hurley the next John Wooden.
Its a little frustrating that everybody always says following Calhoun like they completely forgot about Kevin Ollie. The guy won 20 games with a Uconn team that knew it couldnt be in the tournament and then backed thst year up with a National championship.
Fortunately for Ollie, he won his championship as coach with many players recruited by Calhoun. Unfortunately, he arrived on the heels of the Big East dissolving and his personal life falling apart. I also think his program succumbed to the pressures of staying competitive by any means necessary (not all of which was his fault, I might add). He faced a lot of headwinds and poor timing for sure. I do think a lot of true UConn fans still have a soft spot for Ollie and appreciate that he guided UConn to its 4th chip. He certainly was one of the hardest workers and greatest team captains in UConn's history.
LOVE Coach!!! don't let the haters get to you coach!! you're a legend!! GOD BLESS YOU COACH HURLEY!!

@gg70000 Everything you said is true, Coaches win titles in college not players 😊
