To answer your question Tyrone, a bee sting serves as a beacon of attack for other bees. The first one stung him on the lip, so his lip became the point of barrage attack. Under normal circumstances, if you had a bunch of bees on your face, just one sting would instantly turn into hundreds of stings.

The thing is, with a calm group of bees, this should be a relatively safe thing (with supervision, of course). I've seen videos of people doing this and only getting stung a few times.
