Agreed...These nintendo games were so hard. But if you use save states youd be shocked by how short these games are!! Maybe they made them so hard bc they were so dam short lol
I'm an '80s baby. This game brings back such a wonderful feeling of nostalgia! hanging out with cousins and friends you know, Whatever kid was able to come to the house from up or down the street that day. It was so much easier making friends living in the '80s and early '90s being a kid and having a Nintendo. Or Sega lol Awesome video! game on! 🕹️🎮
The NES was a huge step up from the Atari 2600 in audio as well as graphics. Though primitive by today's standards, they could still do some pretty cool stuff with sound effects.
I can remember playing this in the arcade’s as a kid, I used so many quarters on this game until I was able to conquer it then when I bought it on the NES I ended it the same day because I already knew how to play
I remember playing this game when I was young, it reminded me of the Karate Kid movies and some Bruce Lee films but it was hard like many NES games. It is a shame I never finished it.
@@KenInnesIV Yes the hardest NES games I remember was Mission Impossible and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1. I never finished the first Metroid, Kidicarus and Super Mario Bros 2. Believe it or not Super Mario Bros and Super Mario Bros 3 was a lot easier for me then Super Mario Bros 2. Although some years later some claimed the real Super Mario Bros 2 was the lost level game which only came out in Japan. I beat all the SNES, N64, PC, PS3 games I played. I only beat one Nintendo Switch game so far which was the game from the Cowabunga collection TMNT arcade game from 1989.

The cool thing about some of these old games is the precise technique and timing that you needed to succeed and even though they can be repetitive they are still fun

@@robertrodriguez787 Yeah, I've gotten that mad before. Hit my NES once and actually cracked the game slot door. Also threw my controller on a number of occasions.
You made that look to easy... mine has been on my shelf for like 25 years now and I think I might finally give it a try again.... This game was bane of my existence at 6 years old... Along with Dick Tracy and A Boy and his blob. Lol
Actually, at that time, games tended to be unending. They just got harder and harder until you gave up. I knew a few Atari 2600 developers and I asked why this was so. And they said basically, at that time in gaming, people just expected games to be forever so they got their money's worth. A game that ends doesn't have any replayability. Funny how times have changed.
@@KenInnesIV I had the Advantage stick. I wanted the Max but it was always sold out and my mother was convinced I would break it. That stick lasted far longer than the actual system lol.
@@seanyoung9014 I loved the Max, not just for the turbo but also the weird circular d-pad that made diagonal movements a bit easier. I didn't own the Advantage but got to use it and found it more difficult. It was great for people who were used to arcade sticks but I was more used to the flat d-pad.
Not really the end of the game....If you go through the cycle again, the love hearts around Thomas and Sylvia increase. I remember seeing this, and my uncle telling me that if you go through the cycle 5 or ten times, you get to face the final boss. Pretty sure he was talking shit.
You just need to stand up to thwart that tumbling dwarf. Also, never use punch, it has a shorter range. Just always kick. I can beat this damage less when I was a kid. Can't remember how many iterations I can beat. it gets harder per iteration.
Yup! I remember in the mid 1980's playing the arcade version of this game at a pizza shop in NYC. The arcade version of this game looked a little flashier, but was basically the same exact game.
When my wife and I would play Earth Defense Force or Left 4 Dead on the hardest difficulties the giant bugs/zombies would totally infiltrate our dreams!
I think using the original hardware would be easier. With emulators there's latency issues, especially if using a Bluetooth controller. That input lag can be killer on games that require precise timing.
Have you played it? What do you think?
I played it and beat on several occasions. I used mostly kicks, but you used almost exclusively punches until you used low kicks to dominate Mr. X.
@@johnanderson9765 I think punches earn more points
@@KenInnesIV Makes sense, kicks have a longer range.
I remember that game being alot harder and longer to beat and you just did it in almost 7 mins. Mad props.
Yes sir I remember being in elementary School 🎒 playing this with my family with the huge turbo controller on NES great memories
6 minutes?!?!? This game took MONTHS to conquer. Thomas died a million deaths in my hands. Seriously, level 4, murder hornets.
They had to make the short games challenging or you wouldn't feel like you got your money's worth
Try you jaja

One of my first 5 games for the NES. Still a classic
Did you keep playing it to get better scores or did you stop once you beat it?
One of the best early fighting games. The realistic fighting stance, great controls, great sound effects, and awesome boss characters.
