    Here are some materials I use. If you want to support me, consider purchasing them via these links.
    The paints I use are 'Old Holland' from Dutch factory 'Scheveningen'. These have a very high pigment load and are very thick. This way you can add your medium of choice, without thinning the paint too much. I usually get 225ml tubes which saves about 30%. The tubes last a long time, on average I use about 1 225ml tube a year for each color. The set I use, in the actual order I have them on my palette:
    Titanium white: 40ml: amzn.to/34lTQkH 225ml: amzn.to/3c9EjqR
    Scheveningen yellow lemon: 40ml: amzn.to/2JVWMuE 225ml: amzn.to/2xYFWc2
    Cadmium yellow deep: 40ml: amzn.to/3c3rpud 225ml: amzn.to/3aXmlaS
    Scheveningen orange: 40ml: amzn.to/2UWmR3e 225ml: amzn.to/2Rmxwlp
    Scheveningen red medium: 40ml: amzn.to/3aWu1dx 225ml: amzn.to/2xkaQvk
    Alizarin crimson: 40ml: amzn.to/2V9kNne 225ml: amzn.to/3eaIrZi
    Dioxazine mauve: 40ml: amzn.to/2JUxmxz 225ml: amzn.to/3eeIhQX
    Ultramarine blue deep: 40ml: amzn.to/2RrAwgv 225ml: amzn.to/39SutYV
    Transparent oxide red: 40ml: amzn.to/2Rkf5ht 225ml: amzn.to/39WSKwS
    Scheveningen green deep: 40ml: amzn.to/39Rrsb3 225ml: amzn.to/2wwSPK8
    Sap green lake extra: 40ml: amzn.to/2xk9ctE 225ml: amzn.to/2Vdv0zj
    Ivory black 40ml: amzn.to/2JVYcFu 225ml: amzn.to/2UURoye
    Occasionally I use a small amount of this very saturated blue/green, but I don't keep it on my palette: Scheveningen blue: 40ml: amzn.to/2ViAPLA 225ml: amzn.to/2RrCFZB
    My standard medium that I've been using lately, consists of equal parts venetian turpentine and linseed oil:
    Talens venetian turpentine amzn.to/3aVTBz3
    W&N Stand oil amzn.to/3aUR5JC
    W&N Linseed oil amzn.to/34pUpKn
    Some brushes I use: cheap hog bristles for initial lay in, similar to these: amzn.to/2VxdYfL, long script liner brushes for details, eg. these Da Vinci ones: amzn.to/3a5Q0xb (size 10 or so). Other favorite brushes of mine are Rosemarys bristles, and Talens Van Gogh round ox hair brushes.

    What a beautiful painting. The lemons 🍋 contrast well with the darker background.

    Just lemony perfect! So real. Like the no music, the reason I change most channels is the annoying music. Tks.

    I also noticed, I think, that you haven't changed brushes and using very small brushes for all. I guess the result is much better, I will try that too. Tks.

    I wish you upload full time videos of your painting process instead of time lapse or speeding demo’s. If someone wants to watch it quicker one can speed it up by video settings but we can not watch it longer in original size of video. Great artwork tho!

      Burak Akbas if he uploaded a full time video would you pay to watch it, or would you expect to view it for free? There is no such thing as a free lunch..

    Great technique and thanks. I see you prime the canvas at first with your hand what material did you use to do it?

    • @josvanr

      hello! I oil out the panel with some medium (stand oil+linseed+venice turp)

    • @angelaequd5583
      @angelaequd5583 7 років тому

      In what proportions? Do you moist the brush or the paint with this medium along the painting or you only use it at first to moist the canvas? Thank you for your answer

    • @josvanr
      @josvanr  7 років тому

      1/1/1 Yes I use some in the brush and also the canvas... Sometimes I add some on the palette..

    Beautiful. Great focal point and use of light. Love your colors. What size canvas is this painting? Do you buy sizes according to the Golden mean ratio? Like 8" x13" and 10" x 16"? Just curious.

    are you recording a video while painting or just taking a photo every 5 minute or something like that ?
    it would be really nice to see you painting fluidly in your timelapse video !
    you art is totally amazing and I think this kind of video (like 5frame per second and not smooth) does not give the right value to your work.

    • @davecasey4341
      @davecasey4341 8 років тому +2

      +Sylvain Klein Go to his website and you will find about six or seven full length videos shot in real time. I've bought most of them and they are fabulous and well worth the money.

    • @SylvainKlein
      @SylvainKlein 8 років тому

      +Dave Casey (dgcasey) I already bought one months ago but I have the same issue, it's like if it was a 5fps video... but I definitly love his work !!

    • @SylvainKlein
      @SylvainKlein 8 років тому

      +stikowsky I see and am aware about the size issue of the video file, I make timelapse video of my drawings and painting myself. But if you render the final video in mp4 with the h.264 codec a short video like yours will be way lighter than 15go... around 500mo maybe more, max 1go. Hope it will help :)
