      It shouldn't be about sides. Kramnik is clearly off his rocker (basically accusing anyone who beats him!) but that doesn't change what he's highlighted.
      Danya opened an engine during a live game, whilst it was still ongoing. Any ifs and buts are irrelevant as then you are opening the door to making fair play violations / cheating allowed under certain circumstances.
      And tbf Danya has admitted as much. So I don't care about sides, I care about what this raises and what steps should be taken to ensure online chess isn't just on "trust" basis. FIDE needs to step in.

      Completely understandable by Kramnik, Hikaru is just the worst, pure narcissist just look at how he acted towards Firouzja etc. Their whole behaviour is incredibly hypocritical after what happened with Hans Niemann, where nobody cared that he was uninvited everywhere without any evidence. But when someone asks questions about their own behaviour all of a sudden it's a "witch hunt" 😂. Kramnik is very mature for admitting that, most would not have. Most people simply can't think for themselves but rather just follow the mainstream opinion.

And then when one or two of them get involved in a cheating scandal he’d act as if that proves that he’s also correct about all the other cases. But obviously when you’ve accused almost every semi-relevant chess player out there, statistically, there’s a chance some of them were actually cheating.
      Does it make it okay to accuse so many people with only his gut feeling as the argument? Most people would say “no”, but Kramnik thinks it’s okay.

    Kramnik is already saying on his Twitter he's got more irrefutable proof Danya mislead everyone yesterday. Why is Danya so dumb and keep talking to him? It was obvious Kramnik was going to go through every single word after the interview, and use every small detail to try to keep claiming he cheats. Hans admitted to cheating online in a regular game --> Hans cheated OTB against the World Champion; Danya admitted to cheating in a speedrun --> Danya cheated online. The logical leap isn't far off. Not to mention the whole making "insinuations but not accusing" are identical. The only difference is FIDE isn't backing Kramnik while Chesscom backed Hikaru because Chesscom is an unprofessional laughing stock of an organization. 1. Firstly, thank you for taking the time to do this, much appreciated.
    2. People are missing the REAL point of this debacle with Kramnik. The real take-away should be that online chess can never be a legitimate form of play, not for ratings, or for money. Chess big wigs are trying make chess more viable as a entertainment money maker. Chess players are unrealistically wanting to make big bucks. But this isn't pro ball. Nobody is going to make Michael Jordan money, except for 1 or 2 guys. This drive for big business taints chess. No one will ever really trust the system and they shouldn't. People will always cheat if it's not OTB. OTB is the ONLY legitimate form of chess.

    Kramnik is crying over Hikaru swearing towards him, and his response is to berate Danya? Things are not adding up. His arguments also lack substance and concrete logic. The only reasons I can surmise he is doing this are: 1) for attention, either for its own sake or for the money he can generate from it; 2) due to mental issues, such as jealousy, severe dislike, depression, or mania; or 3) because he has somehow been manipulated by the echo chamber of people who dislike Danya. Nonetheless, this is PATHETIC behavior for anyone, especially for someone who was a World Chess Champion.

    Thank you, Mustreader, for posting this. Danya's thorough knowledge of the witch trials should make it clear to him that arguing rationally with an insane deluded punisher can never succeed. There is no hand-shake; there is no compromise; there is no reasoning with a witch trial. Danya's moral purity is admirable, but Danya can not convince the whole world that he is in the right, even though he is, 100%. Move on. Stop offering to answer the insane inquisitor. No one is putting him in Puritan jail, and no one is throwing him in the pond to see if he will float or sink. Unlike the witches, Danya can continue to live an admirable life. Shake this dirt off your feet and move on, Danya.

    I think Hikaru is right to call Kramnik names because. at the end of the day, everyone is innocent until proven guilty and no one put Kramnik in charge. But as he also pointed out in one of his last streams chess players have to be extremely careful, because most of them, even at the top level, make their living by playing chess and if they want to stay on the circuit they have to respect some political boundary. Hikaru can afford to act as he wants because he can retire and live other two lifes with the money he has made. But I believe also that Danya is too good of a person, for him is not a matter of "political boundaries" is just that he is not capable of insulting Kramnik even in such a circumstance. Kramnik can still afford to act as a bully just because of the credit he has, but this credit is going to finish soon, already even in the Russian world where he was idolized he's losing credibility.

    • @grimlips6596
      @grimlips6596 22 дні тому

      Imo "innocent until proven guilty" is nonsense in a context where it is literally impossible to be proven guilty. Even Shevchenko has not been proven guilty, he just wanted to answer his phone at midnight in the bathroom, for unknown reasons.

    • @davidefontanella2147
      @davidefontanella2147 22 дні тому

      @@grimlips6596 No, I disagree. It's not a matter of context. Even in ordinary justice you barely get caught with a smoking gun. On the contrary, you very often have to go to a trial, with different pieces of evidence, more or less clear. In the case of Shevchenko the evidence was crystal clear, but even there, there are organs proposed to judge him, and no one put Kramnik or anyone else in charge. Innocent until proven guilty does not mean that you have to be blind, or not allowed to have suspicions, but you have to leave to the proposed authority the job of judging and condemning the person. Starting a witch hunt like Kramink did is just stepping out of the boundary and making yourself judge, jury, and executor. And another factor to keep in mind is the more you are famous and respected the more you should act carefully on this matter. If I accused Hikaru or Danya of cheating nobody would have cared, but if Kramnik does it it has a different impact.

Pls, don't take it as condescending or patronizing. You asked to opine honestly. Speaking of which, when you said you were going to give yours in the end I was skeptical and expected to hear (as it used to be in your interviews) being "nice" to both parties and avoid sharp angles. No. You did give a principled one in the end. Didn't know you had it in you; LOL.
