Look my black friend invited me to one and I was shook. Amazing food and amazing people. Then I invited her to my family's latin (Venezuelan specifically) cookout and my friend left with enough leftovers to feed 10 people lol The end result was her mom and grandma liked the food as much as my mom liked their food and our families ended up getting together for the weekend and made a huge Venezuelan/Black cookout and I'm still recovering. Fvcking amazing!
Everything you just named, except collard greens. Swear I've tried it every way it can be cooked, and never liked it. My family used to give me shit, because I'm the only one on both sides that does like them😂😂😂
I cooked fish for my buddy at an all black wedding in Jacksonville, Illinois. I was suddenly mobbed by the Women who took over and told me to scoot. I had the time of my life dancing, playing horseshoes and yes telling jokes. Nobody was offended by everything funny back then. The next weekend we did it again without a wedding. Great people.
I was born in Norway(though I'm American)and so obviously I'm wicked white. But I shine at southern black family BBQs. I help cook, joke, I'm not sensitive and I destroy as spades and dominoes. And next to Thai food southern BBQ is my favorite food. I could eat either any day of the week. OMG I'm now sooooo hungry for ribs and smoked brisket and greens and I just ate dinner.
I had a similar but profound experience. I was suckered into playing patty cakes with my friends very young daughter. How can you say no when she seems so happy about it right? All the women gathered around and thought how cute this was until she looked up at me with a sweet innocent puzzled expression and asked this most pasty white blond hair blue eyed guy, "Are you black?" Judging by my friends reaction, if there ever was a moment when a person could see a black woman blush, that would be it. On the other hand children don't really know what race is until they reach a certain age... "become like little children".
lol, I got this from my brother in law. My sister (actually step sister but still my sister) is Japanese/Hawaiian mix. My brother in law happens to be black. They invited me and my husband to a family barbecue. Oh boy… family luaus are one thing. But this was a huge party with everyone’s family. So much fun.
To The Host: At 4:02 seconds into the video. MY heart stopped. Being a Black New Yorker with Southern roots. ALWAYS be careful when you are approached by two Black women offering you to try the same dish. Speaking from personal family experience. It is a setup! Make one mistake about your feedback and all HELL breaks loose!!!!! LOL!!!!!!
I actually don't know if what I'm about to describe is a black American thing or just my friend's family. But I have a black friend I have had since 2nd grade. I went to her birthday parties and was invited to a few of her sister's birthday parties too. This family DID NOT play around when it came to pinatas. Once someone smacks it open EVERYONE in the family... child, teen, adult, elder... is on the floor fighting everyone else for the money they hid in the pinata with the candy. The first time it happened I laughed so hard I nearly soiled myself. I got pretty much nothing for money OR candy because I was rolling around laughing while everyone else was grabbing the stuff. But, oh man, that was a hilarious sight to see. No other kids parties I went to were like that except for theirs.
That was one of the funniest things I have ever heard in my life!! Just subscribed the other day and I am really enjoying your channel. Lots of content. Take care. Blessings Pat in New Jersey
I don't know if I'd survive a black cookout. I can't, & I do mean CAN'T, overeat. My tummy won't have it. If there's too much, my stomach WILL send it back. No ifs, ands, or maybes. I got no choice. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Im white from the north. Bbq up here is done wrong and overly sweet. The best you can get is better bad. Love authentic southern bbq. When we r down south, my hubby gets mad because I asked black ppl where the best bbq is. He thinks I'm being racist. I'm not. It's a compliment. No white person has let me right. And no black person has led me wrong. Shout out to Doug that sent me to jacks in Nashville. Even bought the t-shirt and a few bottles for home. I have to make my own bbq up here cuz no one north knows what molasses is. Fml.
the only thing i remember about my first black cook out was how good the food was and all the cooking tips i got from the chef's...and i did a lot of awkward dancing 😂😂😂
I actually appreciate that you got his commentary cuz I just enjoy him so much he he he he always kept me in the spirits that I was cuz I appreciate him and I appreciate you bro
Loved your reaction. Watched this 2 years ago. Zack is a cool white dude. Best Christmas eve I ever had, was at my best friend's family's house, he from Trinidad. I totally get what Zack experienced.
The one following this Black Cookout is Mama T's Fish Fry (birthday that his buddy invited him to), you have to react to that one too. Oh there are so many great videos in his catalogue ... one of my favorites is Tales of Opossum. Hilarious.
All my family functions growing up! Started to play spades at 5 yo. Really surprised a lot of my buddies in the Army. I never knew white folk didn't know spades!!?
Sir, we need a reaction to Momma T's Fish Fry. I seen you done "Respect" That's also a great one. The other that you need to do is The Tale of Opossum. (All the same guy!)
I have seen this video quite a few times and I still laughed hard. Ty, your reactions are what made me laugh. I was surprised that you hadn't seen this before as well. I know what he meant by putting someone in a "white people position". When I was stationed in Fort Worth my best friend Dave, who is black. and I used to go to Rock and Roll bars which were mostly white people. One night Dave said, "Why don't we go to a black club"? I said, sure why not, obviously I'm white. I had a good time and enjoyed the music but the atmosphere sure was different.
Hello, from Canada. I have been watching you for the last 3-4 years. You were one of the first channels that I discovered, absolutely I think it would be so awesome for you And Zac to meet up. That would be an awesome video. You guys together would absolutely be awesome. This is what we need nowadays more love less hate, and alot more common sense...😊
Back when I rode submarines for a living, we went to the Philippines a few times when we still had Subic naval base. I made friends with a local family and was invited to dinner one night. Do not, under any circumstances, if offered a “balut”, try to eat it. You may think you know what it is, but believe me, you do not. They were eating them like donuts. Google for more info on this delicacy.
When I was serving in the Army a friend of mine invited me to a Vietnamese community dinner and I did feel rather uneasy because I was the only white guy there and I had no idea what the customs were or what might be inappropriate. I also couldn't understand a word of conversations around me, although they spoke English when we talked. But everyone was super welcoming and friendly. I didn't know what most of the food was but it was delicious. Great experience!
To any and all facing cancer or have faced cancer learn abt the importance of diet and health. You tube has great videos on health and diet. God Bless.
7:00 in another video that he did he explained that his friend that invited him to the cookout, and his family gave him a really good hand to mess with him.
You do some real good commentary the person that you got I can't think of his name but I'm telling you I've been through the worst as hell in my life and him that you had on your is who got me through some of them know I am God bless both of y'all
If you know , you know.... Barbecue, collard greens, melon, Cornbread, and some peach pie and sweet tea.. That's what we be talkin about...
What time ⏲️ is dinner 🍽 😋

I'm neither black nor white. One of the best/beautiful stories on respect.

With the spades game, his friend admitted later they had set Zach up.

This guy is good. Love it. Another one I love is Josh Pray and his bright friends. 😂
Black BBQ is the same as white southern BBQs purty much same food minus necks n gizzards and less noise n gunfire
He's so funny. I love the story he tells about his nephew and his first school crush. I haven't heard anything from him that is funny and truth.
Hey Ty, it's your grammar friend again. Fix that headline. "First" not "Firest." Got your back, bubba.
You don't have to be black to enjoy this cook out, just from the South. Been eating this kinda food since I can remember, doesn't get any better ❤
Love this, he's so funny!!
While he was out his cards were stacked by his buddy.
He bought Mama T a fish fryer
