Frr bc the first couple times I was listening to the lyrics and I didn’t really feel much but when I listened to it for the 6th 7th time it made my heart drop when he said he looked in his mother eyes
@@truthcansuck5555 "the bastards knew what they were doing" I didn't realize it but the guys knew he was her mother which makes this darker story a much more darker because it wasn't randomly is his mother. He was caught in the web of corrupted fate.
yeah its not real the story may have real elements which have never been confirmed but this is all for dramatic effect. The crazy thing is if you from a criminal life you understand this is not super far fetched
Matthew Ganga y’all are dumb, you think he is really going to admit something like that? obviously he finna say its fake, why would he snitch on himself?
Actually it is real. He said he didn't rape Billy's mom though, he only put that in the song to add something. Go ahead for yourself and watch it on one of Vlads interviews
Back in the day when this first came out a lot of bloods were talking , like low key and supposedly this was very fucking real or a very similar situation. I know he has said publicly that it isn’t but in just telling you what was happening behind the scenes
I met immortal Technique for 5 minutes in Belfast back in 2011 and I can tell you I asked him about Dancing with the devil song and he knew what I was asking and he told me no he wasn't there but it is something that happens every day and he wanted it to be in the public domain and the best way for him to do that was to put himself in the story.
Never forget the first time I heard this, such a powerful song. And dont look too far into the admission of guilt at the end, just a device to give the story some weight. "with 'Dance with the Devil' it was a true story that I made myself more of a part of when I wrote the song, it became an urban legend and what's sick is that people thought it was about rape and it was really about how we are killing ourselves and destroying the most valuable resource that the Latino/Black community has, our women."
It's a cautionary tale about the streets. Immortal technique is known as a true lyricist that stands up for the people (just Google him). It's just a story about how truly messed up the streets can be.
Technique used to be the shiitt back in the day! You should check out point of no return, and another great story song by him is you never know.... I mean revolutionary vol 2 was pure fire!!
I've only watched a few of your videos but I knew I had to watch this one. I say that because I don't know you personally but I knew this song would deeply affect you (in a negative way) and please understand not everyone who hears it are affected the same. I'm glad to see that you have a soul, thank you for this reaction 💋💋
your reaction is literally everyones reaction when they first hear this song... its rough....deep..coincidental. but its real life. it happens....i literally had this song stuck in my head for days..i was saying damn! ..for days!
This song is no different than some 90 minute movie. It's a picture into the world we live in and a metaphor , much of what rap was intended to be. There are those who are willing to do the most horrific acts for acceptance by some group or to attain some superficial value, that is what the song is about.
The story is real but he implanted himself & told it in 1st person view for storytelling & dramatic effect. Putting yourself in it makes the message hit home for the listener, viewer, reader. Old skool technique
What i really like about technique is even in the interviews he's done; he wants younger rappers to not focus on glorifying drug dealing but instead talk about the effects these things have. He has many other really good songs to date he has out 4 albums revolutionary vol. 1, 2, the 3rd world, and the martyr.
I know other people have mentioned that it isn't a "true" story, but I thought I would add a bit more information to those people by quoting what he said about the song in an interview [along with a link for anyone to verify.] "... it became an urban legend and what's sick is that people thought it was about rape and it was really about how we are killing ourselves and destroying the most valuable resource that the Latino/Black community has, our women." www.brownpride.com/articles/article.asp?a=194 One of the cool things about Immortal Technique is that he took the profits from his album "The 3rd World" & built an orphanage in Kabul, Afghanistan for children orphaned from the war & run by a non-profit charity.
In a sense it's true. This happens every day, across the world. Honestly, it's not even as heinous as it gets. Anyone can be William; I think the genericnes of the name and the many different alterations to the name William are maybe why that name was picked. It's not hard to take a job, and want to reach the top; isn't that all of our goals? It's just, when you slip into the wrong career, things tend to get a little sticky...for someone at least.
it is a story that may or may not be real in it's essence. It is a story that may or may not be true factually. Either way it is a haunting story that carries a strong message that doing bad SH#T is never good. It is a great song when taken in context.
React to SPM, You know my name, Wiggy Wiggy, Hubba Hubba, Swim, Jackers in my home, In my hood and many others. You won't regret it plus you'll get more subscribers. He is one of the best storytellers you'll hear.
Sounds like a regular Tuesday in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Liberia, India, or Afghanistan. 😒 I felt like I couldn’t live with myself after listening to this song, this is the EPITOME OF EVIL. Such a Terrifying Hell on Earth. 🥺 Does anyone dare write the lyrics of this song from his mother/ victim’s perspective? How about a song of what happens to “Billy baddass” in the infernal abyss?
As said below, it's not a true story he tells. He's spoken about it in interviews before, you can look it up. He wrote the song to describe the things that happen in gang life in the United States. I know Country Boy here is a real thug on his streets, but you know, different cities have different circumstances. In some cities, the rims you have on your car determine your cool. In Texas, you can have a gangsta saddle on your horse.
TEXAS COUNTRY BOY yeah i saw it, what a great song. By the way i love your channel just subbed and im sending you all the love and respect from the Netherlands
no one knows if its fake or not, he said before it was fake, but why would he say its real for? thats snitching on himself, so if i was him i would obviously lie and say it was fake when i know its real
Cautionary tale about the paths we take as humans, how easy it is to become one with the devil. I read somewhere that the rape was a metaphor for what people do to their own community when they perpetuate violence.
Yeah it's not real, he just used his powerful story telling skills to tell a truth and shine a light on how easy it is to get caught in the "thug" life and how quickly you approach a point of no return without even realizing it until it's too late.
You missed the entire point of the song. It's not real but he's using it to tell a story for the moral purposes. I mean hell is last bar was "if the devil asked you to dance you better say never because A Dance with the Devil might last you forever". You missed the entire point
That right there is a lesson in life for any wanna be thug. If the devil asks you to dance, you better say never, coz a dance with the devil might last you for ever !
Great reaction! Everyone asks if it's true the first time but that's how amazing his storytelling skills are when you question reality. Also try his song "You Never Know" It's a love story. ua-cam.com/video/Bv7w200rrcs/v-deo.html
It's not real, it's quite evidently a cautionary tale but he wants u to think it's true because it adds to the weight. If he admitted to rape in a song he'd be in prison
You need to listen to it like 5 times before you start to really get all the lyrical tricks. It's a master piece.

its definitely a cautionary tale... but you also have to realize "there's a Billy Jacobs in every corner of every city."
