Plotting an episode of a show about soccer players as a rom com was pure genius. I finally caught on when they did the interview of the older couple. That last 10 minutes with Roy trying to get to the stadium was amazing!
This episode was, bar none, one of the greatest pieces of comedic TV ever. And over the course of 65 years, I’ve seen a lot of TV. Absolutely brilliant. And the great Roy realization sequence is pure gold…. I’m hoping Ted and Rebecca don’t become a couple, but become great friends. I don’t think they’re a good longterm fit, and Ted’s mostly about the long term. I didn’t even think his hookup with Rebecca’s friend worked.
This episode genuinely blew me away. The Christmas episode last week was so good I couldn't imagine they'd be able to top it. I love this show so much!
Agreed! The Christmas episode has been added to my list of must watch Christmas shows from now to eternity, right up there with Elf, Home Alone, A Christmas Story, Die Hard and the Grinch (animated version only)!
I loved the 'Rainbow' episode and can't count how many times I've re-watched it. I've shamelessly stolen Ted's 'What do get when you cross an Elephant with a Rhinoceros' line too. Classic Dad joke
I'm not sure I've seen a better interviewer than this, not sure if I was looking either. I have viewed a couple of these with her and Brett Goldstein, they're light hearted but also engaging. 👍🏻 Ohh, and Ted Lasso is the best television going currently. 🙂
At least Ted finally told the British owl joke. Also, towards the end of the episode there is a hint about the recipient of Rebecca's romantic messages. I think it's Ted.
Brett is thinking “Pretty Woman is likeable, but you cannot get past the monetary exchange for sex that the lead character wouldn’t have participated in if her life circumstances hadn’t forced her to = not romantic at all”
The plan for the series is 3 seasons. My best guess is . . . The end of this second season is Richmond wining themselves back into the Premier League. The end of "Ted Lazzo" 3rd and final season is Roy taking over as Head Coach (assisted by Coach Nathan) and Ted going back to the US, after Richmond wining the Premier League.
I did just read that they're planning on limiting this show to only 3 seasons - that's pretty unfortunate given how excellent every episode has been so far, the recognition everyone involved has gotten and all the stories that remain to be told. I also think (with my limited American knowledge of association football) that a longer buildup between relegation, promotion and eventually winning the Premier League would allow for a much bigger and more satisfying payoff in the end.
Could the mystery man be coach beard ? Like his buddy Ted lasso, Coach beard also has a litany of prominent writers and quotes in his head and he could also fit into the rom com narrative homage. The clues pointing to Ted lasso could just be a little trick by the writers.

Omg yes!!! Ted and Rebecca are so much better as friends!!!!
I’m thinking that sequence was a red herring…it’s too obvious.
Good thing it wasn’t Ted haha but I feel that it being Sam is just the same. Not good At all hahaha
@@proctor5005 LMAO so true! Felt all sorts of uncomfortable
@@proctor5005 I was so happy when they revealed that, once again subverting expectations
Brett Goldstein is a national treasure and must be protected at all costs
His sheer joy at appearing in Sesame Street is more heart warming than any Ted Lasso episode.

100% this!
So glad other ppl feel the same as me about this show.

"Shut up. Just shut up. You had me at 'coach'.. "
🤣🤣🤣 i can't.. I mean, that line is a go😂
So great she gets to do another Ted Lasso interview; excellent interviewer and obviously a super fan.
“I’m really unprofessional.”
Lmao 😂 I need to see the bloopers.
ua-cam.com/video/3UYYpn_OI2w/v-deo.html one jab lie soros and bill pcr test facility look it up a whole setup we must fight and resist as Americans
I don't blame him. I fell out of my chair at Ted's final, "as you wish."
I love the voice change for Roy
He's here, he's there, he's every-fucking-where, Roy Kent, Roy Kent!!
I love this show. Roy is such a great character

This show is such a cathartic experience every time I watch it. I re watch every episode before the next weeks show. Such a powerful show.

Nah... too obvious I think.
I think you’re right that it is Ted. If you notice after Rebecca sends her message then there is a scene showing Ted looking at his phone.
@@katarinalisa7105 It's obvious, but the messages Rebecca talks about are totally Ted's style. What point would there be in a misdirect here?
@@tubularbells0677 I’m assuming that the app has some kind of system that prevents either party from finding out the others number until both agree.

This is an excellent segment. Thank you.
Coach Kent. I like the sound of that.
I love all the wonderful, meaningful, perfect details in the show! The details are an important part of this brilliant show!

No. There's no path to promotion with their current points tally at Christmas.
@@benlangan958 Well there's surely a path to play-offs, if they don't lose a single game in the second half
@@TheeDelusionalOne I don’t know. And don’t call me “Shirley.”

I don’t see them winning the Premier League in Season 3, but qualifying for Euro or Champions League isn’t out of the question.
Just awesomeness! Feeling like a kid again with such great shows as this one!
Brett purposely listing every duo as a romcom except for Ted/Rebecca hmm......
It’s gonna happen!!!!
The Rom-Com episode is my favorite episode. The writing and delivery was genius. Roy F’ing Kent is the man and I LOVE Ted Lasso❣️
My goal is to meet the cast and hangout with them. It’s probably amazing
“Pretty Woman” is iconic!
Could the mystery man be coach beard ? Like his buddy Ted lasso, Coach beard also has a litany of prominent writers and quotes in his head and he could also fit into the rom com narrative homage. The clues pointing to Ted lasso could just be a little trick by the writers.
Holiday with Hepburn and Grant is the best rom-com of all time.
Probably my favorite episode
I’m one of the few idiots in the world who never knew she’s a 🌈 by The Rolling Stones… 🤦🏻♀️ Now I can’t stop hearing it and love it so much…
WAIT IS ROY IN THE DIAMOND DOGS NOW?!?
This is an urgent question!
It might take an entire season for him to come around to the idea, but it’ll be worth the wait when he does
I would sure love to see Emily Blunt play Ted’s love interest.
That would cost them a lot of money just to cast her.
Very true…they already spend a wad on copyrighted music. But, perhaps she is a raging fan and would work for scale!
AS YOU WISH!!
I love this man.
Yeah yeah cool show whatever, let’s talk about the CG work on Brett’s face. That’s some next level FIFA stuff there.
Who is the artist who sang She's Like A Rainbow in the Lasso episode?
It’s The Rolling Stones.
What does he say his favourite Romantic Comedy is? I couldn't quite catch it. thanks
When Harry Met Sally
Notting Hill . . .
I read on other comments
A spin off have Roy get hired as a high school football coach in Texas
