Sean Connery's last role as James Bond!
Unnoficial James Bond movie.
Love ✌️ ❤️ that guy he's legendary
The true villain of this movie was the government doing absolutely everything to *NOT* compensate military families for their losses.
Ed Harris has such a commanding presence. Film critics Roger Ebert and Gene Siskel once commented that he's just 5' 9" tall but dominates the scene whenever he's on screen.
My favourite Sean Connery line ever; "Your best? Losers always whine about their best; winners go home and F*** THE PROM QUEEN!"
That used to be my favorite line when The Rock first came out....
....that I'm older, I laugh and can relate to "I haven't got my glasses"
@@shawnkolozsy5579 Fair 👍
Despite being 66 years old at the time, Sean Connery did a good number of his own stunts in this movie. Including the scene where he and Nic Cage swam underwater with flames burning above them. In his youth Connery had been both a boxer and an aspiring bodybuilder and over the years, he kept in excellent shape.
Emma -- One thing you seemed to miss: Ed Harris's character had _already_ tried as many "other way"s as he could think of, but without success. This plan was his last resort.
RIP Sean Connery
Hummel said at his wife's grave that he already tried everything else to get through to the government, but they weren't listening. This was a last ditch effort.
One of the best action movies of 90 ! Sean Connery and Nicolas Cage unforgetabble duo , and Michael Biehn always die in almost movies he made.
His other roles include Kyle Reese in Terminator, and Johnny Ringo in Tombstone.
Love this movie!
There was going to be a sequel, where Nic Cage's Goodspeed goes on the run sfter he gets framed for trying to sell the microfilm on the black market and only Sean Connery's Mason tries to prove his Innocence. It was cancelled as Connery retired from acting, Nic Cage was too busy working on the NATIONAL TREASURE films and Michael Bay was too busy working on the TRANSFORMERS films
I never knew this! Gutted! This is one of my favourite films ever and I’d have loved a sequel!
Would have been good to see Mason reconcile with his daughter...
There's a theory that Mason is actually James Bond.
The part of the story that gets buried and forgotten about is that the military families still never get compensated.
Hi Emma, nice to see you!😊 Another action packed Nicholas Cage film with an all star cast is "Con Air" (1997). Great reactions to this fine Connery/Cage action film, Emma!!!!🎬👏👏👏👏
I'll check it out👍
@@EmmaReactions Please do!
Put the bunny back in the box 😂
@@EmmaReactionsawesome review as always love your videos ❤
You got the whole world in your haaands @@Imyerda
Ed Harris presence is undeniable! Another great movie of him is “enemy at the gates”, hope you didn’t see it already, greetings from Peru!
If you want more Ed Harris, you should see Radio (2003)! It’s a brilliant story, and he plays such a good man.
John Mason (Sean Connery) is 007. That's right... He's James Bond. Amazing cast, excellent screenplay and brilliant music score.
Unnoficial James Bond movie.
One of the most underrated 90's action movies.
One of the very best 90s action movies for sure
If you like Ed Harris (General Hummel), i'd recommend the movie "The Abyss" if you haven't already seen it. He's among my favorite actors.
This is one of my favourite action movies from the 90s! Ed Harris is so charismatic on screen. Could you consider reacting to The Abyss and Enemy at the Gates? They're both films Harris stars in with extremely different roles and both are masterpieces!
You’re really lucky that you have so many Sean Connery movies to watch for the first time. He’s one of the actors I really miss. Must add that you mention Cage and Harris too but Michael Biehn acting in shower scene and discussion with Harris was I think the best part of the movie.
The Rock is my all-time favourite!
A great movie with Sean Connery is The Untouchables with Kevin Costner, Robert De Niro, and Andy Garcia. A 1930's true story about the take down of the famed Chicago mob boss Al "Scarface" Capone.
Hi, I hope it is not too late for a bit of explanation that you might missed (judging by the "afterthoughts") :) The intro of the movie is practically a recap of one of missions that Harris commanded, where you can hear the communication between him and his ground team in one of the "spec ops" missions he later spoke about. In short, the team was found, attacked and destroyed "on-line", while Harris tried to get them out by sending Helicopters, but the "command" did not approved of any flights in the area, including evac. So his team was butchered while he had to listen to it and could not do anything to save them. It was probably last of his missions, but not only one that ended with "his" soldiers abandoned to die.
Because those operations were top secret, practically "never happened and we will deal with you if you think otherwise", those soldiers and their families were also abandoned by Gov. IKD how it works with US Millitary, but usually your family get at least something if you die in action, be it financial help, some social programs etc. But since there was no "killed in action", they got nothing, usually not even Military funeral, which is historically considered the bare minimum for your service. Harris tried everything he could peacefully to get something for those dead soldiers and their families, but US did what it does best with its citizens and gave nothing (look up how Veterans end on the streets homeless if you want). Anyway, as long as his wife was alive, he kept trying peacefully, but seeing it goes nowhere, and with his wife dead, he had nothing to lose and tried one last thing to bring justice for those dead soldiers. But as you saw in the film, US Command did not even considered paying, they just went right into killing plans. It is a movie, but there is too much reality to it to ignore, sadly.
Anyway, I hope this helps clear out the reason for the whole operation, and why there was no "peace solution". Have a great day and may you enjoy other films at least as much as this one :)
Ed Harris killed in this
I agree with you on Ed Harris character and his acting. Superb performance!
Emma... this film reminds me to recommend the James Bond films in chronological theatrical release order. The franchise starts with Sean Connery (Mason in "The Rock") in "Dr. No."
Bond. James Bond.
Some say this is actually the final "Connery" James Bond movie.
Emma, this is my fave of your reactions. Well done. What a great movie. 90s cheese but so awesomely action packed and I was born in San Fran. The late Sean Connery says 'Welcome to the Rock" and it goose bumps me every time. Can't wait for next one.
As an Angelino it pains me to admit it, but San Francisco is the greatest city in the world for car chases.
Interesting Fact: David Morse plays George Washington in the 2008, HBO released John Adams Miniseries, alongside Paul Giamatti, who plays the main Character. A great 7 part miniseries about the founding of the USA from The viewpoint of John Adams. I highly recommend reacting to that series. Also, Nicolas Cage and Ed Harris star together in National Treasure: Book of Secrets. A great sequel. Great reaction to a great film, Emma.
Soldier: Suffocating while his skin melts after being exposed to the most dangerous weapon on earth
Emma: "Oh no, you should be EXTRA careful with this"
I was almost on the floor laughing at this part. 🤣 You're adorable Emma
Emma you have such a beautiful kind soul.
Brilliant reaction
Hi Emma...you should recognize some familiar faces in this film:
Michael Beihn (Johnny Ringo in Tombstone, Kyle Reese in The Terminator)
David Morse (prison guard Brutal in The Green Mile)
The real hero" "Seal us inside"
Also has one of the best Sean Connery quotes that is still so pertinent in the states, especially these days. If anyone can guess it, I’ll be impressed.
I was watching this movie when my mom walked in and asked which James Bond movie was this.
" You must never hesitate"
Hi Emma, I come from Germany and just have to give her a huge compliment without being asked. I follow your music reactions and your film reactions. 1. YOU have a great selection of songs and films. 2. You just look amazing. 3. Your reactions are so beautifully honest and emotional. Thanks for making these videos.
Has the same intensity of a Bond flick. 🎉🎉😅
26:50 This is James Bond energy
One of Bay's best movies, and one of those movies where you can empathize with the villain. He's not a bad guy, but feels he's got no other course of action.
The fan theory is that John Mason is really James Bond. Some claim the timeline for the Connery Bond movies aligns with this movies timeline. We just got a new 007. It's fun watching the movie again, imagining Mason is Bond.
One of my favs movies, Love your react! as always🥰
B.T.W there`s a theory that indicates that Sean Connery`s character. John Patrick Mason is in fact James Bond 😉
Emma watching all the good stuff!
This is one of Nicolas Cages’ best movies. I would say “Con Air” “Face-Off” are some others.
A nearly perfect action film; thank u Michael Bay 🎉
Welcome to The Rock. Sean Connery
Unofficial Bond movie :)
Sean played it as an older disavowed James Bond except the army part, bond was navy. RIP Sir Sean. My dream Bond movie that was hinted but never confirme was for Bond to be a code name passed with the 007 number. Would have loved to have seen Sean back as M with a new James Bond under him. Perhaps Dalton or Brozman could pull it off, perhaps in His Majesty's Secret Service. UK has a king with two princes in the direct line so the title is a must.
Great movie!
11:21 Yes Girl it is A Russian weapon. Really a Soviet weapon, we hear the accent
Great reaction! I hope you enjoyed your visit to NY.
Oh yeah it was great 👍😉
Great reaction 🔥💯
Nice reaction Emma, one my favorites, glad to see it on your channel. 🙂🤍
this movie one of the best!
great reaction emma hope you had a good trip
36:10 Civil War Castle, in the west? I love this film, mostly Sean Connery
Thats James bond 007 baby
Love. This. Movie!!! And hey, if you have time, see how this music lines up to Pirates of the Carribean. Hanz did them both!
The Abyss, is a good movie wit Ed Harris in it, “Needful Things” is good too.
i wish the abyss and true lies came out on the 4k disc format.
Ahhhh…classic late 90’s Micheal Bay is still so much fun! Kinda crazy that VX is actually a real thing!
Great movie Emma
Enjoyed your reaction. Sean Connery's stunt double had almost as much screen time as he did.
A true *EDGE OF YOUR SEAT* movie...
knockin' on heaven's door (1997 film)
48:55 The Air Force had orders from the President, They could only abort through Federal channels, it took time. He dropped bombs when he hears abort
Chain of command
Example The planes that went over Hiroshima and Nagasaki. President command
That is a tough mission, they knew they had something in the payload that was different
Great movie I have seen it in the theater and 20 times since! Great reaction!
If you like Ed Harris (the main ‘baddy’ in this movie) you should watch:
Enemy at the Gates
The Truman Show
The Abyss
Apollo 13
And he’s the baddy in National Treasure 2 too.
Did you have a good time in NYC? I hope you did. This is also another movie i've never seen before.
they WANTED 100 MILLION DOLLARS:. the US SPENDS FREAKING 877.000 MILLION per year !! and they wouldnt pay a dust corn of 100 M ... i know its fictional but still, these proportions.
41:18 “…his eyes, I thought he was fine man.” 🤣
Ed Harris is one of the greatest actors who ever lived. But they showed in the beginning that he tried other ways, talking to congress before his wife died but he got nowhere.
Very, Very, Very..Nice
I live not far from the town of Newport Indiana where up until a few years ago there was a military base that stored this stuff. I remember right after 9/11 the people in and around Newport feared terrorist would target said base. The base has sense been decommissioned and sold to a dog food company. Great video
Movie Face/Off John Travolta y Nicolas Cage
Your reaction was as good as the movie... excellent
love you Emma
If only they had gofundme
Yeah, that part of the story never gets addressed again after the first act.
😊 Another great reaction. 👏👏😊🥰
Thank you!! 😁
"Are you sure you're ready for this?"
"I'll do my best."
"Your BEST?! Losers always whine about their best. Winners go home and fuck the prom queen."
"Carla WAS the prom queen."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
Fun Fact: Theatrical movie debut of Vanessa Marcil.
Living On The Rock Fact: Sir Sean Connery insisted the producers build a cabin for him on Alcatraz, as he didn't want to travel from the mainland to the island every day. He got what he asked for.
Location Location Fact: The scene in which FBI Director Womack (John Spencer) is thrown off the balcony was filmed on-location at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, California. The filming led to numerous calls to the hotel by people who saw a man dangling from the balcony.
SEAL Stuck Fact: Michael Biehn, who has played Navy SEALs or some variation thereof on multiple occasions, apparently grew unsure of himself while acting for the first time here against real SEALs He told Michael Bay he was freezing up pretending to be the leader in front of them, as well as in Sir Sean Connery's presence.
Disney Sucks Fact: There were tensions during shooting between director Michael Bay and Walt Disney Studios executives who were supervising the production. On the commentary track for the Criterion Collection DVD, Bay recalls a time when he was preparing to leave the set for a meeting with the executives and was approached by Sir Sean Connery in golfing attire. Connery, who also produced this movie, asked Bay where he was going, and when Bay explained that he had a meeting with the executives, Connery asked if he could accompany him. Bay complied, and when Bay arrived in the conference room, the executives' jaws dropped when they saw Connery appear behind him. According to Bay, Connery then stood up for him, and insisted that he was doing a good job and should be left alone.
and me just keep wait: Сollateral 2004
Sean Connery was 66 in this movie
WOW!!!! It's cool!!!
Nice one, Emma! You should watch The Right Stuff sometime, about the beginnings of the astronaut program. Ed Harris and several other good actors are in it. Thanks for sharing this one. 🙂
I'll check it out!
If there is no such general in the star-spangled country. Then she won't live to see her 250th birthday.
"What kind of F***ED UP tour is this?"
Since you liked Ed Harris so much you’ve got to add The Abyss and Apollo 13 to your list. (If you haven’t seen them already).
Any plan to watch Dune, with Hans Zimmer's beautiful music, one of the best in decades imo.
Another movie with Nicolas Cage, but I missed your singing at the beginning of the reaction more or less in the same style as you did at the beginning of the reaction for the first movie with Cage. I suggest starting with the singing tradition. Would be nice.

Notice how progressive Hollywood is so pro abortion, yet in their movies the 'choice' is never addressed. Cage's character, nor his 'fiance' never questions the fate of their child. They are going to have a baby.
What a film I grew up on this as a young man ❤ As action films go this has absolutely everything other than a hot lady whooping arse and to look at.
One of the best of Nic Cage, now Con Air. Greetings from Germany
*Cage
Thanks for listening
The premise of this film is so corny it should be cringe, yet its artist gold, with explosion's!

Honestly... This is the ONLY reaction to this movie that I liked... And in this movie I only sympathized with the character of Ed Harris... This movie doesn't show everything, everything would never miss censorship.. I know that.. But .. This "The Last argument of the Kings" slightly opens the curtain for some things if you can read between the lines... But everything was retouched with scenes... And the whole movie is divided into episodes: the beginning of the film, the call to the FBI, the call to the Pentagon, the speech of the SEAL commander in front of the mission, the massacre in the shower room, the monologue after the massacre in the shower, the dialogue before the call to the president, the president's monologue, and the scene of going to the attack on the island... A few mistakes of the main antogonist of the film - the use of his people in the dark and the choice of the target, because if the missiles were aimed at the Pentagon or the white house, then any actions of the government would be a political murder, and to make public your mission in the media... But this is only a movie…God bless you and thanks again for you reaction
I know hes likely a dishonorably discharged marine....but still. In 'The Rock' there is a marine, with....a man bun....😢
YOU NEED TO EDIT YOURSELF, YOU TALK TOO MUCH DURING THIS WHOLE THING
