GREAT VIDEO! very helpful a must watch if you are going to assemble this shed. I watched this video over a year ago and put this shed together the next day with no problems! This is a great video and helped me so much I'm watching it again because I am building another one tomorrow.
Thank you so much for this excellent video!!! I lost my mind and over an hour of time trying to get 1 window installed on a door. The gasket kept falling out, and then when it didn't fall out, the holes weren't lining up. After many attempts, I ended up drilling the hole on the door big enough so that I could see where the screws go into the window frame. Tomorrow, I'm using your method for the second window. Holy cow, I can't even put into words how frustrated I was😂. I know that a China man was laughing at me.
I know exactly the level of frustration. Finally gave up on the windows and moved on. If it wasn't for this video, my next step would be taping the oversized gasket to the channel. I'm so excited to take another Crack at it tomorrow.
I will be honest. Suncast installation instructions, SUCK ! When I called customer support about not having instructions the girl said I can download and print them. The second slap was, their video was crap as well ! You should copyright your video and then sell it to Suncast. Thank you very much for all the help ! Guys thank you so very much, your attention to detail in explaining how to put this puppy 🐶 together is impressive; it’s almost like you built it first and then reassembled it to explain how to put it together; I’ve seen other videos and they just don’t explain it the way you did! Next time, tell your helper to say 👋 hello, we don’t bite! 😅
This was a fantastic video. We erected one of these today in Bermuda and pretty much ignored the instruction manual. Thanks SO much for taking the time to make this video.
Thanks very much for the video, made it easier once I tackled this myself. Just shy of 7 hours from opening first box to completion (with one short break and a lunch break). Like you and others, had some difficulty with the window gaskets staying in place. I used very small pieces of electrical tape to hold them in place until I got a few screws started. But that was only after I struggled for about 30 minutes on the very first window (ugh...). Also had issues getting the very last roof panel in place. Again like others, had to loosen some truss rod screws and bolts so there was room to maneuver. Still had problems getting the last couple screws in place, used a clamp to pull things tight to the truss. Once everything was in place and retightened, the entire structure stiffened up and felt very secure. Very pleased with the purchase, for what it is and for the money I think it's one of the best resin sheds you can buy. We don't expect it to last 30 years, but if we can get the warranty period of 10 years and then perhaps a little bit, we feel we will have gotten our money's worth.
Thanks so much for this tutorial. We erected an 8x7 shed. The only time we referred to the instruction manual was for the A-frame. The long beam does not have that extra piece for length. I was thinking we were missing a piece.😂
Excellent video. Now I have to get two of these for my place. Got to keep the wife happy! I found you did a perfect explaination of what had to be done. Thank You!
Thanks for the video. I used it to assembly my 8x10. So much easier than using the directions. When putting in window gaskets I used small pieces of ducktape to hold the gasket in place. It helped speed up the process. Your idea on the sky lights gasket with the screws sticking out was a great idea. Thanks again.. Awesome video.
I am so glad you made this video! :))) You are very good at explaining this process. I bought the 6x5 version of this shed and I got it all together except for the roof panels. I wasn't sure exactly how they went on and where those metal strips went. My instruction booklet wasn't very helpful in explaining it. I had a heck of a time getting the plexiglass screwed down over the gasket on the doors but I managed to get it with the help of a screw driver. Those little screen vents are pretty lame. They shorted me on screws so I put some silicone around the edges of the screens to hold it good and keep any bugs from crawling inside. I'm going to attempt to put my roof panels on today 😬Thanks again for posting! ☺
This video was really helpful. The small tips (like fitting the top screw for the door first) helped a long way. I and my wife were able to fit the shed in 2 days (with breaks). We pretty much ignored the manual except for a few location references. This is our first DIY project and it turned out to be very well. Thanks to this video!
Great video, it helped a lot in speeding things up. A couple of things, on the trusses, the ridge bracket CC goes under the truss legs AA. Also, on the doors, I assembled them on a table where I could lay everything in place and then have the window edge over the table edge so I could put the screws in from below, that worked quite well.
Thanks, my son and I finished this in about 8hrs with a 15mim break, the most difficult part compared to the rest of it which was pretty easy was screwing in the windows on the doors and pushing the rear roof to align with the railing. Other than that it was just tedious.
This video was very helpful. I was struggling to get the last roof panel aligned and once I removed the screw in the truss assembly, I had more wiggle room to line up the roof panels. I ended up using the video vs. the manual to finish the project. Just got done loading up the shed!
Mine is a year old, i caulked the inside and built it in the shade, if you're not building it on a cement foundation as i did, make sure your platform is level. it won't go together if its off, such as the door or roof not fitting right. mine has held up fine with no leaks or other issues. I read the reviews on it, and it doesn't hold up well in the direct sun in hot climates.
Nicely done video and very clear instructions. Maybe when August comes around again, you can do a one year review, along with the things you like and dislike about it.
Dude your awesome. Thanks for this. Directions sucked. Because of this i got that thing up minus the doors in 3.5 hours by myself. Did the doors this am
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage Although my surface was level, I noticed when I raised the right front corner the first roof panel of left side lined up a lot better, not perfect but doable. So I continued adding the remaining two roof panels and those went into place perfect. The only problem was my doors were now cock-eyed. The doors were a bit better after removing the shims but one has to be forced to close.
Just put ours up with my son, took two days working at a leisurely pace. Regarding the door window gaskets. I just laid a bead of contact adhesive in the channel before laying down the gasket and had no problem securing everything from inside the door. After it was put together, we used clear waterproof caulking in all of the seams from the inside. With storms tonight, we will see if any more is needed.
I would definitely run some extra brackets inside for some added structure, and with these plastic floors the best thing to do would pour a cement pad and anchor it ua-cam.com/video/k2rqGQavynY/v-deo.html
Greetings. Thank you, Danny, for your very helpful video. Would you recommend cutting out a small section of the floor to accommodate a well pump and tank?
Thanks for your video, i watched it 5 times with my 10 years old son before i started assembling mine. Just got it done today with the help of my son (didnt really need his help, just wanted that father and son experience) I notice the door doesnt want to close unless i pull really hard up to get the bottom to clear, but then the top ends up being too high up to tuck inside the frame, did you have this issue?
Would adding a bead of non-hardening adhesive sealant in the slots be helpful when assembling the floor, walls and roof panels, and maybe in the corner panels? Not so much for strength, but for keeping critters and bugs out, and perhaps extra water sealing.
We had put one up 5 years ago in our pool area. Same brand and color, but our windows are round. Our area is pretty level, but not sure if it's just wear or from the weather but all the corners are cracking, so you can see daylight through it.

Hi, thanks for sharing so how is it holding up? And also I noticed there was quite a bit of spaces where I seen daylight coming through the gabs did you do any kind of caulking or weatherproofing? Thanks
It’s holding up well and I am really enjoying it. No leaks, and most of the light between the cracks was fixed with someone pushing on the outside while I put the screws on from the inside. I just got another modern Suncast, similar installation and I’ll do a video on it but I like this one far better

My thought was to build one of these in the corner of the room, place a Twin XL bed and a night stand and wardrobe into. It only has the two vents on the top front and back that you will see. It’s not insulated, so some airflow and pressure will go through the cracks, but I do not think that is a safe idea.
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage No need for insulation, the house is insulated, it's just colder because the basement is underground. I'll probably contact the manufacturer and ask them about it, but you're probably right I doubt it would be an approved use.

Has your shed holding up. Mines terrible warping , I’m taking legal action with suncast
It’s not very old yet, but the roof panels were already warped from just being in the sun in the box for one day
