Oh Jon, you have me crying like a baby man. I sincerely hope you close all books once you meet your mom. Regardless of their status in life, this is a triumph for you, and you are a courageous young man. Be strong and keep going.👉💪🙌
Nothing wrong with crying. It’s actually how humans naturally regulate their emotions. Why we have so many dysfunctional humans around as we are taught due to patriarchy and toxic masculinity that crying is for the weak or girly. And why men can’t connect with their emotions or show emotions aka empathy and compassion… it’s all connected.
I'm sure this young mans life will change for the better having met his dad. Dad seems to be in a good healthy place and may their relationship continue to grow on a positive road
It warms my heart of hear and see how his father changed his life for the better. That was not easy at all but he did it! He won the battle. What a beautiful soul.
Jon is super forgiving and a kind young man. I hope his dad treasures that. I really think Jon will become a wonderful father in the future. He just has that in him, that deep quality of what really matters.
being in rehab, I saw a lot of fathers considering themselves "deadbeat"... But to see almost all of them able to see their kids again, even after 20 years of being estranged, It's the most wholesome thing to see a man cry tears of joy. The feeling of seeing your child again after coming to terms with never being apart of their lives. Family is family, and i hope these two are closer today than ever before. God bless them both, and huge props to the son for the effort he put in to connect with him again.
I had a child that I doubted was mine. I asked for a paternity test and she refused for 9 years. Finally she agreed to a dna test and I was wrong. I had already missed part of my son’s life and I couldn’t live my life this way. My son is 25 now we have built something amazing.

OK! so I watched the entire season 11, 10 episodes b2b and what a gem of a show! I love the activities & challenges but most of all meeting long lost relatives (especially their Mom or Dad). I am hooked on this extra special series! It's beautifully heartfelt & moving! Can't stop watching, guess I'm going to be late for work in the morning lol!
Wow this one really touched me. You can see the son has been through so much trauma. I hope he is healing and is finding love in this world 💕 wish him the best x
I was doing ok, making it through this one without crying… until that ending. Goodness! I am so happy for Jon! Tears of happiness joined his tears of joy.
I am so happy for you and your dad, hope everything works out for you both. I hope you get to meet your mother and please keep us posted on your life story, would love to follow along. May god bless you all, keep your strength.
holy moley, i just watched only 2 episodes related to this one (race), WOW! How did i not know about this show? if you look into this series get a HUGE box of tissues! What a beautiful series!! guess I'll be doing B2B for a while!
As a Mom to a grown son this hurts me deeply to hear he struggled with depression, feeling lost, unwanted, wondering why, where do you fit in life? I am so glad you met you Dad and hopefully you can meet your Mom. You are loved and worthy of love, sweet young man, never forget that. Hugs and love from a Mom in Canada
I hope Jon got to meet his mom and I hope time has only strengthened the love between him and Neal. I hope he and Cantrell are still together and happy. Any updates would be welcomed.

Oh my heart 😢 Young man your worth is not wrapped up in anything of this world. Your worth comes from Jesus and the blood He shed for you. Anything else is just gravy. I pray you have a gravy train headed your way. If I was there I would give you a big Auntie hug 🤗
Remember you are strong just as you are, you do not need anything nor anyone to achieve what you set your mind to. With that said family sure helps alot

I am a genealogist so I know first hand how difficult it is for someone to finally make that decision to look for their loved one, especially parents. While adopted kids can come for a wonderful home, there is always a missing piece that you can't seem to find. Something is always off about you until you meet your parents. Then it all comes together.
These reunions are beyond awesome and so heartbreaking but I can't help but wonder how many of them work out long term. We had such a situation in my own family (me being the uncle) and the reunion was provably one of the happiest times in my adult life. To have this person "back". But after a while, year after year, holiday after holiday, problems developed to the point we do not speak. And now I wish none of it happened. Thoughts?
@@RelativeRace_BYUtv I just met a brother and that was great, I can only imagine what it is like to meet a parent...I hope you have a great time making up for lost time. You seem like a wonderful young man!

I love you Jon, you're a lovely person! I am very moved by your tears, and hope with all my heart you and your Dad grow closer yet, to each other. May the Lord Jesus draw the three of you (Mom included,) to know Him, and to know one another more. Blessings to the three of you, from an elderly lady.
Your parents made you But they don’t make you whole .. your an amazing soul … maybe you don’t want that image of your mamma kiddo :-/ yes you will have answers, you will have seen her , As well as She seen you . Someplace in her heart it will be locked away .. then the embarrassment will come .. that she won’t want you to see her that way,, and she may leave .. walk easy when you see her first .. stand back and watch her … sometimes that world is too hard to leave behind, outsiders see danger insiders feel safe … when no other has … I will keep you all in my thoughts !!!
I’m so sick of addicts ruining their children’s lives!! I’m raising a child now left behind by addicts!! The trauma they have caused this precious little one is beyond comprehension!!! Therapy isn’t even making a breakthrough!!
Please think about the addicted parent other than it sickens you. They are sickened by a choice based on trying something that latched on to them and won't allow them to put it down. They are ashamed of themselves for that choice, but until there's a renewed mind, there is no way of escape from the bondage of whatever the substance is.
That look of serenity on the kid's face when he's hugging his father is so powerful ❤😢🤗

no need for DNA testing... the eye color, the whole feature, he is the older version of his Son, and he is the younger version of his Dad!
No clue who my birth father is. My birth mom passed already so I can’t ask her. I was adopted out at birth. A lot of questions but it is what it is.

Can you take some dna tests, like ancestry and/or others? Even if you find other relatives, they might be able to lead you to him.
