Streets of Rage 2 was my jam when I was younger. Still blast through it with my older brother even nowadays. Shadowrun is another favorite from my youth
The music in Bloodlines is so good it seems almost impossible on the Genesis. Like, I don't even know how they technically made those sounds on that chip.
How much love I have for Mystic Cave Zone is unreal. The BGM always had me hyped. Not that much of a difference of Chemical Plant Zone… man. I love Sonic 2!
OMG! I've played all except for Castlevania! I blind bought the McDonald's game back in the day. Never thought much of whether or not it was a good game. It just appealed to me as a ten year old back then. Now 30 years later, this was indeed a very good platformer.
I had a Sega Genesis as a kid and I played my share of 2D games. I remember that Ronald McDonald game and I did play it and I also played Aladdin. There was also a Super Nintendo version but the Genesis version was better. Streets of Rage 2 I didn't actually play in the 90s but I did play it years later. That game's music was composed by Yuzo Koshiro who has worked on many, many games. I also wont argue that Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is still an amazing game even today. I like the third game slightly more but Sonic 2 had some awesome levels and a banger soundtrack
@@Aragorn7884I tried a lot as a kid and an adult, but it doesn't compare to Turtles in Time imo. The lack of being able to throw enemies at the screen and the lame boss rush, along with less stages affected the game negatively.

Castlevania Bloodlines is extremely ease yo afford...it's in the Castlevania Anniversary Colletion which constantly goes on sale for like $5. It's also among the Genesis games available through Switch Online + Expansion Pass
Solid list great 👍 if I were to make this list for someone that didnt grow up with genesis & wants to start with 10 must plays on genesis, I would replace Comix Zone with Golden Axe, World of illusion with Castle of illusion and Musha with McDonalds game 👍 they're grrat games eobt get ne wrong but for a new gen player, Comix Zone is way difficult, Castle of illusion is single player, a shooter is a must and Golden Axe should be introduced to any new comer even if you have to remove another great game. Only 10? Heck, I have a folder with 218 Sega 16 bit games worth playing. And then I'm not sure that it is all of them because, there is always a hidden treasure that you don't know about, until you stumble on it randomly.
Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master should have been mentioned for this list. It has a banger of a soundtrack! My second choice would have been Thunder Force IV (known as Lightening Force: Quest for the Darkstar in North America).

Comix zone is only good superficially playing for a short time. Actually try to complete it and you'll find it get stupidly and unfairly difficult with unavoidable damage. Shame really as its a really creative concept
Really should include the true name for it being the MegaDrive in the title even in brackets as the majority of the world knows it as the MegaDrive not the Genesis, and sorry but Sonic 3 is far more worth a play than Sonic 2 as its just the better sonic game.
