This is my second video of yours that I watched - and totally enjoyed. I like your approach and helpfulness. Thank you having a passion to share your love of Cross Stitch designers that are different. I watch Flosstubers because of their personality, the stitching comes third, I enjoy learning new stuff so that might be second on the list, because I can't watch someone whose style is not for me. 😂 I am a returning stitcher and have been stitching for a year so I like seeing older stuff. I made some notes to go check out later on. Yay!

I am the owner of 1884 Stitchery, and I have begun to re-release the Threads of Gold patterns. I don't own HandWork, Bright Needle or Willow Hill, I only sell the patterns that I acquire. I am in the process of purchasing Sheepish Designs. Great video.

Please finish your oldest WIP! It is fantastic! Rovaris is a wonderful designer. She presents her designs by way of very interesting and different finishing. She’s also been designing more samplers (or reproducing🤷♀️). This is why I can’t stop buying her kits!

As I am watching and listening to you, I’m stitching on an Examplars From The Heart, Thankful Heart! As for Barbara Anna there was a SAL going on for Santa’s Trips. Also for Lila’s Studio there are several going on for her Quacker series. The Hygge Stitcher started over the winter a SAL for Spring and now she’s SALing the Summer. So… you never know what’s getting stitched if you don’t watch everyone & you/we can’t watch everyone. BTW this video was fabulous! I have to watch again to take/make notes. I did learn about a few designers & I like/love some of their patterns. Thank you. Happy Stitching
I completely agree with you in discovering the neglected designs. There are so many wonderful forgotten charts. I peruse the selling pages on Facebook to get a bargain, but I also see all the older ones that I never knew. Some of them are out of this world beautiful. I have to admit I get bored with a lot of Flosstubes that just feature stitching the same newest designs. I really appreciate you putting this video together with a topic that nobody mentions.
Love everything about this video. I have tons of these older designers charts. I tend to collect them! I love stitching the older things. The hype of new things and seeing everyone stitching the same thing makes me not interested in many charts. People feed off the marketing frenzy these days. Thanks for another great visit. I wish some of the older designers could see what is happening now in the Stitchy world. I wish Edna from Emli’s(Threads of Gold) could see how popular reproduction samplers are currently. She had a magnificent collection and was so knowledgeable and talented. ❤️Happy Stitching.

I so enjoyed seeing the little OB tape measure. One of the pediatricians we saw had a very similar tape measure. You forget about these things. Ah, little stitched designers, where does one start? I have at least one chart of from 3/4 of these designers and many from several of them. Have I stitched them? .... a few.... (In fact, I just kitted a Lila's Studio today.) Some I bought over the years and "life" happened and new stuff came out. Others I picked up on secondary market after seeing someone stitched or sold one. Others because I found a designer I liked and had to have more. Computers made buying cross stitch easy and much more expensive. Marketing is such a great part of what gets stitched. If a floss tuber mentions a chart or book; people are all over it. And unless you actively organize your charts and look through them occasionally, you tend to forget what you have. I went through all my charts a couple of years ago and found very few of them that hadn't aged well and that I still liked them. I have no problem stitching something that others think dated if I still enjoy it. I buy new but much of what I stitch is OOP or older. Boy, do I have a thing for "Birds of a Feather"! If "Blackbird Designs" comes out with a new piece, I buy it but stitch an old one. One of the reasons I stitch so much OOP stuff (besides liking it) is I want to get the charts back out on the market. A couple of designers you could add to the list: "Rosewood Manor", "Brenda Keys (I forget who she designs as)", and "The Good Huswife". Karen is such a prolific designer of such beautiful charts and doesn't get the recognition she deserves. Sheepish Designs also designed under Sheepish Antiques. Nat, you do you, I always enjoy your videos as it is like I'm sitting across the room from you and we are having a conversation.

I agree! I’m still new to this but I have watched a ton of Floss tube and not seen those designers. I love the way you advocate for the underdogs (so to speak). Loved this video. Make them as long as you like 😊.
What a treat!!!! I have lots of charts from designers you mentioned, and I intend to stitch most of them as these are quite unique as compared to many of the designs offered today. I had not heard of Kaniki's, and they are up my alley as well. - My first time watching any of your videos, and I will be back for more. Thank you.

Great flosstube!! Back in the day I stitched and collected alot of Cricket designs. I am currently stitching Weeping Tree Sampler by The City Stitcher and have the sunflower chart you showed. Hope to find some Workbasket charts!! Love the Merry Christmas by Margaret and Margaret!!😻
I just want to let you know I enjoyed your video and When you said Margaret and Margaret I had to comment. I was at my local cross stitch store and in the back of the store as I am discovering the store I found there clearance area. So I go looking through it and I find not one not two but three Margaret & Margaret Dickens’s Christmas Carols stockings I payed $3.25 each for the patterns. I looked into them and the series I believe are 7 different stockings taking you through the whole story. As I am a total Dickens fan I am now on the look for the other patterns. Wish me luck. You are the only person who I have heard that talked about Margaret and Margaret. 😅
Thanks for the nice designer reviews. I'm familiar with most of them since I've been stitching for so long. I love the Santa design from Tournicoton....cute finish! That is one I'm not familiar with. I will be looking for that one.

Hey I think your Moira Blackburn 3 Things fits into another category- what to do as your eyes age! Save that aida for later (LOL I already stitch 98% on Aida) Lol Frida Kahlo. I finished that Barbara Ana Santa Rides 😍 She has Christmas ornaments in PNPS👍 One of my favorite designers.
Love the video. Thank you for taking the time to expose me to designers and charts that are not currently mainstream. Love this but was a bit overwhelmed. So many. Maybe you could add a segment to your regular video and just highlight one or two of these designers at a time. Thanks again for a great video.

I really enjoy your videos..They are much more informative than I lot of flosstubes I've seen. It was fun to see some designers I wasn't familiar with. I agree with you about Etsy's search engine--it's terrible! I was delighted to see the designs from Tournicoton. You showed the Santa pillow on a previous video and I fell in love! Since then I've been searching everywhere for her patterns. I finally did find the ones at Silver Needle and ordered them. But I see a lot more of her Santas on Pintrest--with no info for finding the patterns. If you ever find a source for these, please let me know!

This is a dangerous video for someone who is minimizing her collecting this year. You've mentioned several designers that I'm familiar with because I've been stitching and collecting since I graduated from college, but you showed some charts that I'd never seen before.
Lila's Studio has been pretty popular in several of the groups I belong to and the flosstubes that I watch; her Halloween Quaker has been shown quite a bit along with her Spring Quaker and Summer Quaker. They're fun designs, the charts are high quality and they stitch easily.
I think another thing that has led to some of the designs and designers you mention being a bit overlooked is the demise of the brick and mortar LNS in so many areas. For example, I had a shop just over an hour from my home. The owners retired and couldn't find anyone to buy the business. Now the closest shop to me that I've been able to find is about 4 hours away - not exactly conducive to a short shopping trip. When you don't have the opportunity to see models stitched - especially in a shop that has been established for several years and has accumulated a history of stitched models, you don't necessarily see designs that aren't newly released, talked about all over social media and being stitched by lots of people. I hope that like you I can help bring awareness to some of these gems in the parts of the community that I frequent because I enjoy stitching designs that not everyone is stitching. If I'm working on something and then go watch flosstube, browse instagram and my facebook feed and all I see are the same few designs, it gets a bit boring. So if I'm stitching on something, and go to social media and admire everyone's work on something other than what I'm stitching, I enjoy it more. 🪡👠

I didn’t buy anything from market. My goal is not to buy any new charts this year. I only will buy threads of fabric on a need basis. I did buy some charts from a thrift store that are from the 90’s. At 75 years old I have plenty to stitch. None of my family or friends stitch. My children or hubby aren’t into the samplers I’ve stitched. Most of my pieces will disappear with me. I’m not framing anything except the 2 Brenda Keyes samplers I finished this past winter.
