Hi Demis, thanks for considering my suggestion about supersaws I posted earlier! So just to make it clear for myself: timbre and character are your tools to make multiple supersaws work together? It makes sense when you're thinking of an arrangement. You're not going to let the electric guitar get in the range of the bass guitar when you're playing with a band. It's just that trance music seems to use a lot of similar sounds in the mix, in which my conclusion is you'll have to set up those timbres yourself. That is, when you're doing the sound designing yourself of course. You mentioned you collected some sounds that work well together in a mix and work from there. Because in that case I just have to do more sound designing/sound searching and get a template going for myself. And that'll partially decide on your sound, as well.
Nice of you to make another Dune 3 vid. It's my most used synth and there is always something to learn from your videos. Is Synthmaster 3 double the voice layers of Dune 3? It's looks a bit complicated and more in depth than Dune and I struggled understanding Dune 3 for years until recently. Don't want to get any more synths until I'm competent with the ones I already own
Dune is a good go to along with Spire, Serum, Diva etc. I find Dune to have a very quick and simplified way to the final result. Zero visual feedback just pure analog style goodness. When you are used to the basics of synthesis, the less you see the better you will remember what parameters do. Less is more, Dune is waayyy more. 😎
dune 3 has a great sound for a soft synth, always really love sound but cpu hit is a little higher than something like spire not to mention presets aren't as easy to get and use
Dune will hit hard on CPU in larger presets as it is capable of some huge sounds. Dune uses a vastly large voice count. Think 2 oscillators with 32 voices then on the right add 8 layers that a total of 512 voices!! Not to mention Dune's filters and effects are insanely good. 😎
