No, potions in general. Pretty much every negative potion is crafted using a spider eye, water breathing potions are crafted using a pufferfish as the main ingredient

I mainly play a single player world some lan parties with neighbors, I’ll tell ya we’re gonna be stuck in this snapshot for as long as the installation is kept in the launcher cause this is a personal favorite update in a while. Jokes on mojang boy
Seeing as how the Poisonous Potato Dimension is a parallel dimension to the Overworld, and also keeping in mind that some April Fool’s updates actually make it into the game, it’s possible this is teasing the functionality of the portals in the Ancient Cities.
I absolutely loved the Mega Spud fight, he summons waves of mobs that get stronger with each wave and then he locks himself invulnerable until that wave of mobs has been killed! absolutely love that they're testing new boss fight mechanics, also pretty sure they gave giants AI in the last round of the boss fight too, so maybe we'll see that at some point, would be interesting!
Why does this feel like an intentional parody of minecraft modding
Mojang got tired of people saying that modders can make updates quicker and so decided to make a mod instead, 10 funnies out of 10
I mean, it is something you would see in a modpack, so they did a pretty good job
The guy who made the Aether mod works at Mojang now and a lot of this update, especially terrain generation, is really reminiscent of the Aether. So maybe!

No, it was open for something completely unrelated to MC, people assumed it was something major with 0 indication of such, spammed the devs about it, got angry when their crackpot theory wasn't true, and so the devs added it in the April fools update as a joke.
Do people seriously think the joke updates are being planned months in advance? No, they're made in like a week or less.

Judging by the similarities, I STRONGLY believe that this was one of the first tests for the End update. Maybe it won't be 1.22, or even 1.23, but with the new structures, redstone items, and floating islands, you kind of HAVE to hear me out.
Point #1. The Floatater.
If you don't know, the floatater is a new redstone item in this April fools update. The first connection I made when I saw it, was the Echoing Void DLC for Minecraft Dungeons. An in-level elevator uses a similar mechanic, and I think this is an early version of it. The only difference being that in MCD, a shulker bullet activated the mechanism, not restone.
Point #2. Floating Islands.
The End's floating island's are all on one Y level, whereas these islands are more varied. This is an early test.
Point #3. Bosses.
The only place with floating islands... dedicated to bosses in the base game; The End.
Point #4. Fountain Theory.
The bedrock pedestal in the middle of the Dragon Fight is called the End Fountain. Now... how do you get to the potato dimension? The Villager Fountain. As an extension, both the End Portal, and Potato Portal take a 'Dimension Themed' item to activate.
Point #5. Greenwood.
Though very subtly, the Echoing Void DLC does also feature green wood.

Not funny I didn't laugh. Your joke is so bad I would have preferred the joke went over my head and you gave up re-telling me the joke. To be honest this is a horrid attempt at trying to get a laugh out of me. Not a chuckle, not a hehe, not even a subtle burst of air out of my esophagus. Science says before you laugh your brain preps your face muscles but I didn't even feel the slightest twitch. 0/10 this joke is so bad I cannot believe anyone legally allowed you to be creative at all. The amount of brain power you must have put into that joke has the potential to power every house on Earth. Get a personality and learn how to make jokes, read a book. I'm not saying this to be funny I genuinely mean it on how this is just bottom barrel embarrassment at comedy. You've single handedly killed humor and every comedic act on the planet. I'm so disappointed that society has failed as a whole in being able to teach you how to be funny. Honestly if I put in all my power and time to try and make your joke funny it would require Einstein himself to build a device to strap me into so I can be connected to the energy of a billion stars to do it, and even then all that joke would get from people is a subtle scuff. You're lucky I still have the slightest of empathy for you after telling that joke otherwise I would have committed every war crime in the book just to prevent you from attempting any humor ever again. Maybe they're going to finally give Azalea the green wood type we've been asking, no, begging for since the Azalea release! Also, are they finally going to give the fletching table a proper use soon? Maybe the refinery is also coming. Imagine the refinery as a multi-purpose workstation. Put logs and a bucket in the refinery and you obtain a bucket of tar. Tar can be further refined to make pitch or be used to wax on wood so termites can't eat them. The pitch can be combined with gravel to make asphalt. Mojang could add in olive trees, corn and various other plants. Plants that can make cooking oils can be processed in the refinery with a bottle to get a bottle of oil. Bottles of oil can be used in the frying table to make various fried foods like french fries, potato chips, cooked carrots, fried chicken, etc. Frying foods could give slightly more hunger points, but not necessarily any more saturation as compared to the plain cooked or uncooked food and maybe even making some foods usable in the frying table, but not others. Thus, not making the smoker obsolete, but a key workstation to cook certain types of foods that the frying table can't cook and vice versa.
Mojang could also add a potion of glowing and golden arrows recipes (Awkward potion and glow berries; feather, gold ingot, flint). Add regular arrows and any potion, except the potion of glowing, into the fletching table will get you a tipped arrow of that specific potion. Put in the fletching table a golden arrow and potion of glowing creates the spectral arrow. If they really wanted to they could add geese and ducks and make a very rare variant of goose that is golden and upon killing the golden goose, you get golden feathers which is used to make the spectral arrow as well. Or you could let the golden goose live to get golden eggs that upon throwing has an extremely rare chance of producing a baby golden goose. In comparison to chicken eggs, the number of eggs to produce 1 baby goose is equal to double or triple the number of eggs to produce 1 baby chicken. Golden eggs could also be smelted for gold nuggets as they would have the same length of time to lay a golden egg.
Okay, the frying table mystery is now solved, it wont be vanilla feature - we can forget it and move on

It is a funny update, but this is the definition of quantity over quality. This worldgen already exists, blocks and mobs are just retextured, and a couple weapons with high stats are done. I'm not dunking on it, but it 100% doesn't belong in vanilla, maybe except paintings

Ok, fun april fools update and all. But can someone please tell why they don't put this much effort into something like 1.21? (Dont take this out on the devs btw) like come man just think for one second this update has more intresting stuff in it that changes minecraft a fantasy game then the last update.

Yeah it’s all just reused code and reskins. Surely there is also new lines of code for mechanics & features in this snapshot BUT it’s all with out quality control, and quality control is essential for ensuring new PERMANENT features to the base game. Also they worry about syncing features with bedrock, which essentially doubles everything.
It’s because most of this stuff is just recoloured or extremely buggy. The actual updates are stuff they want people to look at and say yeah that’s new and completed. the April fools updates are jokes that are fun for a day but don’t fit in the real game
So as you have seen, they have the capacity to do this, but this “update” is in no way really polished. When you play it you can see how rushed everything is. This is just the devs’ opportunity to make crazy stuff howerver they want to, without intervention, but in real updates, everything needs to pass multiple layers of approval, everything needs new models, everything needs to be balanced etc.
And as others have said; practically everything is just a retexture of old stuff
I'd guess they assigned like 2 or 3 employees to make this with little to no supervision. No polish or balancing whatsoever
I mean, The potato update has way less effort put into it than the actual updates. Amount of new content =/= more effort.
Flotater, moves a collection of blocks with it when charged with Redstone. Kinda like Create Aeronautics but only pertaining to one direction.
i just hope we get the grappling hook like item using the mechanics of the lashing potato
People are upset that they do more with the fools updates than the real ones, but I appreciate that even tho they have to be very careful how they change the base game, they make these updates where they have free reign to make the game as completely different as possible
Also, they do add alot, but it isn't well made, as in: many of the new things are just re-textures(even the boss is just a slime), the potato jet is glitchy and isn't well coded, the "arena" is a bastion remnant, and the new dimension is probably based on kingbdogz eather mod(he is the original dev of the mod, then he got hired by mojang)
