- Here is the 2023 Porsche Macan GTS in this review i show you what its like to drive, how quick it is to drive as it delivers 0-62mph in just 4.3 seconds from its 2.9 V6 turbocharged engine and how its a perfect all round car. I love the macan GTS and it gives you great amounts of fun whilst also loads of practicality! What do you think about the 2023 Porsche Macan GTS?

I have had this car (2023 GTS Python green also about 1 year now) with a bunch of options, some of which I did not need. You may find this odd, but in driving experience, it reminds me a lot of BMW M3 E36 sedan of the old. It is just very balanced and it checks all the boxes.. Although pricey, it is a very nice hot hatch, and the PDK does amazing things. I'm very happy with this vehicle and cannot really find much to complain about, that is with exception to the rear camera - it's pretty bad, not going to lie.. Anyways ty for the review, and GL to anyone who gets one of these, you will love it.

Thanks for the review, enjoyed it. Just one thing I picked up, believe the Sport Chrono option is standard in the GTS at least according to the Porsche site Car Configurator ?
Loving my 2023 Macan GTS. Like you said it really has a Jekyll and Hyde syndrome. I can haul my musical instruments to a gig + kick ass doing it as well.

Stelvio feels more Alive and less clinical to the macan but overall I would still take the macan 90% of the time even though it has less power than the QV

Great review! I have the last of the Turbo models, basically the same car.. The only real downside of the 18 way sport seats is their tendency to rip your bollocks off every time you get out. So, if you are hung like Father Christmas (who only comes once a year..) beware!
Stef, curious on your thoughts about this compared to the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT and Track Hawk as well as the clone Dodge Durango SRT seems like this might be a less practical approach to the same formula.
The Jeep doesn’t compare when it comes to handling
I owned a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT for about a year, and then sold it and bought a Macan GTS. One can not compare the two. The Macan is so nimble and quick. The SRT is more of a tank, with good acceleration. Handling not so good.
@@sergiomasciotra8646 I agree, I have had many SRT products over the years and loved them all, I currently have a 2019 Hellcat Challenger (with Hennessey HPE 1000 upgrade and it's a stick) .. the orange one on Hennessey's website. It is the Sledge Hammer (super fun muscle car), the Macan GTS is very surgical in nature. You can rip around bends at scary speeds and it does not miss a beat. . The Macan is a momentum car really, not tear your face off.. The SRT''s are all pretty tear your face off , which is fun but you can't really sling them around.. I have a friend with a Tesla Plaid, and it is great - in a straight line.. Just gotta get what fits your needs and enjoyment. GL
Bit late to this thread. Spent most of day at Porsche dealer testing a M-GTS.
My wife is just pricing the final stuff out.
She had an SRT Durango previously - no comparison.
The Porsche is way more refined & all around comfortable. Far better construction. The SRT was a violent kinda clumsy daily driver. Fun for the 1st week.
SRT would be the big muscle head in the gym with no legs. The M-GTS would be the super fit dude that does all body weights & cardio…..
Always liked the Macan but I think the value choice could be the Jag F-Pace SVR. Great review on Harry’s Garage and he really rates it.

Though not really the same class of vehicle, it's a really good substitute for a base 911. You get a driving experience that's nearly as good, with a lot more space. And it's cheaper.
GTS pack £7k Chrono pack = 0.2 seconds quicker, 21" RS Spider wheels, different front and rear bumper trim, 1000 GTS logo's.
Come on that isn't £7k worth of extras, you must surely get more than that.

Good question, to my knowledge, and with reference to the Porsche Car Configurator the Sport Chrono Package is standard on the GTS in the UK.
Green is a good color but it needs to be darker like "british racing green"
A GTS pack on a GTS model is pure robbery.
This or an Alfa Stelvio QV?
Alfa Stelvio has better styling, more exclusive.
Best daily driver ever
I find these things a con. 0-60 in over 4 seconds compared to the Stelvio due to the Cayenne being in the model range.
Compared to some other cars costing 50 grand or less, it's slow.
And those other cars are just as practical too.
And you don't look like an utter tool driving them !
Macan GTS is £71700 now and sub 4 second on launch 😉

Because it’s nowhere near as visceral as a Macan. Unless we’re talking Turbo GT which is twice the price. The Macan GTS is an incredible piece of successful engineering. Hence why it’s still in production
You need to fact check your information . It’s 4.1 to 60 with Soorts Chrono and over £71,000 before options .
Agreed, he’s quoting the old prices before the price rise in March? £7500 for GTS package and sports chrono has been standard on the GTS since last year from memory? Also the GTS package adds no more GTS badging than a standard GTS? And the seats are 18 way ffs 🤦🏻♂️

My m140i has more power (455bhp) and a lot more torque (634nm) and cost me 20 grand 4 years ago, my total spend on tuning was around 3 grand.
So this Macan is not particularly quick for the cost, and many other cars even brand new, are much cheaper yet much faster.
Practicality : It is not any bigger inside than any 5 series or similar saloon car, and a lot smaller than many others especially estate/touring models, and those cost less and are more economical.
It doesn't handle as well as a lower saloon car or even touring, because it is so heavy and has a high centre of gravity.
It is too big for the average supermarket parking slot, and causes other car park users issues when they come back to find some tw@t in a Macan has squeezed into a space next to them, and there isn't room to open the door to get in.
It's not 'fun' as you call it, it's just a massive, safe, heavy, attention seeking, blob. Fun is a Caterham, or Elise.
Who is the market for this car ? A complete c0ck, that's who, it's a car for c0cks. Proven by flooring it out of a junction, on a narrow road, directly towards another vehicle overtaking a cyclist at 7:38. At least you kept up the stereotype owner image.
I do love a 911, in fact, it is my dream car, but this, is yet another pointless penis extender like many others, by rich attention seeking plebs.

@@barn4216 My car IS better in many ways which I class 'better'. It's faster, handles better, looks better, and only cost me a fifth of the price.

I wouldn't spend 80 grand on a car, no matter if I can or can not afford to.
If I did spend that much, I'd buy something that was WORTH 80 grand, and not some heavy blob of a SUV. Probably an M2 loaded with options.

Very entertaining but what is a 140i?? We cannot even get those… I love Bimmers too and would buy a X4 M40i … to me don’t compare the Macan to a X3 or X5. The only comparison is the X4.
What Porsche really has that BMW can’t match is the suspension, BMW doesn’t offer the X4M here so the only other comparison is the X4M C. Which is really a track car.
The Macan is truly a Track Car, Sports Car you can take on the road and a daily driver Crossover that you can use practically.
And the handmade elements of the deviated stitched leather… WOW!!
The new Maserati Grecale is better than this! better interior, more exclusive, charisma, feel-good factor, better engine and exhaust sounds list goes on......

I test drove a base Macan 1 hour after driving a Grecale Modena 2 weeks ago.
The Grecale looks beautiful inside and out. The tech and infotainment is better than the Macan. The drive and handling seemed slightly disconnected though.
I then drove the base Macan and wow I was so impressed with how solid it handles and how it drives. It's one of the best in driving experience.
I also did a little research and the Grecale has an issue with the key fob proximity sensors and was a little rough in stop and go traffic according to one review but I didn't notice that on my test drive with the Grecale.
I could get the Grecale about $800 over invoice and the interest rates are lower than Porsche. I wonder why Maserati was offered these so low.
I'd pick the Macan over the Grecale just for the fact the Macan handles way better than the Grecale.
I'm putting drive over looks. Yeah the Grecale is so sexy but I would be selecting that just for the Italian name of the Maserati Grecale Modnea.
My preference will be the Macan GTS.
it'll be worth £5k with a shit ton of issues within 3/4 years lol
