PROJECT MR2 : waterpump and timing belt install

so in this episode of the Mr2 project, i start on the engine and install the water pump and housing as well as the timing belt on my 4age!! this much closer to getting that 1.6 liter running

Great video ! What’s the torque for the cams and head cylinder ?

Just put timing belt on engine, the crank right up and seem to run good however when you put it in gear the engine do not have power to pull itself out of it's tracks. What is the problem

Do you have to remove the timing belt to replace the water pump or can you get around it

Hey Joe, just in the process of doing this job on my 4age right now.
Just wondering, did you add any additonal RTV/sealant around the water pump O-ring (where it connects to the block)? Mine is leaking, just want to make sure I don't have to do the whole job all over again. Thanks!

No the gasket is the seal any additional will only disrupt the mating surface of the gasket to machined surfaces
