@@Booster_Diecast facts I do think Jaguar cx75 looked cool from the movie car individuals but the set of 4 looked kinda dumb and identical (not like I can buy the sets anyway 💀) Not even gonna start on the events and the exclusive stuff thats a rant in and of itself
Yeah the panel gap on all of the R34s has been a big issue. But I think thats more of a design flaw than a QC issue since all of those castings suffer from it
I've only just started collecting and have mostly hit up the back catalogue so far. Thankfully not many QC issues and no major ones. I have a Bentley Continental GT that doesn't roll due to a bent axle, the same decals issue on a Nissan GT-R racer like you and everyone else, and a 911 Targa with front wheels rims that thin out around the edge on one side. I think I had one with a cloudy headlight/glue residue as well. Thankfully my BBR Ferrari 296 was pretty close to faultless. I have started ordering some of the newer stuff now though so hopefully I don't start seeing issues. Your videos have made me a touch paranoid about it though, and sadly QC is the first thing I check on the model now rather than enjoying the opening and taking in the details.
Really glad you haven't had too many QC issues with them. It really sucks that we even have to worry about issues when we open our models, and that's the main reason for this video. Hoping that the right people see it and know that we are not satisfied with their product
Great video. Yeah I can see your point and I agree. I’m not a fan of the wheels not rolling independently of each other. It’s great that you can unscrew the base and change them out. I’ve done that on most of them. I think Pop Race is made by them too. The first Porsche I got from them was missing the drivers side turning signal on the front of the car. So I don’t take pictures of that side. Then the holiday Porsche. The lights on the front bar are warped. Thanks for sharing, I just subscribed, and have a good day brother.
I appreciate your support greatly! Pop Race is not affiliated with Mini GT, they are a different company. I only have one Pop Race so far (aside from some collab models between them and Mini GT). I'm planning on getting more in the future as they are making some really nice things including lamborghini
@@Booster_Diecast right on brother. The PR Porsche I have is really nice. It just sucks it’s missing the turning light. I guess they didn’t glue it on foot enough before it was packaged. I just got PR VW Golf and it’s turned into one of my favorite cars. Yeah it’s a bummer though when you’re paying top dollar for a mini gt or any other higher end diecast and it has some kind of blemish or scuff. Hope it gets better.
Generally my Mini GTs have been okay apart from one or two problems. I think they are trying to do too much for the price point. Would we as collectors mind paying a little more to get decent quality control ?
for the nismo super gt500 cars, yea its unfortunate to have those decal problems, however if you're interested, you could buy a decal softener solution so that the decal can 'stretch' and set on the surface more evenly. but yea still kinda unfortunate to have those problems anyway
@naradhipatiandaru5078 yeah I've had a couple people mention that. I just dont really like messing with my models unless I absolutely have to. Like if a mirror or wing falls off, I will glue it back on
Thanks for sharing and be honest and transparent. As a collector of MINI GT models, I had no idea about this quality issues. I am waiting for my Bugatti EB110. About the other models in the video I don´t hane any of them. But really really bad the issues with the liverys, scractches and glue residues.... I will be aware wihr my new purchases.
I had a Black R34 GTR of which the side mirror broke off and also my Kaido House R34 ones mirror is also not in that much of a good shape but it's still sturdy I'll say. Worst of the Black R34 one I didn't even notice it had broke off and couldn't find the side mirror again leaving it in a odd looking way. Also there are some panel gaps in the r34 Idk why. Though I saw a better quality in my Top Secret GTR and the Valkyrie
Sorry you had issues with the mirrors. I don't get broken mirrors often but it has definitely happened in the past. And the panel gaps are notorious on the R34 castings
Ive been pretty lucky so far with my cars. I've had a few i can remember like the blue and silver Maybach with scuffed trunk from the packaging, Shelby Dragonsnake with broken spoiler, LBWK BMW M4 missing drivers side mirror and Bugatti Divo with crooked grille. Also a 50th silver Porsche targa with wonky wheel. Luckily most except missing mirror.I was able to fix. But still shouldn't have to fix things after just opening a new car. Hopefully MINI GT will do a better job on QC, but I know they want to get products out the door quickly and go on to the next thing. But if quality goes downhill people will stop buying their cars and go on to something better. One problem that i can't fix that ive had with them and other diecast manufacturers is wonky wheels. Has anyone else been able to fix this problem? A needed rant video. Can't wait for your next review.
I've also had problems with wonky wheels and tires but usually they're pretty easy to fix. I think Mini GT needs to slow down and put more money into QC rather than hosting all these events and collabs
Recently i bought a Aventador scj and that wing was not sticked to the car and I also got a pagani with messed up paint and these are my very first mini gt 🗿
I am getting the #24 bmw m hybrid probably tomorrow. I hope this one will be good in quality control Since this is my favorite prototype or even my favorite race car🤞
@@Booster_Diecast Update: Didn't get a good luck on this one😂one of the endplates of the rear wing was not glued to the body at all; the rear wing was not even; the shark fin was not perfectly upright; plus multiple paint defects, including a white dashed line on the front wheel arch covered by carbon……I was looking forward to this a lot and now I am thinking about returning this one and purchasing another from another retailer who agreed to unbox before shipping to me and check if there’s any major defect
Hi Booster! I've been subscribed to your channel for several months now, and I just wanted to give you props for speaking your mind and sharing your experiences, however unfortunate. Because of your videos and a few other die-cast channels, I was inspired to start a collection of my own. So far, I have 4 Mini GT models, 1 PosterCars model, 1 Hot Wheels model and 1 OPO model. On the topic of Mini GT, I have a Giallo Orion Lamborghini Aventador SVJ [no. 563]. It looks phenomenal but has a misaligned rear right wheel, so it clickety-clacks when rolling forward and can't roll backwards so well. It doesn't look too bad visually and I don't typically roll my Mini GTs like I would do with Hot Wheels, but the inability to roll does still bug me a lot. I'm contemplating taking the car apart to fix it, but I don't want to risk causing further damage. I also have a Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ [no. 409] and it came with a loose rear fin [the piece that goes from the back of the roof to just above the active aero, which I painstakingly glued back together. It looks perfect now. I was considering placing the upcoming 3 models on pre-order: - Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato Bianco Asopo [no. 763] - Lamborghini Revuelto Blu Eleos [no. 748] - Lamborghini Aventador SVJ 63 Blu Aegir [no. 784] Though after seeing this gradual yet quick decline in QC over the last few months, I'm now in two minds. What would you recommend? I really would like to have those cars but I would also like a second opinion before I crack open that wallet, you know? Keep up the awesome work by the way! :) - ShinnyShin
Hey I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and im glad youve decided to start a collection, it truly is a great hobby despite these discussions from time to time. If you're looking at getting those Lambo models, I would still 100% get them. I hardly ever have QC issues with Mini GT Lamborghini. I know that doesn't mean anything as I only get one of each, but if you do get a bad sample, you can always try returning them to the retailer you bought them from
@@Booster_Diecast Hey Booster! Thanks so much for your input, I appreciate it man. And yes, it's becoming a passion that grows with each passing day. I don't know if my collection will ever be as huge as yours, but it's modest! These discussions are indeed valuable because you never know with the Internet sometimes, there could be someone who's linked to Mini GT watching this and taking note. Anything's possible, and I would like to believe that this and other QC videos on UA-cam could be their wake-up call. I've seen quite a few videos where for example, there's a somewhat common problem with the quad exhaust pipes on the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo - they seem to roll off production with 2 pointing up and 2 pointing down. Luckily when I got mine, it didn't have these issues. As for Lamborghini, this was only my 2nd model after the Oro Elios Lamborghini Aventador SVJ [no. 363] and that one has zero faults whatsoever. And the supplier is normally very good - I've ordered 5 total cars from them and aside from the 300+ with the slightly loose fin, this has been the only defective casting. So taking your advice onboard, I'mma hit pre-order on those Lambos I told you about earlier. They will be from a different supplier however, because my usual doesn't have them as an option yet. It's payday this week so I'll treat myself! You should really check them out if you haven't already, and I look forward to seeing your take on those beauties when they get released sometime in Q3 of this year. And much like you, I really hope their QC is up to scratch by that time. Losing Mini GT as an option would be tragic! 😬😬
And about BBR the only one I got is the white mc20 and it was terrible 😞 the chrome outline on the wheels is scattered, the mesh on the side intake is bent, the braking lights are broken and the wheels are spinning as if they were not on the same plane. Returned this for refund
Wow sorry to hear that about your MC20, that's absolutely horrid. Luckily all my BBRs have been good except for the misalignments on my 296. Mini GT needs to do a better job producing them since they are more expensive than your standard Mini GT
I only have a few Mini GT's but Im pretty lucky mine has no issues..... But Im aware that they have quality issues since last year but to be fair also other brands like Hotwheels has QC issues as well and it's sad 😰
Yeah every brand will have QC issues unfortunately, it's just the way it goes. But mini gt is starting to scare me a bit. I hope that you continue to have good models with no issues!
I had a verstappen F1 car mini gt that had a massively crooked rear wing that was so bad i ended up having to take the whole thing apart to fix it with glue, etc... disappointing for sure
Tarmac Works also have a lot of similar issues. Yeah they use a lot more small parts but for the money you spend, it is really frustrating. I really can't count how many times I bent those little antennas and even pushed one in through the roof. I even had to glue the headlight cover back on my Members Only Advan F40. Add to that the little paint, decal, and wheel issues on them too. But of course when they can do everything right, I just love Tarmac Works. But honestly, I hadn't had too many stuff go wrong with Mini GT, knock on wood. Pretty much everything I got from them came in great shape. And I don't even have a whole lot of Mini GT, so that would kinda explain my luck, but I definitely feel you on the quality control thing. They're trying to keep up with demand, but still they could really step things up, especially for the money you're spending on them. Thanks for speaking out.
Yeah tarmac works is a whole different beast when it comes to QC lol. I only buy their hobby64 stuff because their global64 line is horrible when it comes to price/quality. But I've also had some bad QC with them and now they're trying to push their cards on us🙄 I could make a whole video about Tarmac as well
@@Booster_Diecast Yeah I don't blame ya for only sticking with Hobby64. At least that line do have Ferraris.🐎 I tried not to knock those little trading cards either at first but they do sound kinda corny lmao.
Tarmac is very shady, had one model by them and wasn't impressed by it. Their J collection is horrible and just reusing old models from DeAgostini. And now pushing those cards lol. Wheels on their Hobby64 dont roll as well like lmao
@qwerty975 yeah I pretty much only collect the ferraris when it comes to tarmac works. I have a couple porsche GT3s as well but they have so many issues
I've had 3 models out of around 300 that have had issues, worst one is the black liberty walk lamborghini aventador. But that one is known to have issues. Worst after that was the yellow bird with wobbly wheels and an R34 with a missing taillight.
If I really want a model then I buy 2 at once and then I make 1 out of them 😂 so far this strategy worked except with orange Mustang - both were faulty and I just gave up on that colour. Now I’m moving slowly to Inno64 - costs more and has better QC.
And you definitely should not have to buy 2 of a particular model in hopes to have one mint one or combine them to make a mint one. That is sooo much extra money. Inno64 is great when it comes to quality but they don't have anywhere near Mini GTs diversity in car selection unfortunately
Not just blowing smoke up your ass, but i totally agree with what you've said. For me also, the issue is churning out to many & also the collectors like us buy more, so probably hit the bad stuff more. Love the Poprace coming out, just done a review on 2 Porsche targas. Next week or so should publish. Finally getting fast broadband tomorrow here so should upload quicker. Keep up the great work Toby👍🏆
Appreciate you Alfie! And congrats on the better internet, that should help out a lot. I really like poprace too but I'm very selective about what I buy from them. But once they start rolling out the Lambos I'll be all over it lol
I bought a M3 GT3, is my first Mini GT. When I was opening the box, the DRL falled out of the car imediatelly, before even I take the car out of the plastic cover.... This thing made me extremelly upset.
Always hv to consider the people who handle your parcel or shipping. There're always risk with any brand that are more fragile and detailed than Hot Wheels.
I'm a MiniGT collector among many many other brands, and after seeing this video I'm pretty scared! I have a bunch and they've all been such great looking models... my FIRST MINIGT; which is the white M3 E30, had a messed up taillight and I broke it in half trying to fix it, also some of mine have off-centre badges which for me is somewhat ignorable but disappointing nonetheless... also my Kona N has a SLIGHTLY messed up wing but other than that it's perfect and I was SHOOK when I saw how yours came out I'm so sorry TwT otherwise I've gotten pretty lucky with MiniGT it looks like As for M2 Machines I have like 2 of them and I'm not really super into them, and I'll be honest I'm a Greenlight glazer, but I will say they both have bad quality control, Greenlight is notorious for it and I agree, I've seen some pretty horrible stuff from M2 at walmart myself and have taken a couple pics of M2 and GL alike, I'd love to show you them if you wanna see, missing wheels, misaligned doors, and bodies completely off their base, just terrible >.< thankfully GL seems to be improving as their new leader promised better QC anyways thank you for making this video, I know you said that some MiniGT collectors would get fired up and I'm a MiniGT collector myself and I thoroughly enjoyed your video, thank you SOOO MUCH for bringing these issues to light, the funny thing is, those collectors are the ones who should BENEFIT from this video as you're telling MiniGT to make better models lol... here I go again yap mode XD anyways 2; new subscribaaaa
Hey I appreciate you tuning in! I've never really liked GL either due to bad quality but one of their big advantages is they have a HUGE variety of models. Feel free to message me on IG if you wanna chat. I have my handle on my YT page
I have all kinds of brands and none of them are 100% perfect, there're always something wrong when you start to inspect them closely including the interiors. Mini GT with its ever widening range of cars i think still doing pretty good. But they definitely can improve the QC inspections. The BBR Ferrari was rushed to release on an event could have waited for a later batch release
Yeah there will always be issues no doubt, but I think they could definitely work on bettering their brand instead of dumping money into all these events and whatnot
MGT is clearly prioritizing quantity over quality, and it's gonna bite them BAD... i've seen lots of cars with issues, and none were the ones you showed... one of their newest M4 GT3's is having issues with missing decals on a LOT of them... i've even seen the Gold R32 from TAS with full on Missing headlights... its a event model, super limited...if they didn't even bothered to double check those, imagine the normal release ones
Yeah luckily my gold TAS R32 didn't have that headlight issue (I would have been furious) but I have seen some photos of the missing headlights on those. It's really irritating when we spend our hard earned collection money on messed up models
My first Kaido House was the R34 and arrived with a half inch paint rash to its door and the other side mirror is not as stable as the other side and has a tendency to break if not handled carefully. This is kinda disappointing as I was expecting better quality from MiniGT.
@wilgatdula6795 I don't collect Kaido House anymore just because I'm not really the biggest JDM fan and don't care for the unrealistic body kits that much, but they do have some QC issues as well. I've seen a lot of people have problems with them unfortunately
I have about 50 mini gts and haven't noticed many issues but then again I like to buy plain cars with few logos. I hope they don't go the route of Hot Wheels premium and digitize their logos. You ever put Hot Wheels premium under the microscope? The logos are blotchy. But that's why they're only $6. If I had to guess, the company is trying to save $$$. They've dished out a lot of cash to get the rights for these vehicles, they're pumping out a lot more models, so cutbacks needed to be made somewhere and it appears their QC department has shrunk.
Look at the Matchbox stuff with that dot printer, seriously trying to sell stuff for 25 bucks, look at the Mclaren SLR and 720S, mainlines look better than that

Thanks for making this video- I completely agree man this is very important
Appreciate you
Recently ordered an r34 black but there was a HUGE panel gap on the windows and one of the side mirrors were flimsy I thought it was gonna snap off
Yeah the panel gap on all of the R34s has been a big issue. But I think thats more of a design flaw than a QC issue since all of those castings suffer from it
i do have some quality problem also....my s15 head light came off....ya i think they push too many cars come out...
Sorry to hear about your s15
I got one on my mgt skyline bayside blue paint is not smooth on right side front bumper😢
Very unfortunate, sorry to hear that
Speak your mind! I have always felt this way about Mini GT
I would certainly pay a little e tra per model to have the piece of mind, and I think many others would as well
for the nismo super gt500 cars, yea its unfortunate to have those decal problems, however if you're interested, you could buy a decal softener solution so that the decal can 'stretch' and set on the surface more evenly. but yea still kinda unfortunate to have those problems anyway
@@SiegedByCars I genuinely hope all your future models are flawless!
Same thing here, my bugatti chiron supersport white has rough on its rear! I dont know why and i bought it Brand New
@darkisplays7670 yeah super unfortunate. Sorry to hear that
I had a Black R34 GTR of which the side mirror broke off and also my Kaido House R34 ones mirror is also not in that much of a good shape but it's still sturdy I'll say.
And the panel gaps are notorious on the R34 castings
i got a mini gt bentley and the rear wheels cant roll properly . its kinda sucks
Yeah wheels not rolling properly is another big issue
I'm sorry to hear your first 2 were busts. I hope you stick with the brand because they do make some incredible models.
I am getting the #24 bmw m hybrid probably tomorrow. I hope this one will be good in quality control Since this is my favorite prototype or even my favorite race car🤞
I'm hoping the best for you. That's an amazing car so hopefully the decal application is clean
I was considering placing the upcoming 3 models on pre-order:
- Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato Bianco Asopo [no. 763]
- Lamborghini Revuelto Blu Eleos [no. 748]
- Lamborghini Aventador SVJ 63 Blu Aegir [no. 784]
Though after seeing this gradual yet quick decline in QC over the last few months, I'm now in two minds.
What would you recommend?
I really would like to have those cars but I would also like a second opinion before I crack open that wallet, you know?
Keep up the awesome work by the way! :)
- ShinnyShin
@ShinnyShin_001 oh yeah ill definitely be getting those lambos when they come out! I have every mini gt lambo haha. That's my main love
@tylergates772 yeah super disappointing
Very unfortunate. 3/300 is not bad at all though!
@@Booster_Diecast agreed.
I have two innos and both have flaws
I just checked on my very own mini gt super gt r35s and I have the very same issue
@@jeffnghongda yeah every single one of those did. It's so disappointing
When everyone become greedy and wants more in such limited time and resources, things happen.
@@user-nt2fe6iq4r they are pumping out models too fast
I bought a M3 GT3, is my first Mini GT. When I was opening the box, the DRL falled out of the car imediatelly, before even I take the car out of the plastic cover.... This thing made me extremelly upset.
Always hv to consider the people who handle your parcel or shipping. There're always risk with any brand that are more fragile and detailed than Hot Wheels.
Man that's really unfortunate, I'm sorry to hear that
I'm a MiniGT collector among many many other brands, and after seeing this video I'm pretty scared! I have a bunch and they've all been such great looking models... my FIRST MINIGT; which is the white M3 E30, had a messed up taillight and I broke it in half trying to fix it, also some of mine have off-centre badges which for me is somewhat ignorable but disappointing nonetheless... also my Kona N has a SLIGHTLY messed up wing but other than that it's perfect and I was SHOOK when I saw how yours came out I'm so sorry TwT otherwise I've gotten pretty lucky with MiniGT it looks like
As for M2 Machines I have like 2 of them and I'm not really super into them, and I'll be honest I'm a Greenlight glazer, but I will say they both have bad quality control, Greenlight is notorious for it and I agree, I've seen some pretty horrible stuff from M2 at walmart myself and have taken a couple pics of M2 and GL alike, I'd love to show you them if you wanna see, missing wheels, misaligned doors, and bodies completely off their base, just terrible >.< thankfully GL seems to be improving as their new leader promised better QC
anyways thank you for making this video, I know you said that some MiniGT collectors would get fired up and I'm a MiniGT collector myself and I thoroughly enjoyed your video, thank you SOOO MUCH for bringing these issues to light, the funny thing is, those collectors are the ones who should BENEFIT from this video as you're telling MiniGT to make better models lol... here I go again yap mode XD
anyways 2; new subscribaaaa
Hey I appreciate you tuning in! I've never really liked GL either due to bad quality but one of their big advantages is they have a HUGE variety of models. Feel free to message me on IG if you wanna chat. I have my handle on my YT page
If you have to buy Just one MINI GT , only one ... then what model will it be ? .... whatever you suggest , im gonna buy that , love your work man .
@WildHeart111 oh man, that's a super tough one lol. Do you have any mini gts yet?
I've seen a lot of people have problems with them unfortunately
hey boost what's up😎😎
i think for now the craftsmanship winner is INNO
@user-nt2fe6iq4r I would agree, their quality is really good
Any issues with Kaido house?
@billy5414 yeah kaido House has issues too but I don't collect them anymore
Some guy purchased 3 KH and all of them have bent axels
I have about 50 mini gts and haven't noticed many issues but then again I like to buy plain cars with few logos. I hope they don't go the route of Hot Wheels premium and digitize their logos. You ever put Hot Wheels premium under the microscope? The logos are blotchy. But that's why they're only $6. If I had to guess, the company is trying to save $$$. They've dished out a lot of cash to get the rights for these vehicles, they're pumping out a lot more models, so cutbacks needed to be made somewhere and it appears their QC department has shrunk.
Yeah if mini gt gets to where hotwheels is, I will no longer collect then lol. I agree with you about them cutting corners lately
Look at the Matchbox stuff with that dot printer, seriously trying to sell stuff for 25 bucks, look at the Mclaren SLR and 720S, mainlines look better than that
6:12
A suitable substitute for Mini GT is Pop Race.
@@tri-edge I've seen issues with pop race as well, but they are definitely a good alternative. Just not as much variety yet
M2 is plagued with QC issues. I hope Mini GT doesn't go that route.
I think mini gt is a long way off from being as bad as M2, but I don't want them to even be comparable
Dont forget that 2 tone Mercedes S klasses are all flawed
@@erenalp183 yup I thought I mentioned those lol
