yea me too, especially when they captured hundreds of innocent orcas and forced them to preform. And when the orcas got angry and attacked, they blamed it on the trainers who lost their lives.
Nah, i actually really dont like PETA because i dont think they have a good approach with anything they do. I work with the conservation of sea mammals and i know for a fact Orcas hate being in captivity and can become aggressive when trapped in a small body of water. Sea lions are actually ok with doing shows and enjoy attention but they can go blind.
Actually, when the orcas were captured in the 60s, it was considered a major step in the right direction for the conservation of the species. The US military would often shoot orcas on site if they swam too close to naval bases and they would commonly be used for target practice. Prior to the 60s, orcas were often seen as dangerous creatures. SeaWorld actually did a lot to rehabilitate their image to the public. Also, sea lions often exhibit different kinds of visual impairment in the wild. Several of the harbor seals that SeaWorld obtained/rescued several years ago had visual impairment.
I agree…these poor animals are forced to perform these shows multiple times a day, 7 days a week. And how does this teach about marine life and conservation?
@@maryjones975 It DOESN'T teach education at all, quite the opposite. It teaches people, particularly kids, that sea lions and orcas exist to entertain us and don't deserve freedom like us and the choices of their own daily lives. It makes them think that nature is meant to be dominated and used for our own selfish desires. Kids that leave that stadium are thinking "THAT'S where sea lions belong." That we're a superior life form compared to all other animal species. Marine ABUSEment parks only teach us the dangerous lesson that it's OK to abuse nature. And all that dancing and sequin jumpsuits or mime costumes with those employees, there's no dignity in that kind of thing. How is watching orca dolphins dance to pop music EDUCATIONAL?? Or them jumping up and teaching their noses to a hanging plastic toy ball? There's none! Orca dolphins are apex predators that are one most amazing animals on Earth, yet humans justify reducing them to performing clowns for "teaching respect for the environment". It's not right, after all we don't see leopard seals balancing balls or tiger sharks jumping through hoops of fire.
This show made me laugh so hard I started crying!! I love SeaWorld Orlando so much.😂

i also like how those cute sea lions who preform for our amusement. Go blind by looking up at the sun and begging for food.
GBOT You clearly believe everything you hear from PETA
