Screaming on tv? I know it was just a small part, but that's awesome that they aired this. There should be more hardcore bands on tv, and popular media in general.
Am I the only one who liked how it sounded live? Almost all the comments are criticizing how the guitars sounded but I wouldn't have noticed anything if I didn't read about it. Great song in my opinion
Thank you a day to remember this song helped me threw my bad break up back in highschool in 2014 I'm 23 bought to be 24 this Sunday March 13✌️✌️😆😆😆🌍🥳🎂 happy birthday to me 🎉🎉🎉🥳🥳🎂🎂
i'm hearin that too, but oh well, the song is in drop b, and THIS is even one half-step lower... so yeah, i'm assuming they didn't have the setup 1000% right or something...
@@raydog_97 Jeremy could never sing the high parts live. Maybe because his voice naturally got lower as he got older? I dunno, but he straight sounds like a choir boy in for those who have heart haha. Don't know why they kept writing songs he can't sing out of the studio.
It’s cause he’s using a Gibson Les Paul and those guitars are known for not staying in tune very well and of course the string that’s out of tune here in this video is the G string. It’s also cause they use a plain G string instead of a wound G string. Wound G strings stay in tune better than plain G strings. They were also playing in Drop A# here in this video so yeah he’s got the worst of the worst🤣
Then again this was years ago, he’s figured everything out since then I’m sure lol the most important thing being is he no longer plays Gibsons on stage 😂🤘
@@raydog_97 I think they're In drop A here. With a 24.75 scale. Now that use I think 26-inch baritone scale because let's admit it the singer is not going to be able to hit the original song on the record which was in drop B tuning.
whoohaaXL In this video they’re playing in A# which is a half step down from Drop B but just last year 2019 they went ahead and tuned Better Off This Way to Drop A which is a full step from Drop B and you’re right about them using baritones, it’s like I was telling this dude they eventually figured out that Gibson’s weren’t gonna cut it for the lower tunings like Drop A# and Drop A.
whoohaaXL They actually retired and got rid of Drop A# completely last year and are replacing it with Drop A full time now. Now the only tunings they have now is Drop C, Drop B and Drop A. Drop C is probably the next one to be retired.
Well this was back in 2011 and it was the very first time they ever played Better Off This Way Live so they didn’t really know how to approach it at first. In fact this was the only performance of Better Off This Way in 2011. At the very beginning of 2012 like in January they started adding Better Off This Way to their Setlists and I’ll be honest, those performances in 2012 were way better than this one but like I said I think it’s because it was their very first time playing it so can’t be too hard on them. Honestly tho, I truly think that Better Off This Way was going to be one of those songs that they would never play live but to make this show extra special (this show was very important to ADTR) they went ahead and pull it out of the bag.

Scream was absolutely perfect
QJTB his screaming is always so perfect and I freaking love it cause it always sounds like in the studio
Him and Chester Bennington are so damn good at doing both cleans and screams... RIP Chester
High school nostalgia at its best!
Same, I heard this right after I broke up with my first girlfriend all those years ago 😂
Playing this while playing halo reach back in high school and here I am in 2021 missing it all
For me it was the very first COD: Black Ops. I’d kill to go back to 2009/2010. Best years of my life

they dont know how to setup for a band like this theyre check sounds horrible not the band!
I think it sounds cool. It sounds like and independent band in someone’s dirty basement

They play it in Drop A now lol but it still sounds badass

@@danerdnerdos7384 Yeah he has a deep voice so that’s probably what it is. Not only that but they toured non stop all the way until covid happened.
@@danerdnerdos7384 So he never really got a break from touring
kevin looks cute lol
are those amps mesa boogie?
Is it just me, or is one of those guitars a bit our of tune?
Nah sound guy prob never herd the band before
Jonathan Austin No man, Kevin’s G string is out of tune lol
They sound good! But the guitar on the right is out of tune.
