I won a David Gray meet and greet last year in Portland. His music has carried me through some of the worst moments of my very difficult life. I asked him to write down the lyrics for Shine which is my favorite song of ALL time. He had trouble remembering them and I reminded him. He was so kind and generous with his time. I said I really hoped Shine would be on the set list and shared a little of my story and his manager said it wasn’t. I went to the concert later that night and at the end, his band walked out and he walked back on with a guitar and played Shine. It was one of the happiest moments of my whole life. He’s a great guy and I will be a fan for life.

David Gray is the highest level of songwriting and musicianship.

I bought a ticket to this show in Vancouver alone, last minute and to this day it is one of the best live shows I’ve seen (out of hundreds). David Grey is the epitome of a performer and put on a sick set. I stayed in my seat at least an hour after the show absorbing what I’d experienced. I love this man deeply. See him live.

I could listen to this man perform for eternity. I discovered him 22 years ago. Definition of talent and class. I love that he wears a suit when performing.

Listening to this somewhere in North America, working at 3:30am, alone, seems like, always alone in our jungles of steel, listening to music in the background, youtube choosing what it wants, when this came on. The first song felt like a punch in the gut. And suddenly I woke up, realized I had been somewhere else for the past 3 years. How short our lives, and how little time we are even present. "Like the birds of the high arctic." Barren, frozen, dark.
Hey brother, we are all hurting from time to time, nothing in life will ever be perfect. However, try to stay positive because "depression" is a cancer to our mind if you don't control it. Life is so short but we Must give it " our best shot" because before we know it, we are too old & unable to "change" it due to circumstances that come with old age. May our dear Lord Jesus Christ fill your heart, mind & soul with His agape love. Invite Him into your life & He will guide you in a positive direction & "mind set". Once you've heard, or seen DG in concert, it stays with you. I often listen to his music when working. Babylon is soo nice. Missed this London concert but thanks a million to whoever filmed - sound is crisp and clear. Every song is incredible, a real pleasure. Thank you David Gray for all the music you've given us. Success is not all about top sales BUT talent, voice, tunes and melodies that touch our hearts, thrills our body and souls.

David G. Is by far one of the deepest lyricist. His ability to change instruments in the middle of a song is incredible. I truly enjoy listening to DAVID every night. Closing my eyes and getting lost in the music. Amazing, emotional gift.
Totally forgot what David Gray means to my ears! Wonderful concert - "Last Summer" and "Gulls" just WOW. A proper english singer-songwriter - beautiful, thoughtful music.

Been a DG fan for almost a third of my life. He is special. He’s got the words that twist and make one think. This film is one of my very favorite. I could listen to this recording daily….DG makes music.

this concert is truly amazing. i had this playing in the back ground when my family was over dinner....i go in the living room to find my step-son and his 2 year old laying on the living room floor just intensely watching and listening. david gray is captivating.

Wow Birds of the high arctic is such a powerful image. And a song to match. Haunting, like the darkness in the arctic, from someone who was there. The string is like the ice - piercing and blue, and yet all an illusion. Of frozen waters, at once liquid and weak and solid and cold.
I can’t keep this in any longer. I’ve made out w a lot of guys to this vinyl. They all thought it was special. It wasn’t for them, it was for me. Whew, now I feel better. How silly guys are, my dog and I would look at eachother and giggle….but i digress. ❤

It's these smaller more intimate venues that showcase extremely great musical talents like David Gray and this awesome symphonic band enhancing the beauty of his music and lyrics. Possibly his best performance other than his performance on that radio station studio I forget, where he played," Harder," and," Only The Wine," alone, while using the foot pedal recorder loop thing.
This is just amazing, beautiful and fantastic piece of art. First song Bird of High Artic has a fantastic finish. Forunate enough to have tickets to his 2020 tour, hope it's as good as this!

First viewing, outstanding, Mr GRAY is a hugely important musical influence, from when I started listening, a folk artist to me, probably I could consider him the best folk artist from the UK ever. And that is a pretty massive f**kin accolade.
