This is Instant Pool Conditioner which as the name says, works as soon as you add it to your swimming pool unlike standard cyanuric acid (Stabilizer) which takes up to 48 hours or longer to fully dissolve and activate.
This is a safe way to go if you have a new pool that was just constructed or remodeled. I have had cyanuric acid blow back through a pool system on a few occasions when the filter also had a small leak which could cause plaster staining. Pricewise, Instant Conditioner cost more but if you are going for safety, as in not staining your pool plaster, then price shouldn't be a consideration.
I still use standard Conditioner for most of my accounts but as you can see from this video this product really works. In fact, I was surprised at how strong the chlorine level was after one week. I just poured 1 gallon of liquid chlorine into the pool and I haven't started using Trichlor tablets yet. So it held that 1 gallon of liquid chlorine all week. Pretty impressive.
MORE ON TRADITIONAL CYANURIC ACID (CONDITIONER):
The granular form can damage your pool in two ways. If your filter has leaks and some granulars return through the return line they can settle and stain the plaster since the pH of the regular Conditioner is around 2 or 3 (If you follow the directions incorrectly and broadcast the granulars into the pool instead of in the skimmer the same thing can happen). The second and more common damage I see is when Conditioner is added to the skimmer and the pool is turned off within a few hours. The Conditioner needs 24 to 48 hours to dissolve which means you will need to run your pool continuously for that time. What will happen in some cases is the Cyanuaric Acid will leak back into the pool at the main drain (gravity at work here) and form a burn ring around the plaster at the main drain. It looks pretty ugly. So use regular Conditioner with caution.

just got this for my pool, low cyn reading...some common sense and added slowly no matter what the 2 pool stores said, half a gallon,, then 1/4 of remainder, and took reading today...almost spot on...will add rest at a later date, its cooler now so not a lot of sun.....thanks for reinforcing my thoughts.
Dude ! You do such a great job on your videos on how to and expalin why you do what you do. Great Job !
I love this guy!! I watch his shit EVERY year....it's like going to Pool School all over again, for free!!! OMG - thank you for keeping my pool beautiful!!! You ROCK!!!
Ok I poured my gallon in. I have a pebblesheen tahoe blue pool. I shook it really well like you did in the video but at the bottom of the pool I'm seeing clumps (doing this at night - so it looks like when you have clumps of calcium in pool). I can brush the clumps but I won't until tomorrow because I have an "All Safe" pool net on (dual purpose for toddler / and keeps ducks out.) So when I poured it in I had to pour it through the gaps in the net making sure I don't get it on the net.
What makes one conditioner better than another? This brand is around 25 gal, where some others are upwards of 50 or 60 dollars.
No. It is just a sodium form of Conditioner. That white stuff is normal. The reason it is so expensive is because you are paying for them to process the conditioner to this chemical point - the inert form of the chemical. basically that is just salt on the bottom of your pool. Harmless. I hate those spiderman nets myself. And I charge the customers $100 per bottle ;)
sorry only lets you type so many characters (appending to message after pouring conditioner in) So just wanted to ask if it can ruin my pebblesheen/plaster surface since some of it is sitting at the bottom in clumps. Thanks.
So can I add this same conditioner directly into my above ground pool? Or do I have to mix with water? It’s got the hard vinyl not soft.
Yes - safe to add directly.
Dude your videos f&^king RULE! You are da man! Thanks!
your stupid
Outstanding David as usual.
Thank Barry. This is one of my favorite pools - customer likes blue...
Swimming Pool Tips, Reviews & How To -MrDgvb1 I have a question I have above ground Intex pool that needs stablilzer the pool store said to put some in 3 pounds with our pool it dont have a skimmer so he said to throw it in will it dissolve ???cause now it looks like its gunna have this sitting on the floor of the pool ...if it dissolves how long will it take ..its a 22fl colman Intex pool
Can you add this at any time, assuming CYA is needed? What if my pool is green? What if I am shocking the pool? What if... ?
can I add the conditioner right after shocking?
yes.
We are ready to add instant conditioner. Chlorine is reading very low. Should we add the 2 gallons of conditioner and run the pump for 8 hours and then add chlorine? Thank you
Yes, you can add both at the same time.
Awesome, Informative Video, Thanks
I just had to add some today, same bottle but after 3 years of having the pool why now though was I required to add this? I do my testing at Leslie Pools and they changed their water sample sheets and requirements. I'm highly skeptical of them because lately it's been asking for a lot more chemicals and they have their branding on all these chemicals I have never needed in the past.
Every year is a little different. Depends on pool use (splash out) and rain levels. Your CYA should be at 30-50 ppm. You can purchase a test kit or test strips and test yourself to verify.
@@SPL Thank you!!
I bought the granular one. What do run the pool on filter or recirculation?
Filter mode
How long do you wait before testing ?
Usually 3-4 hours with pool running.
I need to get liquid stabilizer bc I hate the granular i had hit. My pump has 15hrs and 55 minutes left
I have a question i have 2 different brands of test strips . Clorox and Hth brand. Why are they not reading the same clorox says my pool is loaded with clorine but the hth brand says everything is perfect...and ive had a pool loaded with chlorine you WILL smell it. So should i toss the clorox strips. Can you recommend a reputable brand for me plz
Try the AQuaChek Strips.
Got my water tested at Leslie’s and I have high pH, low chlorine. They suggested to address pH first, then shock and then add conditioner. Any suggestions? This is a fresh fill after replastering
Would say wait until day 3 to add chlorine and conditioner and no shocking for 2 weeks. So gradually raise the chlorine up each day. Shocking could stain the plaster.
It’s been filled for 2 weeks but we haven’t been able to get the pH and chlorine under control. We started with the pH being low and I guess we raised it too much that it’s now 8.3. We also added chlorine and the conditioner but within 3 days it went from 3.5 to 0.5. They suggested to add more chlorine and more conditioner
I have 2 pool waterfalls that raise my ph. How long can i run them before my ph is effected. Should i just not use them as they aerate out the C02?
That you will have to test by checking the pH after you run them one day.
How soon can you start swimming after adding this conditioner?
Within 3 hours.
Very informative video thanks 🙏🏼✅
My chlorine level was 0 so should i add the conditioner first or should i shock the pool with chlorine. I went to Leslies and they said i should shock the pool first then pour in the instant pool conditioner. I just thought if i shocked it first it would not hold because there is no conditioner in the water. As my son says "Don't trust but verify"
Do both at the same time. That is what I do.
Este muchacho si sabe....👍
It’s delicious!
What would be the cheapest way to add stabilizer to a pool? I live in Texas and have to add water weekly. Stabilizer is my highest cost to maintain the pool. I bought this product and it was 42 as Leslie’s . Since I lose it so fast I was looking for the lowest cost option to add cynaric acid to the pool. Thanks as always your channel is amazing!
Technically the CYA in the water does not evaporate out but if you do lose a lot of water it can dilute it. Try getting a 10 lb bucket of the granular Conditioner. Then, just add it directly to your skimmer and run your pool for 24 hours after adding. Don't add too much at once as it can clog your pool's pump basket. What is your CYA level at now?
Swimming Pool Tips, Reviews & How To -MrDgvb1 so last time I tested I was low it is now is at 60 ppm for 12000 gallons I added this week.
I last added in March . So I do not know if I am diluting it with adding water or what is going on.
I have see. Videos of people using a shock that has CYA in it and thought that might be a low cost alternative .
Leslie’s conditioner is not what it use to be. Usually one dose in the spring lasted all year, not any more.😡
How long should you wait to add more chemicals
With this product you can add them right away.
I got it Ipool...lol
I just bought this product for my new ipool.
Aunt Barbara Product works really good even in an "ipool." ;)
Great!
How long before we can swing in the pool after applying instant conditioner?
3 hours is good.
How come you didn’t talk about the levels? What’s low? What’s high? What’s our goal levels when is it so high we need to drain?
30-50 ppm is ideal. Over 100 ppm you may need to partially drain.
What is the monthly charge for 20,000 gallon pool?
Depends on your area as prices vary widely.
Thank you
So did you charge the customer an extra 35 dollars per gallon used? You must be a high class pool man. I maintain my own saltwater pool as I can't trust any pool maintenance companies around here. LOL none of them would have purchased this for their customers. Thanks for the instructional video. Leslie's Pool Supply got it wrong. They told me I had to pour about 16 oz. in a 5 gallon bucket of my own pool water, then pour it in. LOL
You don't dilute the instant conditioner with water, only granular...
Thank you for this video. After I pour it in I find that the bottle still has some leftover product that - for the life of me - can NOT get it to dissolve and pour out....how do you use all the product in the bottle? I've shaken it like crazy
Is the liquid better than the granular? Can you just pour the liquid in the skimmer?
The liquid is better in the fact that it is perfectly safe for all pool surfaces including brand new pools that just were filled. you can pour it directly into the skimmer. I prefer this over the granular which can potentially stain a pool surface.
Should I do this before adding salt first? My water is nice and clear but when I had Leslie's test my water they said my chlorine was 0 and need to add salt. I added salt but did not add conditioner yet. Did I totally screw this up?! Lol
You can add it now. It will work pretty quickly. Add a gallon of liquid chlorine or bleach also
Swimming Pool Tips, Reviews & How To -MrDgvb1 You're awesome! Thanks for all these helpful videos, I've learned so much!
