    I have been using Cinema 4D for almost a decade now, and find it robust, easy to use and amazingly flexible. The guys at Adobe have a lot to learn from the simple interface and customization of palettes. With After Effects alongside, I have a complete toolset and streamlined workflow that Im proud of.

    One of the biggest things that made me choose Cinema 4D over the others is the pace of development. Maxon has been pushing out revolutionary features with every release. That and the workflow is soooo intuitive.

      Are you working with it professionally or just as a hobby? Right now I use Blender because it's free and very powerful for home animation. Do you think it's worth it to pay $2000 for software?

      You need to hard study about lighting and shading. Learn PBR texturing and what all different maps means.. Then use something better rendering engine inside cinema, like Vray. Thank me later :)

      And if you have trouble in terms of modeling side, then learn different modelling techniques. Then learn about polygons and topology. Then learn all modelling tools inside c4d. Then try try try and you got the idea. At some point you can model everything that you want wihout thinking.

      +asdsaksa It isn't pointless, it's meant to teach you how to follow steps, and discipline. If you aren't disciplined in something simple like math you can never be able to work with complex things like cinema 4d.

    The video say's it all. Cinema 4d is the most artist friendly, world class, 3d application out there. Its tight integration with After Effects makes C4D a superior solution for broadcast production. I love it a little more each time I use it.

    Maya and 3ds max are programs that are designed to be extremely expandable. It will take a wile to learn to use them but they are very powerful applications that are used for tackling extremely tough challenges. In the transformers movie, special scripts had to be written to rig the characters well. C4D Is awesome because you can learn it quickly, anything you dont know is literally a right click away. It lets anyone do lighting, animation and more. Not to mention great compatibility with AE!

  • @autonomous2010
    @autonomous2010 10 років тому +18

    I LOVE Cinema 4D. While it is easier to use than Maya and 3DS Max, not everyone would be willing to put in the effort to learn this beast of a software. I am taking online classes for it and it's awesome.

      I master both (10 years of experience), Maya and C4D and I think you can do almost everything with C4D out of the box that you could do with Maya out of the box. AND there is lots of stuff in C4D that doesn't exists in Maya. And I dont mean Mograph tools. With some scripting and coding knowledge sky is the limit. So I think you are sooo wrong.

    • @autonomous2010
      @autonomous2010 7 років тому

      Maya has scripting too. Can't speak from experience on how good it is but it does have it.
      The biggest grumble I had with Cinema 4D in the past was with Bevel Mitering. The bevel tool in the past was very limited and never seemed to work right. Not anymore though.
      Modo is a fascinating tool and definitely has some hardsurface modeling benefits that I haven't seen in any other 3D program. Only huge problem is the awkward workplane shifting when moving the viewport that as best as I can tell... can't be turned off.

    I agree with the sentiment that it's vastly expensive.
    I mean, If you're going to sell software at over £2,000 for the full thing, Perhaps you guys should add a finance option where your licence is intact and valid until payment is complete, If the user stops paying the installments.. You can just deactivate their licence.
    As of right now, I don't think anybody can justify spending that kind of cash outright for software they will only use occasionally.

    Most of people believe that one program is the best (Maya/C4D) just because he was the ONLY ONE HE LEARNED at the school, and that is it. I'm hobbyist but, I check at look the difference, and one of the most hightlighted is "studio standard" and here we go again, the tools you know, the tools we use (school -> studio).

    Line mode of the knifetool does not work completely straight, The missing mathematical correctness is an issue of rounded values while
    using some of the modeling tools. It works up only to the second decimal place. Maxon has been aware of the problem since R7. I don't know why nobody has bothered to fix the knife tool.

    You can enroll in an animation/vfx school , but i guess it will be an expensive option ..the other option is to invest in tutorial DVDs and Books..I am not into C4d but I learned 3DSMax and After Effects via Books and lecture videos. Lynda and Digital tutors are great places for ordering the videos and of course Amazon is the best place for instructional books.

    Don't feel bad. That was surely not their intention. If you feel intimidated, don't worry. Everyone has to start from somehwere. Just open the program and start doing simple things like modeling simple shapes and materials. Then start looking at a few simple tutorials for mograph or rigging. It's mainly about playing in the progrtam to get a feel for it.

    The only thing C4D is missing is Fluid Dynamics, but you can use Realflow, Blender 3D, or one of a few others. Everything but Blender tends to cost more than than a little. Other than that, C4D is still one of the best programs you can buy. It really doesn't have any flaws you can legitimately grouse about or work around.

    Quickest & easiest to get good results and renders - but yes you will still have to put a little work & enthusiasm into learning the basics.

    3ds Max has ALOT of tools which is great, personally my fav one is the chamfer tool which round edges. Cinema 4d doesn't have that, only hyper nurbs which can be a pain. I used c4d first and when migrating to 3ds max can be tricky so if you haven't done anything like this, you will struggle hard because 3ds max has so many tools you can use. What i did is just type into google and just keep looking at what ppl think :)

    all 3d programs are the same and function the same way. the only difference is in the interface. cinema 4d has a user friendly interface. anyone, even a beginner, can understand the interface of cinema 4d.so, cinema 4d is better in interface than other 3d programs but the best tool for 3d production is maya. but i would still recommend cinema 4d for people who are new to the world of 3d.

    The next step is to impulse education, certified centers, etc... The product is already awesome, but it needs people to get interested on it, it can overtake 3dStudio and Maya in a few...

    Can we add effects on the cube?
    Let say the cube is moving and then some sparks came out.
    Or at least a melting effect.

    I have to agree with this video. As long as you STAY in C4D, your'e good. But if you start tossing objects in and out... that's where things get kind of crazy. I don't mean After Effects. I mean actual 3D objects.
