- Sometimes you think Breath of the Wild is a little too easy (Master Mode not enough for you?) so I thought it would be fun to do a challenge like this. Because no one's beaten the game with no weapons or no bows before. So world record?
Breath of the Wild with only bombs honestly had some insane strategies involved. Not a speedrun but oh so much fun.

Before anyone says it, it's impossible to beat Dark Beast Ganon without using Bullet-time. This playthrough was everything in the game UP TO Calamity Ganon.
What does no stamina mean? No stamina means: No climbing, no running, no swimming, no charging weapons, no taming horses (although there's a fun workaround for that one down below), etc. Anything that uses the green stamina bar is not allowed!
So Honestly, this run was not as hard as the no weapons/no bows/only bombs playthrough I did. There was more theorycrafting, cheese, and skill in that one, but this one had other challenges. For example:
How did you get out of the beginning area, the Shrine of Resurrection?
Yeah! You have to climb to get out. There was this video by Gamechamp3000 where he beat the game without climbing and found a really cool strategy to get out by pushing blocks. However, with a no-stamina challenge, I couldn't push blocks. I ended up having to clip out of the Shrine of Resurrection, navigate below the building in no-mans-land wihtout climbing, and clip back into the game. It was quite the ordeal and the opening cutscene was absolutely broken. It was hilarious
How did you get to the Bombs Shrine? It's surrounded by walls!
Metal doors and metal planks are your friend. I tried to use the metal door nearby to make a bridge, however it was too short. There's a metal plank intended for another puzzle in the lake by the Magnesis shrine, so I lugged that across the Great Plateau and it worked perfectly. I got out by teleporting back to Magnesis.
How did you get off the Great Plateau?
Fall damage cancelling! You don't take any damage falling from heights if you throw your weapon right as you're descending. If you let go of the throw animation almost before you hit the ground and then open your quick-menu to change weapons (and change weapons) you take no damage! It's a lot easier than I make it sound through text. I highly recommend you check out the video if you want to replicate it.
How did you get a horse?
So getting a horse isn't required in the least, but I thought I might go over something most people don't know about the game. You don't have to tame horses that bokoblins ride. If you knock the enemy off their horse, you can get on without having to tame it!
Those were mainly the struggles. Once you're out of the Great Plateau, it's incredibly easy to get anywhere. You don't need to climb to get to Hyrule Castle, to get the Ancient Shield, the Hylian Shield, or any incredible weapons. The only combat-invasive part of the challenge was no running. There were a lot of close-calls since I couldn't dodge some of the Blight's attacks in time (looking at you, Thunderblight). Tons of fun, and totally recommend this challenge to anyone if you want to spice up the difficulty for BOTW :)

but spotted horses dont require stamina? you just mount them and they start galloping, but you dont have to calm them down

I once was exploring hebra mountains and I got softlocked/stuck inside a mountain. Me and my gf spent like half an hour trying to get out until i remembered you could just teleport out.

@@thundergreen1133 yes, they DO require stamina mate, look it up. The *only* horses that don't require stamina are horses stolen from bokoblins, because they've effectively been tamed already. Spotted horses encountered in the wild still require at least half a wheel of stamina, and I should know- I spent my first hour of horse-catching trying to figure out how soothing worked and then jumping off the horse too early, and the one I ended up figuring out how to soothe properly on was a spotted horse, *who I still have to this day.* It cost me stamina to catch her, otherwise I wouldn't have had to chase her around for ten minutes trying to figure out why jumping on their back wasn't taming them.
And for fuck's sake, you don't even need to take my word for it- you could just LOOK IT UP, mate, it ain't that bloody hard. Hell, you could even turn on the damn game yourself and go check it out personally... Honestly, even a little bit of effort on your half could've prevented you from making yourself look like an idiot here.
to everyone pointing out the parts he accidentally used stamina: this would take hundreds of times longer if he reset every time he accidentally hit a button
The eye does open for a brief period of time. There are three ways to slow down time. Through a parry, a perfect dodge, and in mid-air. If you fire your arrow at dark beast ganon while his eye is open, and parry your bomb rune right before he closes his eyes, your arrow will hit and kill dark beast ganon. Therefore, allowing you to beat all of BotW without the use of stamina.

No. Dark Beast Ganon isn't that hard but being able to beat calamity Ganon and the divine beasts (presuming you have) you wouldn't be that bad!

I would probably low key die inside having to do this because stamina is one of the most useful things.
I hate how in master mode guardians can be like that shooting 3 lasers and also delaying their lasers to throw off your timing.

Thunderblight is definitely the hardest. Glad it only took me one attempt after watching my partner try and fail 15 times and using his mistakes and my realisations to beat it 😂👌
Stasis+ makes it pretty easy the Master sword also helps out a ton.

Leah Dragon because in champions ballad you get limited resources and stuff and you only get 10 arrows so once you waste them he just regenerates so much and it makes it astronomically hard to beat him lol

There are four ways to get that piece of clothing. Make the requested dish, meet the old man at the peak of the mountain, found in a chest in the old man’s house if you didn’t get it the previous ways, or buy it at a clothing shop.
Yeah I didn’t know that. I had no idea what the hell a warm doublet was and didn’t even get it during my entire time in the great plateau. I just used several cold resist food items. It wasn’t until like the dueling peak stables that I was like, hmm. I wonder if I could still get that warm doublet and looked it up online for different ways on how to get it. You can fix the dish, climb to the top of mount hylia, or he just leaves it for you on his cabin after the great plateau is completed
@@captainkarenobvious3087 don't buy it unless you are late game and just really want it for completion sake. It's expensive for early game and can't be upgraded for better defense. Either get it free from the great plateau (either intended way or after beating the plateau) or just skip it and get rito armor for cold protection.

I tried this challenge a while back and just found this video. I exited the shrine of ressurection a completely different way. I used a barrel and parkoured my way out glitchless. I will still do the challenge personally since I can already tell my strat was different and I plan on beating as many shrines as I can... Current target has been metal connections. Nearly beat it a few times.

dang haha you're so observant! So in order to rest the sanity of me and the viewers, if we did end up using stamina, I would go back to the point where I used it and pretend it never happened. Ie. if we started climbing, i would let go immediately regardless if it would kill me or not. I just asked my editor to edit those parts out for simplicity sake. Looks like you caught one! I'm actually so impressed

Actually, some of the appaloosa-looking horses near the Dueling Peaks stable can be tamed without any stamina usage whatsoever. Like, you can just hop on.

wow he's really improved a lot over the past 2 years at this game
For the final hit, you could glitch out of the fight, grab some mine carts, make a flying machine, and bring yourself very very very high into the air, with full hearts. Then, as you fall, shoot a master sword beam at dark beast ganons eye, and you should be close enough so he does not close it. Idk if it would work but you could try.
I was actually thinking about doing this myself, but as I thought about it I was like, “the only way to get out of the Shrine of Resurrection without climbing is the push boxes, which uses stamina.”
My son suggests you use the infinite jump glitch at the dark beast Ganon fight to get up in the air and take the final shot. Is it possible to preserve that glitch into the final boss fights?
You can preserve moonjumping until the Calamity Ganon fight (and I've tried to see what would happen if you jump back into the sanctum, it just resets the fight). It doesn't however carry until Dark Beast Ganon. Since the moonjump glitch is such a low level exploit of sorts, it carries through save files, warping etc. which means there's only 2 ways to get rid of it--completely reset the game entirely (close the application on the switch), or ride a horse. Since the glitch is abusing a horse's bucking mechanic by taming a wild horse as the mounted archery range minigame ends, the way that piece of memory in the game can be overwritten is by performing the same action. Therefore, since you start the dark beast ganon fight on a horse, it rewrites the mixed memory and essentially cancels moonjumping. That would be great if you could though, and if anyone finds a way to enter the DBG fight without a horse you could theoretically have the glitch active then!

One Time when I was fighting dark beast Ganon I got stepped on but the game glitched giving me super speed as if I was still on my horse and I beat dark beast ganon as the metaphorical flash

Just seen this video, is amazing how many challenging ways you have tried to beat this game! Congrats @PointCrow ! About the final hit in the eye to take down Ganon without stamina: How about run or ride to a certain point away and throw the arrow in a certain angle to the sky to make the arrow fell down by gravity so it can hit the eye from above?

Question: does DBG's final shot have to happen with the Bow of Light, or can it be done with any bow/arrow? If it can, normal bows have an arc to their shot, which means if you shot correctly, you could hit the eye from the ground.

I’m not sure about shooting from the ground, but fairly certain the eye won’t open unless you go into the air

The final shot on Dark Beast Ganon was one of the first things I thought of. I really hoped you had a workaround
You can use twilight bow from amibo and that bow has infinite range also shoots light arrows. Or you can use a long range bow like golden bow with ancient arrows or master swords beam but idk if these 2 work
You can also get the warm doublet by going to one of the mountain peaks, and the old man will be there, and he'll give it to you. That's how I always got it-

Bongo Fett You can also give him a dish called "Spicy Meat and Seafood Fry" to get it early. In his diary, he says that to make it he needs a Spicy Pepper, a slice of raw meat, and something else that he can't remember. That something is a Hyrule Bass. Cook it then talk to him while he's at his house and he will give you the Warm Doublet early.

Ive seen people use the bow of light for the final shot without using stamina, you might have to do a glitch though (the glitch to clip outside of the final boss does not use stamina)
