  • SOLD! Congratulations and safe travels to the new owners.
The 42 Flybridge is widely considered one of Nordic Tug’s most sought-after models. Fog Dog is a 2004 model year, hull number 57, with a 2 stateroom, 2 head layout.
With her distinct build heritage to working tug boats, her hull shape is well known among trawler enthusiasts as being hardy, strong, and elegant through the water. Lots of interior upgrades have been done to revitalize her living spaces and by stepping aboard through the cockpit into the saloon, you can instantly feel a modern touch to her. The original carpet has been replaced with teak and holly wood flooring that has been double insulated to reduce engine room noise and temperature. The large windows open for maximum airflow, natural light and viewing pleasure. The living quarters, galley, and pilot house are all entered from the saloon.
Nestled below the saloon is the engine room, housing a Cummins 450 HP diesel engine that allows Fog Dog to be easily navigated around docks with both a bow and stern thruster. Up a few steps from the saloon is the pilothouse, a wonderful place to spend your days cruising comfortably. A variety of Raymarine digital navigation, including autopilot, afford the operator detailed charts and info of the water ahead and below. Morse electronic engine controls, bow thruster, stern thruster, and a large helm wheel all serve Fog Dogs’ operator for easy maneuvering.
The upper deck and flybridge are accessed via a ships ladder in the aft cockpit. Tall safety rails line the edges of the upper boat deck to help prevent accidents. The dinghy is an 8’ AB with a 15HP Yamaha outboard, that rests on custom chocks to the starboard side of the boat deck. The dinghy is raised with a heavy-duty Steelhead crane. A few short steps up the port side is the flybridge. The flybridge is shaded by a canvas Bimini, with comfortable seating for a captain and co-captain at the helm.
Fog Dog is reluctantly being passed on to new, loving owners. Her current owners have spent many years at sea and have now decided to live a new life on land. She has provided many amazing memories for both friends and family alike, just as she will for you.

I love your videos. You explain everything so clearly and make it not only easy to understand, but you make it easy to picture owning the boat. Superior boating videos. My favorite though is the Nordhavin. That was a seriously amazing boat. I have a boat in my bucket list one day. You are doing great my friend, keep up the amazing videos.

John: Thank you! Your note is about the nicest comment I've received and is very appreciated. The boats I'm fortunate enough to film all have a different personality, arrangement, equipment, condition, etc. My goal is to let people know what I observe, just my opinion. As a trawler buyer, there is a lot of research and planning involved. Video is one way to learn more. All the best to you!

@S. M. Hi there; I'm no expert on the market prices of Nordic Tugs but this one certainly looks to be well priced. The flybridge gives her a nice bonus and the layout is quite different from mine, which is a preference. NT's tend to hold their value so again, I would say this one is appropriately priced.

I see some of the complaint comments here about the review and the price of this vessel.
However, please note. Although i don't know Jeff personally, he has an outstanding reputation around the world in regards to trawlers. He doesn't sell garbage.
Besides, if you buy from Jeff or his group, the support after the purchase from my understanding is second to non.
You are paying for not just the vessel but his expertise in the industry.
I've traveled from the islands into Canada and and even in Europe, we know of Jeff.
If i was purchasing a vessel, there are only 5 people I would consider purchasing from, and Jeff is in the top 5.

    I love Nordic Tugs.
I’m interested in cruising speed and range. I didn’t hear you talk about the main engine brand and horsepower. What’s an OK hurry up speed, and what is TopSpeed. Maybe I missed it.
I don’t care for about the 42 is you can’t see what’s going on the back deck while steering the vessel at least from the inside, not sure about the flybridge. Makes it difficult to talk to people fishing while staring at the same time a camera with audio may be helpful. Like I said, I love Nordic tugs and u did a really nice job touring this boat. I'm really not sure how you could have crawled all the way down into that engine room and not actually give any useful information. So for example you showed the generator but don't say how many kilowatts it is or how many hours is on it. You show an engine but don't say what brand it is. How much power it is, anything like that. And then you show the fuel tanks. But there's no mention of how much fuel you can carry or how much fresh water you can carry. How much black tanks you got or anything. Kind of bad review really

John: Thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it. The video purpose is to show the layout and current condition - give you a feel for this specific boat. The You Tube description for the video does inform the reader about the engine. Our goal, if you want to learn more, is to post ALL of the important details on our website. Numbers like asking price and hours can change over time so we update them online, the video can't be adjusted once printed. For example, our online brochure shows Cummins 6CTA 8.3-M3 450 HP (~2,000 hours) and Onan generator, etc. We have found that video viewers want to see the boat and move on. Trawlers buyers want to see the boat and then study the details - photos, layouts, specifications. we also have a 360 degree tour on JMYS.com. Please feel free to contact me directly if you desire any additional information and thanks again for your note.

Who uses a chart table nowadays? For charting I mean.

Chris: If you are an active cruiser and have paper charts aboard (and I believe you should) then it is very convenient to have a place to lay them out and do your plotting. In my opinion, at a minimum, paper charts should be used in an hourly lat/lon back up mode. What is your plan if your nav/com electrical fails?

Kevin: I'm sure you mean well, but a general criticism on asking price with no data to support your opinions just adds to the confusion for real buyers who probably know better than to believe a broad, unsubstantiated comment like yours.
