Limestone Interior Floor
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 лют 2022
- Here we have an interior floor using 4 sized natural limestone flags.
The slab was in, we just turned up and laid it!
The flags were calibrated so not too bad, but the bed was only 10-15mm so took a bit more time to prep the bed.
Hope you enjoy, any questions just ask

I’m installing flags into my thatched cob cottage, laying them onto a limecrete slab so I’m laying them using secil adhere cal which is also a lime product, I’m spacing the flags with roughly a 13mm space between them as it all needs to be breathable, nice job.
Watched a lot of your videos now. All to a very high standard. Nice one
Beautiful work as always. Top class finish. 👏
Paudie, thanks lad, all the best
Another cracking job there Matty, never expect anything less from you tbh. Bet it was nice to get out of the rain too!

Sweet that Matty nice little change ! I don’t still customers fully appreciate how hard it can be for out door work and how wrong every plan you’ve pre thought can go tits up what treat indoors ! I like the pushing off cuts in the mix to push the slab up 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 mint

Lovely work, your lad has the best teacher, go easy on him, your standards are way above the normal, that'll be one cold floor if no heating under it 🤣👍👏
Haha 🤣🤣🤣🤣thank you Mark, he’s doing great so far. Proud of him
Yes, UFH on it 👍
Looks beaut 👌🏴
Nice to see someone else using traditional method of pointing, seems everyone else uses sweep in tubs now a days. I’ve always done traditional and never had any come back. Excellent work matt.👍
Yeah it’s a great method, bit time consuming but great finish.
Thanks 👍
Another fab job 👍👍👍
Thanks Buddy
Another fantastic job and accompanying video. Your attention to detail and finishing is incredible, also some great tips and advice shared with your viewers.
When you're laying a multi size product that do you have varying joint widths to keep bond aligned?
Fantastic videos.
Keep up the good work.
Hello mate, thank you! Glad you’re enjoying the videos.
The joints will be 8-12 mm
I prefer to keep them tighter and you can always open them up at the end with the saw if needs be 👍
Nice work Matty I've just subscribed after Scott at Tidy Bricks channel recommended you and now I feel some binge watching coming up lol
Appreciate that 🙏

Great to hear what you do too, maximum respect to you 🤝
All the best
Good job that for a wet day 👍
Wish they were all like that mate 🤣
This looks quality. I can tile but this is a different game. I was gonna do my own limestone floor but nah I'll get a professional in and keep plumbing lol
Really good video brother really enjoyed it 👌🧱craftsmanship as always
Cheers Deano, enjoyed doing it mate 👍
You are as good as they come, what would really help you with that laying - especially with the awkward cuts, is a 'Grabbo'. Hand held battery powered sucked pad, has made my life a lot easier!
Thank you mate, that’s very much appreciated!
Not a fan of those Grabos, will slow you down too much.
Plus everyone is always saying they break all the time. 👍🏼
I know what you mean, and you do work very fast. My grabbo not broken yet and 2 yrs old. If I'm laying lots of 2x1's or even 2x2's then it's a lot easier for me to use it as I don't need to get down as low and also easier on fingers. If you ever lay big yorkstone slabs, you can stick the grabbo in the middle and attach to micro digger! My days of hand balling yorkstone are over, gave me a hiatus hernia. Also been working on a pneumatic grout injector that uses a makita compressor, so far so good and can point 25m patio in 2 hours with wet mortar and no staining - the secret trick is a leaf blower and timing. Was dry pointing for 15 yrs before finding the method.@@Brockstonepavingpros
Top man, top job. The boy doesnt have your legs
He’s just a young un
Give him time 👍
Great work Matt , a pleasure to watch 👍 what weight is your mallet 32oz?
Top quality workmanship again.
Cheers Gavin 👍👍
Another top job!
🙏
That looks great. Nice job. Question. Does the mortar have to be that thick ? or is it just to get the right floor height ?
Great kob again bud,, hope it works out with your son jacob,, speaking from experience it can be testing times 😖
I know mate, there’s a risk but hopefully be ok, he’s a cracking lad.
Hi Mat good work as normal was the screed a calcium sulphate flow screed ?
Great job thanks for putting that up, I've got to put mine down on a old bitumen screed, any advice on what to prime if with??
I use Instarmac primer 👍👍
Any idea when the pointing and mounting video will be released? Looking forward to it. Keep up the great work.
Hi mate, is the pointing with sand & cement?
Yes, traditional mortar pointing. Down on your hands and knees. If you were pointing a stone patio at your own home what would you do? Sand and cement or one of the 21st century alternatives? Thanks again for sharing your videos.
I thought be underfloor heating for that be cold your feet in the winter bit confused. looks good job 👍
It has got underfloor heating
👍👍🇳🇴
👍👍👍👍
Hey mate how would you grout a limestone floor slabs were laying them atm an near ready for grouting, we have grout master 3000 in a stone colour but not sure on the consistency to make it, would a piping bag be ideal to point them with then let it set for a few mins then pointing tool to smooth out? Or will we just use the same as this video
I’ve not used that grout mate so don’t know if needs to be mixed in a certain way?
I’d read up on it and maybe try both ways see what’s working best
Why not use quick set flexible adhesive?
They’re flags not tiles, they’re calibrated but some differ by 10mm
Mortar is best, and cheapest
mattys favourite word=STODGY :)
And what 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@Brockstonepavingpros ive nicked it now.....its now mine :)
@@seanmcgrath9167 haha character you mate. Where abouts are you from? Local?

In the divide from the other room
Hi, Dad.
🤷🏻♂️
Hi baby daddy ❤️
Hello son 🤣🙈
I am the same about them 300 x 300 I wish they would phase them out the fact that they are never 300 x 300 knacks my gaps up and my lines 🤬
If you follow a opus they are needed
Fantastic workmanship but irritating accent 😂😂😂👍🏼
I think your accent is class mate!
