is 56 amps enough haha , we are so spoiled now days, i'm 58 now and the technological advances and improvements in pedals and amp modeling, captures etc ive witnessed in just the last ten years alone absolutely floors me, and the prices just keep getting more and more affordable. to me this poly ample seems to have a certain edge over most other similar pedals or modelers in that it sounds more like a real amplifier, i cant quite explain why, but it just does. this is definitely my next purchase
It is said that Jimmy Page was a bit stuck, in the studio, when it came to recording the solo to Since I’ve Been Loving You, but someone had left a small Vox amp in the vicinity so he more or less plugged it in and without even tweaking it, liked what he heard, and proceeded to record the solo. I think some say it wasn’t a Vox… whatever… had he found the Poly amp, he could have arguably found an even better tone, but may have never found it, if you get what mean. Still, the Poly amp does narrow things down by comparison to a lot of kit on the market
That SLO bit after 17 minutes sounds very convincing, more so than all the 27855 sims of that amp that I’ve tried before. So do the cleans you demonstrated. Your playing kills as usual, no idea where you get those awesome ideas, but it’s all very exciting.
I bought one of these on Reverb from a Poly Effects dealer and then they told me that they oversold and I would have to wait or get a refund. I was pissed, so I got the refund and ordered one directly from Poly Effects. Now I'm very impatiently waiting to get mine. :)
most guys demoing clean amp sounds just shyly strum a couple of cords and then, when it's time to solo, quickly turn the gain up. so it's nice to see somebody brave enough to use the clean sound for soloing, however brief it might be. let's hope for the even longer clean sound solos in future videos...
@@ShawnTubbs Geez, that sounds pretty wild. Glad to hear your feeling better. Crossing fingers your back on track asap. All the best to you, shawn! :)
Cool! Nice sounds in there. I guess in a live performance situation you'd need a midi footswitch bank to change between presets and banks. Hopefully there's no latency in the program changes. Combine that with something like an Eventide H9 and you're ready for the stage.
There is a latency between presets. It does take pedals nicely so you could use different amps for different songs but it switches a bit too slow, in my opinion for preset to preset changes in a live setting.
When a player is as great as you… it all sounds good! That out of the way, does this thing sound as good running straight into the front of an amp? Thanks much…
@ Oh man, listening again, not just the playing but the composition in the intro was off the charts great….. So well done. Ok, let me get my composure back! Thank you so much for that reply. I really appreciate your honesty. Thanks so much!
Dude. Your playing is such a blessing man. 🙏 Much respect. SO much fun to hear you jam. Great pedal aside, I just enjoy your playing exceedingly. Thank you!! Quick question... could you explain how you are getting the drums in your tracks? What are you using? They sound spot on and are really well "played." I'm guessing you program this? Are you using a keyboard or pads? Again, thanks for everything, Shawn. Great stuff!!
@@ShawnTubbs Wow. You definitely use that program with aplomb! The cymbals sound really good and your choice of kit always matches the mood of your tunes. Thanks for sharing, sir. EZ Drummer should hire you for a demo. That would be fun! 👍
I never set my content that way. The algorithm seems picky. I don't see notifications for content I'm subscribed to.. It's strange.

@@ShawnTubbsAre you sure? For me, your channel has always been that way and it’s the only one of my subscribed channels where I see this. Anyway, I always keep an eye out for your uploads so I seldom miss anything.
From what I read though, the amps modellled are captured with AI or something at ONE setting…I guess that’s the thing now versus modeling that recreates any knob setting..:so I guess the takeaway is you have to like that specific snapshot capture because it’s isn’t as tweakable as traditional modeling…just guessing here..
Yes, an IR capture is a snapshot as opposed to a complete circuit model. I felt pretty comfortable with the majority of the amps and how they sounded. The EQ is very usable.
To bad you cant load in uyour own or others NAM captures so your stuck with the ones in the pedal and when the prize is almost the same as Dimeheads N.A.M player this is really not an option
You're such a monster of a player, and so unique. The absolute best gear demos around. Thank you good sir!
You're very kind. Thanks so much.
Splendid. But we all realize it's the player, right. Right?! 🎶🎶
He could be playing through a Quaker Oats Oatmeal Box and you know it would sound awesome!! 😂
Shawn Tubbs is definitely one of the best gear demo ers on you tube, great playing and knowledgeable, only 44,000 subscribers , come on !!!?
Thanks so much!!
cool pedal and Shawn's intro playing is grammy worthy
Wow! Thanks very much!
Hi Shawn Tubbs
Very nice sounding pedal, awesome playing 🎸 ❤ 🔥
What an opening tune!!! SHEEEEESH!!! 😵
Thanks so much, Michael! I hope you're doing well!
@@ShawnTubbs yea that was a really well done. Demo and the song.

Really tasty fusion-inspired passages. Very cool!
Great playing as always Shawn. Sounds killer
Tune at the start is awesome.
Such a cool design, love the touch/led interface.

Really great demo Shawn!
1:32-1:42 beautiful runs man!
Oh siiick! Right on brother!
Such a Badass!!!!
Awesome Shawn!
Would be interesting to see what happens if you run pedals into it
It takes pedals well.
Nice to See you back in Action, Shawn!
Hope your doing fine. Great Video, awesome playing

This is really a game changer. No non sense easy to interpret the parameters and adjust
Sounds great!! Really digging this unit! Wish it had an LCD display to show exactly what amp you've got selected... But pretty awesome as is :)
The control surface is unique and quirky, but it's not hard to get used to it.
Fabulous intro. Really cool demo.

@@ShawnTubbsmaybe different amps L/R and use an AB Box to go between them without lag might be a possibility?

The Friedman BE-50 DXL sounds killer!
I have a BE-100 DLX. I was impressed with how that capture sounded.
Wonder how well this would have paired with my Quad Reverb back in '73...well, I don't have a time machine laying about to find out!

How do the sounds compare to a Kemper, Helix, Friedman IRX, etc.? Wonderful demo as usual by the way. Killer playing!
It's very comparable to all of the above. Thanks for watching!
Does James Tyler make a range of gardening spades on the side?
that headstock wouldn't look out of place in my shed...
Haha.
Great playing and great explanation of use of the pedal..seems easy when you use it! Thank you Shawn!

@@ShawnTubbs Of course, I love your playing and tone!! Wish you posted more stuff!
Demo a fuzz face through it.
What was that chord at 9:50?
C dom7 add 9.
@@ShawnTubbs it’s a thing of beauty… contingent, of course, on context.
I’ve been searching for over three decades for that chord 😉
Thank you
The more I play with pedals the more I appreciate the Two-Rock and Amplified Nation, Dumble-style amps that don't need them...
dat der sho is pertty!
Haha, thanks Sean!
Phenomenal vid! Does it have a noise suppressor?
No
No gate or noise suppressor on this one. Thanks for watching!
🤘👍🏿
Shawn, what did you have the pedal plugged into? A clean amp, DI, etc.?
I was running direct out in mono to the input of my Apogee Quartet interface.
Impressive little box. Do you have to have your content set for kids? That way one can't chose to get notifications when you upload new stuff.

This is a little surprise, nice demo !!! Could you tell what specs is your guitar (pickup ) ?
The Suhr? Suhr ML single coils, Suhr SSV Humbucker.
Maybe a dumb question but can this be run like a standard pedal into an amp or does it need to go directly into a cabinet or interface or something?
@@Ethan-cl5rf Not a dumb question. You can turn the cab sim off and run into the front of an amp if you wish.

56 guitar amp ? Tonex one 56000 guitar amp! + com + delay + modulation + reverb ...
But no midi and only 20 presets onboard.

... it was ironic,
Poly Effects Ample 56 amp 450 euros ?😪
Tonex one + FX + ToneNET sharing 15,000 amp only 170 euro !😁

I'd rather have my five favorite tube amps than 56 fake ones in a pedal. But that's just me.
Cool, thanks for watching and for chiming in!
When will people realize you cannot get Marshall out of a pedal run into their who knows what.
Sure you can. What you can't get is the stood next to a Marshall sound, but you can get the recorded Marshall sound perfectly now
