i'm battling against some doubts and sinful thinking because I've been overwhelmed with work and study. My whole body is just in a weak and tired state but I really hope God will not leave me. I will pray and hope someone can pray for me too.
God will never leave you, beautiful child of God. We all battle with those things.
You need to renew your mind and know who you are in Christ.He promises never to leave us or forsake us.Even Jesus cried out before his crucifixion My God my God why have you forsaken me ? It might feel we are forsaken and God is not near but we have to trust in his word.
2 Corinthians 12:9
9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
Apostole Paul was in bad shape when he wrote this, and is a great revelation to know that He’s faithful even when we’re not. Rest in Him my dear sister. His yoke is easy. May Holy Spirit restore you and empower you in Jesus mighty name. 🙏🏼
God will NEVER leave you and has been with you from the day you came into the world. He’s never left your side and the only way it will seem as though he has left you is through perpetual sin which hardens the heart and makes His presence seem far from you. When I was born again He spoke to me and said he had been with me since thr time I was w little child and had never left.
I just said a prayer for you. KEEP JESUS FIRST JOYCE!

Like the other video, there is Truth in what is being said, but there is a blind-spot to the analogy. Yes He is our very life and we are spirit, with a soul, living in a body, the three are still distinctive. It would be irreverent to not do so and it brings God down to our level..I agree totally that Christ is our very life and the source of it, but simultaneously their still needs to be a distinction between ourselves (soul and body) as His creation while still acknowledging Him as our source and nature for living and giving by being life in our spirit..We have His very nature and life inside of us to be expressed, intimacy with Him, yes...but, there needs to be a distinction of ourselves when doing and experiencing things especially in the physical that are distinct from Him, as to not bring Him down to our and the creations level! While still experiencing, enjoying, delighting and communing with him while He is still supporting, loving, being with us and our life at the level we are to express and do things as His creation. I can't imagine this analogy while going to the washroom or having relations with spouse or aspects of when you are dating, or some activities with friends, and having this mentality without having a practical distinction..He is above us, while in us.
It makes sense to me. I will pray about this And ask God for guidance. I do feel him with me where ever I go. I will be careful not to deceive myself into doing whatever I want but still live for him with everything that I do. That’s the Goal right? To become Christ like. For God to complete his work in us. Letting his will be done not mine. I’m trying to peace it together. We are in a lifelong growing process as his children. I love this message though thank you. Gives me peace.
Amen! I've been living like this but having an incredibly difficult time explaining it to friends who have been raised in the church. This truth seems so obvious from reading scripture but people it seems have an ingrained need to think this is something they should be controlling themselves. Love your clear explanation.

The only verse remotely close to "putting God first" would be the one about seeking the Kingdom of God first- but doing that still does not denote that God is on some sort of list in our lives. It denotes that He already IS first, when we seek Him through faith and receiving Jesus.... therefore all of our needs- physical needs and otherwise- will be taken care of.

well actually His commandment to have no other god before Him means exactly that, to put Him first but in a way like you said..In everything we do. I agree, its not like we put everything on a list. He IS first when you invite Him into your life and live for Him.

In all the years I've gone to different churches I've never heard a teaching like this one. It's sad that the modern church has kicked out Jesus Christ and the Bible out the building.
Wow I was doing this!! It was get my devotional done then run and do the things I needed to get done rather than him being a constant in my life.
Opportunities to commune with God can come in the hardest parts of life, I've found. Such as when my ego is taking a bashing! Then I HAVE to talk with Him, or I lose the battle, and get despondent. But there is always a choice, to be negative about things (which I still have a terrible tendency to be), and to choose to let God make every situation draw you closer to Him, make you realise that you do NEED him (not just as the 'icing on the cake', but as the substance of your life.

Putting God first is what the Christ life is all about. You live out the Gospel. This video is proof that when you break off from worship you get weak and come under attack from the enemy and become yoked.

That's not how I've always understood putting God first... I've always seen it as God is so much more perfect and valuable than anything else in the world, and we should seek to be in relationship with Him and to do his will above all else. Things like Church attendance don't count, but doing his will through loving deeds like giving and prayer is good.
Bas Rijksen teaches that :-
"Putting God First Place in Your Life: A Mistake You Don't Want to Make
God does not want to be first place in your life, it's wrong, it puts God on a list, and that's insulting to Him, and it's a lie."
However the Bible, which is The Word & teaching of God, and which certainly does not lie, nor does it insult God, and God does not insult Himself, and He never changes. The Bible quotes God as being in First Place ( in believers lives ). This issue is at the "heart" of the Bas Rijksen teaching, and it's shown below to be a departure from scripture. This may be argued as a slight change, but changing The Word is serious , see below :
Galatians 1:6-8 (NKJV)
6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel,
7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.
Preachers who depart even slightly from The Word, undermine it and would do well to meditate on the whole of Jeremiah 23.

37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

I'm sorry but you are wrong you are misunderstanding God's word you need to find a good Mentor someone who has studied the Bible well and knows its Origins and its meaning God wants to be first in your life in every aspect of your life not only that he wants to be a part of your life in a huge way. That doesn't mean putting the people in your lives last as if they don't matter but if God is first in your life than God is in all of those relationships therefore he is being put first by default and your relationships will flourish and Thrive because of it

I was wondering if you could review the movie "The Encounter"? Is the Jesus depicted in this movie true and genuine to the biblical Jesus or is the movie deceptive? I would greatly appreciate it. Did you know the DEVIL used 5 " I's " When declaring himself in the bible. In other word's it was all about him, and no one else. He started one verse against God by saying, "I WILL ASCEND". Big mistake. This is when God brought him to the lowest parts of hell when he spoke against God. He disobeyed God. It's why God reminds us that obedience is better than sacrifice.

I think hes hitting on the fact that we are under grace not the law. We are sealed by the holy spirit till the day of redemption. Christ is in us and we are in Christ. He dwells in us as believers so he is (our life) not a part of our life but litteraly our life and whatever we do or wherever we go he to is there with us as believers so he is always number 1. Thats the idea or what I think he means. Could be wrong but I think I got it.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 KJV, Jesus Christ is the only way. It is impossible to lose salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9, KJV. Once Saved Always Saved is true.
All that is needed is to abide in Him like branch in a tree; it does nothing itself just abides in the tree and life flows through it producing fruits without any effort on Your part.
So don't worry if You don't see fruits, just rest in Him. The fruits aren't Your responsibility, You just have to let the life producing fluids find its way inside breaking all the blockages of legalistic mindset on its way, eventually when grace has broken through the fruit will come. Romans 4:18-22 .
God work in You is two-parted: 2 Corinthians 4:12
This leaves You in a state where You can do nothing, when You realize this, it is the most blessed state. You feel truly free. You are dead in Christ, You no longer live but Christ in You. Meaning, dead man can't do nothing PERIOD and the new life in You is Christ in You, so leave it all to Him You are no longer responsible of producing something, you simply can't because You are DEAD. STAY DEAD. What a place of rest, full of peace and grace: this is the only way where God gets all the credit.
It could be biblical depending on what you mean. If you mean putting God's desires first and acknowledging him in everything you do, it could be biblical. The problem is most people mean a list, so I see your point.

Acts 17:11 Paul the apostle was telling the church that they would receive the word of god with all redness of mind, and that they search the scriptures wherever these things are so. He's telling us today when we hear the word being preached regardless of who said it don't take everything as the TRUTH at face value, but search the scriptures daily whatever you're hearing lines up with the word of God. So whatever you're saying god doesn't want us to put him first in our lives I challenge you show me where it is lined up in the scriptures concerning what you are saying. To know the truth, you must know the word, to know the word, you must know the truth and the TRUTH will set you free.

The Lord wasn't telling us to hate, Jesus was implying if we love and put all these other things before him in our lives, we aren't worthy of him. And if we are truly serving him and loving him, he would be our number one our first love beyond anything else: that no flesh shall glory in his presence.

God commands his people to be humble and seek his face.
Prob 2:4. We are told to seek HARD for the Wisdom (presence) of God, as hard as we would searching for Lost Treasures.
Colossians 3:1-2 , 1Chronicles 22:19 (NIV) " Now set your hearts and minds to "SEEK" the Lord your god."
When God becomes first place in your life you'll begin to long for his presence whereby, you'll set your heart and mind to seek his face.
Romans 3:11 Paul writes a letter to the church in Rome from psalms 10:4, with a strong statement quoting ," There is no one who understands, no one who seeks god all have turned away."
Don't use this as an excuse to disobey Jesus. Jesus said if you love me then you will keep my commandments. What Gods wants us to do is to love him.

Jesus came to show us that we are all to be equal with each other and I don’t believe He even desires any type of worship. When he washed the disciples feet he told them a servant is not greater than his master nor is the master greater than the Servant. He came to set the bar as to what life, real love and truth were so that we would have a standard on which to base our own lives on,. he doesn’t want everyone spending every waking second on their knees or trying to be perfect. We have to make mistakes, we have to Stumble and fall, otherwise what will we gain by living on earth in the first place?

Good sermon. Believers are in Christ and they're whole life already is the life of Christ. A believer trying to put Christ as number one in his life is meaningless because Christ IS already the only, the number one life IN ALL believers. Sure, He is ALREADY by definition of the eternal life of a believer, all the life that the believer possesses or ever will possess.
So funny! when growing up Catholic we were given plastic Jesus statues for gifts.i was afraid to get rid of it and when I started comming in after curfew, and "being super bad" as a teen, I would turn the Jesus statue around so it wouldn't see me. hahahaha
This video is splitting hairs. If we put Christ first above all else then we are being obedient. There is nothing inherently wrong with using the word "first". Paul speaks of running a race to get a prize. He implies "winning". The winner comes in "first". When I access a situation I allow biblical teachings to be first in my choices. Admit it, you do the same thing. While at this side of heaven we have choices. We contend daily with desires of our corruptable body and minds. I will continue to watch Bas but I understand his need to attack every nuance of what he sees. Last winter I departed from living the double life of Christian on Sunday and worldly on Monday. Yes, I proudly put Christ first! While still on this Earth I still have choices, you do too, we all do. Let's all keep Jesus first.

To put GOD first is to worship Him and also Pray..the Bible Say's seek first the Kingdom of Heaven and the rest shall be added.. I hope and Pray you are not a false teacher.. Father GOD would not like that..Jesus warned everyone about wolves in sheep clothing.
I use 'God first' as a way to prioritize him when temptation that my flesh desires lies around the corner, it helps me make decisions with his influence, it helps me stand strong against peer pressure from conforming to this world, it helps me pray and most of all it helps me stay close to him.
God is always first, has been and will be, I see 'God first' as eliminating all that God wants me to eliminate and with his holy spirit I can. He has shown us clear examples in the bible of what a spiritually healthy and unhealthy lifestyle looks like. If things influence me daily that are ungodly, putting God first aka listening to the Spirit of God instead of what the flesh desires, brings me closer to the nature God wants me to be. That does not mean that God is not first, it's just me realizing that i am consciously choosing to obey, listen and prioritize him over something that would spiritually harm me.
Life is full of temptations that the flesh desires and if we do not listen to the Spirit things will go wrong, in order to be led by the spirit we overcome the flesh by prioritizing listening and being guided by the spirit. We have the spirit yet we still battle desires of the flesh daily, 'God first' is to me saying no to what it is the flesh wants. I think many misunderstand what christians usually mean by saying 'I will put God first'. So I really liked seeing your comment. God bless everyone who wants to learn more about him.
I think the title might be click-bait, but if you listen to what the guy is saying, Jesus IS our life, our whole life, we shouldn't be seperating off 'spiritual' parts for Him 'first'. God is more than number one on a list of priorities, He's everything. Powerful truth, and crucially, totally Biblical, and demonstrating a deep understanding of the power of the Gospel and what Christ did at the cross.

Be very careful bearing false witness against another. God is not first because if he was all the ppl he brought into your life to bless you and love you (spouse, children, friends, family) would then feel neglected, hurt abused, unwanted if you chose to take care of your relationship with them only after you paid attention to God all day everyday 24/7 You spit in Gods face when you treat others so badly. The greatest Fruit of the spirit is LOVE for a reason. God says "Love one another as Christ loves the church" How much did Jesus love the church ? Enough to DIE for it! We are to love others just as much. So in order to put God first the way he means it, is to have God be a part of your marriage, a part of your parenting relationship, part of your friendships. To follow his commandments in every aspect of your life. So they can see WHO God is through how you LIVE your LIFE.
There's no verses in the Bible saying, putting God first place in your life is a insult or a mistake.
lovexlove 1998 this is where you have been lead astray. You cannot hate your mother, father, siblings or neglect them or your relationships and still love them. Hypocrite. You are disobeying God's command to love them as Christ loves the church..how much does he love the Church? Enough to die for it. You cannot say you love God then not follow Him and do as he asks of us.
How does god incorporate into sinful things
He's done away with sinfulness of humanity all together through the succesful work of Christ on the cross. Whenever someone may stumble, He reminds them of their innocence and right standing with Him through Jesus!
