- 3/12/1999: When MacArthur Center opened in Norfolk in 1999, other Hampton Roads malls saw opportunities to thrive and expand. Twenty years later, many of these malls now struggle to bring in business.
My babies!!! Malls back then were incredible.
Ahhh the 90s!!!
That Lord & Taylor didn't last very long!
Yeah, and then it got partially demolished with it basically becoming another mall entrance with one small section of it being an L.L. Bean and another small section of it being a restaurant. Sounds like a waste of resources if you ask me. But I guess that’s business and retail.
1999: Mall expansion BOOM!
2023: Mall epidemic
I think Lynnhaven Mall is the only mall surviving.
@@BeaufortRyan RIGHT! It's like it's the Hunger Games of malls in Hampton Roads and Lynnhaven is Katniss Everdeen. LOL
🏖Nice!!👍
They all three lost. MC is headed for wrecking ball, Greenbrier and Lynnhaven are soon behind.
🏖They are actually revamping Lynnhaven. Must be new owners! 🤔🤔 Might not help. But the mall always has a full parking lot. 👍
On the contrary, Lynnhaven is actually the one that’s beat the odds. however, going to Greenbrier and military Circle is the equivalent of visiting a relative who is currently in hospice care you’re just waiting for the inevitable
