2nd case, since the Japanese demo case - similar to how Dual Destinies did it, had that kid with her being blamed for the first case.

they didn't say the khura'in is in the us. they were referring to the country where phoenix came from as the us.

That, and I think the developers have stated that the Phoenix Wright universe, at least in the English localization, is set in an alternate universe, where no anti-japanese laws were intergrated in the US (cause you know, World War II) so Japanese immigrants were able to flourish and develop their own communities. So that explains things like the Kurain Village and Nine-tails Vale in previous games :P
+Videogamefangirl Actually, it's supposed to be Japan. In the Japanese version, everything takes place in Japan. The translation team changed the setting to the US.
so from what i can gather in the trailer is
1.Full voice acting
2.Apollo justice side story
3.and weird 3d still images with the most awkward lip movement

Ater Pear Technically, MvC is where Sam Riegel got his voice acting start as Nick, which was then carried over for DD.

***** Rumors. It's because Capcom has complications with the game itself. The game is literally a story of a Japanese lawyer proving himself in England, it wouldn't work with an "American" one.

Because "Phoenix Wright" sells. In Dual Destinies Apollo and Athena were clearly on the spotlight but it was still called "Phoenix Wright"...
Because all the games that don't have phoenix wright in the title have performed terribly in the states.
Renan Ferreira I understand that from a business perspective the name of the original protagonist is better for marketing and I recall seeing some backlash from players who weren't happy with playing as Apollo instead of Phoenix in his first game which reinforces the business decision to use Phoenix' name. What confuses me primarily is why fans are more receptive to Phoenix then Apollo beyond nostalgia or preference. I should also point out that I've never played an Ace Attorney game and that I'm mostly just interested as an outsider with limited knowledge of the series narrative if there even is one.
TheMangakid1995 It is as you said, nostalgia. I would say that roughly half of the fandom play the games because of Phoenix. TheMornal said the truth: Apollo Justice and Miles Edgeworth Investigations sold so poorly that Investigations 2 wasn't even localized. The Great Ace Attorney too wasn't localized because it doesn't have anyone from the main cast in it, as well as being "too japanese" to localize. The fact is that to the major part of the "fans", thi isn't the *Ace Attorney* series, but the *Phoenix Wright* series.
Renan Ferreira That's unfortunate from what I just read on the subject that new spin-off sounds cool. The description makes it sound like it really innovates the game play.
I REALLY hope we get to see her interact with Apollo, Athena, and Trucy.
So hyped for this game, but it would be nice to see Gumshoe back :(

Agreed, Maya's voice doesn't fit her personality to me. Maybe to mature? I know she's older and all, but she's still a very carefree and lighthearted individual, hope they can make so changes to her dialogue.

My thoughts yesterday before hearing Maya's voice: I think it would be a great idea to have voice acting in Ace Attorney!
Its pretty cool how there is voices but to me the lips seem a bit motionless. I know its a dub over original but even then, the original probably looks a bit odd.

***** You know what, as long winded as that was-and as such, I didn't read it 100%-it did make me realize I was pretty much thinking more of anime dubbing than game dubbing. So I'll re-examine the issue.
* Most of today's anime dubs are horrific. Almost all of them.
* This extends to anime video games. This is why this one in the trailer is so bad. It's an anime game.
* There are some exceptions. Among them are Kingdom Hearts and FINAL FANTASY.
* You can see dub decay within a single series. BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger had one of the best dubs of all time. Then starting with the very next game in the series, most of the actors stopped giving a crap.
I essentially exaggerated more than I should have. But the majority of all dubs are still bad. Also, it's an idiotic way of arguing to just scream "weeaboo!" at anyone who may have any level of interest in Japanese media.
Now then, just going to continue playing the games for I have not finished all of them yet.
Now that I've heard the original voices I don't know if I can go back to the dub.
OH THANK GOD I though AA6 was only going to take place in Khura. While yes it will be a interesting turn of events for it to be in a completely different setting with a new really cool gameplay mechanic, I was going to miss good old California. I'm glad they have a story line for there as well.
