Those thin fins remove the back hook .. replace the front hook with long shank eagle claw Lazer size 4 or 2 add a swivel between the hook and the bait so the coho will spin .. do same with our coho spoons.. it will add 25% catch rate.. plus they clear the net faster .. slow day that's big .. with the bomber long As and bandits want to remove the front hook and replace the back two.. you probably noticed that trolling Erie slow trolling those deep downs and bandits like 25% are snagged up side the head and those pigs just pull off at times.. fixes that problem adds 25% catch rate .. see all them custom lure guys nice paint jobs but they don't play with the hooks like they should.. you never plug fish steelhead in the river without replacing the hooks and split rings adds 90% catch rate .
Well done! Cool to see folks on the other side of the lake getting into the Spring Coho bite. Also, the “add-on”, as you called it, is technically called a “Slider”. Just to expand on what he said, for anyone curious on how a Slider works, it slides down to the bow of the line on your rigger rod and stays there. Typically it’s a spoon that you’ll use for a Slider. Just keep an eye on the rigger rod because it’s not uncommon for fish to hit the Slider spoon and it not trip the rigger due to the bow in the line. So watch the rod tip. Good luck
Very well done gentlemen. I appreciate the fishing tips, and will put them all to good use soon!😊UPDATE (2/5/23): We had a great Spring chasing Cohoes, thanks to your advice and encouragement. Keep up the good work! Thank you. JR PS. When the bite slows on the Thin Fins, try running a couple Mag Lip 3.0 or 3.5” in either silver with red accents, or gold & orange. Good luck.
Very nice guys. Nice looking fish, We got 3 man limits at Gary Sunday in a couple of hrs, flat lines and 2 riggers 10 ft down 20 ft out right outside the harbor
Fished out of Port Clinton Lake Erie for Walleye last Saturday and friend caught a Coho on a hair jig. No one knew what it was except me😂. Apparently not too many in that Lake?
our coho run in the fall, chinook in the spring and fall, with summer and winter run steelhead...all saltwater returns, which makes for much more size...
Heard you talked about trolling motor died. You ever think of lithium I've been tourny fishing with interstate agm 36v. And they 31 series last all day. But now I run 54amp hr lithium they last 2 days trolling. If you ever think about it I know they pricey but I would think ifn you ever got 80 amp hr or 100 amp hr you would not be disappointed.. and mine came with 11 year warranty. Dakota lithium. But there are others but 5 year and basspro has their brand s well
Wild sockeye salmon and trout from Costco is only $20 and doesn’t require a truck, boat, boat fuel, fishing license, tackle, hours upon hours of time, heavy fishing attire, or luck. Go to Costco and you’ll save money and time. Your wife will appreciate it.
What gives? Your last comment you were asking for help with convincing your spouse that you needed fishing gear so you could start fishing now you’re trying to talk us out of fishing. Either you’re trying to get a deal on our fishing gear when we take up grocery shopping as a hobby or your spouse hacked your UA-cam account.
I went to a grocery store once. Put a sail fish steak in my cart, walked around the store for a hour, put it back catch and release it was a epic moment like a Hemingway Novel.(sarcasm). Lol

They will be here until water temperature hits the high 50s water temp was 48 Saturday
Great video! We had great success out of St Joe last weekend. Looking forward to our next outing!
Very nice!!! Thanks for checking out the video!
You should do a video on all the equipment and tackle used for coho and kings if there is a difference. I'd love to learn the techniques of fishing.
I’ll try to do that ! Thanks for watching!
"Loose drag Magee!" Haha 😄
😂
Great job guys, Thanks for the video
Great vid guys - best speed for those Thin Fins/Fish in the cooler water would you say?

We fished yesterday afternoon was a little tougher than the other day ended up with twelve east troll seemed to be the ticket for us.
Nice! Lots of boats in front of the cook so we tried to get away from the crowd. Sounds like the fishing was a little tough in general then.

Cool!👍
The lures you guys were using are they made by brads?
Yea brads makes the thin fish I believe and storm has the thin fin( I think) both work great!

He actually has lithium on his boat. I’m thinking that day he hadn’t charged it fully but I don’t remember lol
What speed do you guys troll for coho in the spring? Or does it even matter those things seem aggressive.
Around 2.0-2.3 is our average
Nice going. Good eating.
There called Sliders. Learned that fishing salmon in the 70s.
👍👍
What kind of boat are you using?
What do you recommend from the bank for early spring coho?
Spawn bags with floaters or casting spoons
do you think fishing from the harbors is good around this month or next month?
Yes the pier heads now are great for coho!
@@themichiganangler4746 I'm going up to a harbor this weekend, whaat do you think will be best to use
What harbor? From a boat or shore?
@@themichiganangler4746 waukegan Harbor? from shore

What should I do for fun then? Or is grocery shopping your main source of entertainment?
