    This was my first bike as a teen back in 1995 I've always wanted to find one for a project but every time I find one they're hammered and way overpriced, beautiful bike you do nice work

    My friend, you hit a home run with your CR! The gold excel rims set it off, gives it a works bike apppearance. I bet this bike flat hauls! I noticed zippy ties for zie fork boots. You can order all 4 metal clamps for that size boots. Think 90's xr-650, they have tons of them, for the upper and lower parts of the boot. You can keep the boots flush under the triple clamp and not have the 80's leg warmer boot look. LOL! Ps, I have his bigger brother in my garage, the 89' 250R. and its a ripper. Great Job!

    I wish I could post photos to be honest. I'm smack dab in the middle of restoring my 89 cr125 as well.

    Very good restoration. The CR's of that era take some beating. It's a shame Honda moved over to the alloy frame, the steel frame is better in every respect, in my opinion.

    Man you killed this. I have two of these bikes that I'm always messing with and buying more pieces to hopefully get the end result you did one of these days.
    Also if you don't mind me asking what method of painting, color and brand did you use on the case, brakes, ect. You really got it down..also how what route did you go to get the tank to shine like that. Its outglowing the new plastic im some pics lol. Very impressive.

    • @jkiseracing
      @jkiseracing  3 роки тому +3

      Thanks for the encouraging words. As far as color codes I simply went with powder coat on the frame. I asked the powder coater to give me something as close to Honda red or fire engine red that he had. I think I just got lucky there because it turned out fantastic. But the powder coater I use has always done fantastic work. On the tank I used a standard plastic refinishing method. Which starts out with a heavier grit sandpaper and then work your way up. Then heat to bring out the shine. There are several UA-cam videos showing that process.

    • @Junior-fd8ux
      @Junior-fd8ux 3 роки тому +1

      @@jkiseracing thanks for the info brother. Your powder guy nailed and you nailed it.. The tank looks better then the come new, must have been missing some skin on your finger tips after that wet sanding lol. Everything is top notch. Very inspiring bro!
