- A lovely day spent at marshfield motocross track, Sound a few laps on a 1989 Honda CR125 after my motos. can't wait to get my 250 build done now after a rip on this machine, Great to ride with Tom (Church) again after being his team mate when i was 15/16 years old, Definitely need to swing my leg over these old bikes more often.

Tommy you have rode the greatest production 125 ever built. Raced that bike in the acu schoolboy nationals in 89 - great piece of kit
I prefer my 95 and 99 cr 125r's over my wr 450f in the right stuff.
Nothing beats an old steel framed 125 with an FMF and a lectron 38.

Always did love the blood red 89 models. 5 seconds of God dave too.👍 I used to think you were a miserable sod, but these vlogs and podcasts have showed me never judge. why are you letting off the gas? a 125 you use the clutch, never unpin the throttle at all wide open use the clutch and brakes to control the bike, you can not let it out of the "band"
How I wish I hadn’t sold my 88 cr500. Especially as prices went mad 18months after I sold it 😆
I remember when Dave Thorpe rode a similar old CR125 @ the vets MXDN in 2011 in honour of a guy who died of fume inhalation from a generator 🙏🏻

Makes me want to get out on my YZ125! but not been off road for a while on a "real" bike just a 2-stroke Royal Enfield silver plus moped that I got back on the road after many years but when I pass a good looking byway or forest track I cant resist it! split the back tyre last week on a fast rough byway! the top box nearly came off!!! still loving dirt bikes at 58 years young.

125 may ass #24 that's Neil Carrol bike or was and we all know he loves a big bore ha ha
makes me feel so old but that's what i raced when they were new...
only issues with the 89 125 was head shake.. other than that never went wrong which was great as you didn't have to spend shed loads. This is what's wrong with MX now it's to Expensive for most and the bikes are to complicated
for average joe.back in the day if something went wrong someones dad would have a Ratchet set and sort it lol

Mate when i was 16 and this bike was new i was on a strict budget. A Dunlop 695
was the only thing i bought new in the summer that's it. changed the gear oil once every 2 months and ran in on silkolene Comp 2. And it never let me down.. ok i wasn't on it or pro but still rode it 3-4 times a week and raced in on every other weekend. Never failed on me and that was more important than anything back then lol
you just couldn't do that with today's 4 strokes

I recently Road a CR 125 after years on the 450s it felt so slow but loads of fun.
89 CR125 that was the first year I rode 125, holeshot first time out, loved that bike 🤣
