No wonder medieval swords (or swords in general) were so expensive to produce. Can not imagine how much time an apprentice would spend running a crude file over those components. Would love to own one even half as good. Great work and you have my subscription.
Great video, awesome sword. And then to think that this one is made with modern machinery, I would love to see a vid where it's all done exactly like in the middle ages.
I can't help it, I just love watching this guy work. No matter how long the videos are, I watch from start to finish. Sometimes I fall asleep but I continue looking at it when I wake up.
Your level of craftsmanship is absolutely moving, the passion is apparent from the first 5 minutes. Watching you gracefully, masterfully transform this block of rough metal into an awe-inspiring work of art was a genuine privilege. Capturing this entire process with such quality, purpose, and attention to editing was no easy feat, I am truly indebted. Thank you.
This dude has skills, I see so many people bashing certain craftsman not stopping to think could they do it themselves... Refreshing to see good video and good commentary
Thing of beauty. I can only aspire to achieve such a perfection. Surely it is a very high end professional setup with a great number of great tools... yet they found the Artist.
Making this sword is a lot of hard work but in the end what a beautiful sword. This isn't just a gorgeous sword it is a real work of art.! I wish i owned it. lol
. The amount of skilled work involved in making a SINGLE sword.... Just imagine that in Medieval times they made swords by the thousand and in those days there was no electricity, no power grinders, and no heavy power 'hammers'..... incredible the amount of manual work they had to do in those days!! Great video. I love Medieval swords, over Japanese and Chinese catanas
my grandfather was a shipyard blacksmith and used a giant steam hammer all day long from 15 to 65 . he was stone deaf his entire life in fact it was a badge of pride among the men how deaf your where meant how long you had worked there . crazy world ! your a very skilled man .
I just love watching you bring these creations to life, a talented man. Beautiful to look at and also practical. I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of that blade if that lump of timber is anything to go by! I salute you sir. I should have waited until the end of the video to comment. Substitute lump of timber for sheet metal! haha!
You either have your drill press set at a very low speed or you need a new one the way it pulls down when you use it. Nice workmanship. Beautiful sword.
Your attention to detail, precise measures and fabrication techniques inspire me to start forging myself; perhaps one day I, too, can forge a masterwork sword such as this. Maybe, given time, one even better...
Wow so perfect, my grandpa had a german medieval sword dated from 200 years ago. He buy on a auction in the mid 90's, the sword of him it's exactly the same model of one in this video.
Blessed is he who is capable of creating, I would give anything to travel to your country just to be your student. In another life you were a blacksmith for emperors, I am sure.
Wow watching you work is almost hypnotic. I became interested in Blacksmithing as a hobby ever since I read Great Expectations - pip's foster father was an incredible man and I always felt his passion for his work never reached pip - but I was enthralled
Advice for u, please make patern or just gauge line, in the edge of sword, during sharpening process, so u can get better of edge, nice and awesome video! From Indonesia with love!

I love all the sounds. The crackle of the welding, the pounding of the hammer, the ring of the hammer on the anvil, the roar of the forge. So cool.

I have a big respect for your hard work my friend
@Aun If people tell me about descendants of the Atlanteans I would be tempted to say that he is a descendant of this nation.
Amazing to think that they made swords a long time ago without all of the tools available today. Very impressive!
Division of labor makes quite a difference

Imagine how pain staking this was without power tools
lmao I think aliens helped

And thus why spears were more common
It would get less painful once you make several swords

Awesome sword man really cool.
Question for a beginner blacksmith, do you need a power hammer to start?
No, it will take a lot longer to shape the blank by hand though.
Amazing work Sir!

Yes he used modern tools. But this is art!
This guy is amazingly talented. I’ll bet it would cost up into the thousands to have a sword like this made.
Thanks for showing the Maker's Mark! Is there a personal meaning behind the symbol?
