I don't know if these count but I think that the lego leg and reverse lego are good additions to basic legworks as they are pretty similar to the undersweep! I used to watch Storm's tutorial religiously and I appreciate you teaching both the pretzel and the rummenigge in pristine lighting 🙏
When I was dancing this was all just footwork. I don’t really like the idea of claiming style moves as it’s what separated us from the power bboys. But if I was a teenager again I would probably watching this stuff religiously so I don’t want to pretend that it isn’t natural for the ground rock to be cannonized. But again in my day being a style BBoy was impressive because of what you created from your own head as opposed power which had moves which all had names. Things have changed so much, we used to be constantly walking through shady neighborhoods and public spots like malls looking for battles and it was a aggressive dangerous activity that felt exciting because it always felt like tribal warfare. Slamming into eachother or doing gainers of people being to slow on the floor was constant and part of the excitement. Now people complain because they think tournament rules are actually battle rules. Battle rock was throwing punches and gestures just inches from someone’s face and accidentally hitting kids was just accepted as a risk, never saw anyone actually get pissed enough to fight but for us kids winning a battle was something you claimed forever. If someone mentioned a crew you beat you would immediately squash it with “we already beat those fools”. It was all about credit and status only the top crews in the country got any money at all and that was maybe three events a year a couple of thousand dollars each. There was no real money it was a lifestyle of being known in your neighborhood. A lot of it was tragic because none of those kids get the money modern breakers do but I absolutely can’t stand how soft kids are where just bumping into someone or walking around someone during their set is this freak out offense to them. You constantly would see people walk around you flip over you and bump eachother and it’s what made it so full of adrenaline. Modern tournament dancing is boring and kind of humorless in comparison plus I can’t stand when people whine about natural human aggression. I remember when the first nerf football came out and even as a little kid I knew our days of being rough we’re giving way to a softness which is now so prevalent in our culture that Americans are now known for being soft. After I graduated highschool the participation trophy nonsense started and everything I thought would happen slowly emerge as a new normal. So many bboys I knew backthen were also dangerous people it’s not great or something to be proud of but we used to dance at the skate parks and the skaters would stop and watch us. They told us they wish they could that they did but always saw it the other way around, we tore muscles or tendons they broke bones and that made them just tougher. Skater culture remains street culture, BBoying seems like a middle class hobby for much of the west. I did love that documentary of the bboys from war torn countries and flavalas showing up, that’s how it felt even in California much like skating BBoying was something dangerous that got you kick out of places, it was a sport for weirdos tough as nails masculine men who happened to love to dance. At lease in America being a tough man and dancing don’t go together it felt like magic being in this space where movement and art were a contest a simulated war we fought in parking lots and run down the community centers or skateparks or just a room in someone’s house or church or whatever. And if you were a bboy you were going get in arguments battle in the middle of malls and get escorted out by security a lot. It was the most alive I ever felt and I wish I had made the effort when I moved to college to find a crew and a regular spot. Though it is for the young, there’s a film of rawbzilla limping like his feet are full of glass where he admits he can’t keep doing this to his body but he’s addicted to it. These moves like hollow backs are based on putting your body weight on joints never meant to bend to such extremes and never meant to support your entire body weight. When you meet a knee surgeon he will tell you squatting repeatedly and twist your knees at angles will destroy your cartilage. Tore one knee, severely dislocated a shoulder, tore the other knee from walking on crutches too much plus it was obviously already damaged. After that I just didn’t have the courage to throw myself through the air I always flinched which ends up being the thing that makes you fall. Enjoy it kids. It was the only thing better than girls to me remained so long after I stopped dancing. Also the worst thing I saw happen to BBoys was drinking and drugs, even pot made amazing dancers lose there sense of balance and coordination and I saw a lot of heads just stop coming to practice because they were in the parking lot of our spot smoking with their boys. Please pick dancing it is an amazing gift of Gods love and something that lifts everyone, watching people be high was just sad if you knew what they used to do before. Every BBoy brings joy into this world keep doing it and just take care of your body stay lean watch your diet and let your joints recover if they are aching. 40 year old x BBoy just trying to give a perspective. Btw I tore my knee when I was 17 if you look at most highschool and college athletes they live with injuries from highschool or college sports for the rest of their lives so don’t be stupid like me and think your too young to get injured.
Kiao, Amazing as always. Quick question. You probably have covered it already. Double legged knee sweeps, the one that is dope out of V flares and flares, actually from most powers. Need it. Also, seen it with 🥨🥨 pretzel combo. Please refer me to it OR make another DOPE AF Tutorial. Entrances AND exits being more important than the actual move!!!!! Keep up the AMAZING CONTENT. THANKS, for the knowledge, appreciate you. Shout-out from BOSTON MA USA. 😎
thank you so much! :) hmm I'm not totally sure about the move you are talking about, can you send me a reference video so I can see it? maybe here or maybe on my instagram: @kaiofalcrow :)
I think you can do that! they are the most basic ones actually :) if you rewatch the video some times and try I'm sure you can do them after some tries!
