This is definitely my favorite HJW sermon. I love how he is consistently to take an age old story from the Bible that’s been taught the same way over and over again and frame it in a completely new light. The story of Ruth isn’t one of a damsel in distress but rather one of true loyalty amongst women. Society often only values loyalty when it comes at the expense of extreme emotional labor from women to men, so to see this story told in such an enlightening way was truly awesome! 🙌🏾
I am 33 years old and “Don’t leave me this way” by Thelma Houston, has been my favourite song since I was a kid!! I practically shouted the lyrics and started dancing in my seat when I read the title to this sermon. And this sermon was phenomenally well done, I Loved it!
