    Hi guys from Ireland. Just came upon your vlogs and enjoying the fun and informative presentations. BTW nematodes are the roundworms you find in loads of fish. Grossed me 1st time I came upon them many years ago but they are harmless. Find them in Atlantic cod all the time.

    Not cool to waste that fish. That is a chance you take with grouper mainly red grouper. Hold the filet up to light and you can see them and cut them out if you are groosed out by it. Just dont waist the fish. The regulations on these fish are stiff enough seeing youtubers throwing it back in the water just gives them more ammo to make the regs tighter

    I have more fun in artificial lures myself feels like you tricked the fish something satisfying about that. Last time I clean fish in those back channels they told us we had to poke out the eyes of the fish we cleaned so they would sink to the bottom and not float wondering if you still have to do that. good to keep a sharpening stone next to you while cleaning the fish

      If I were closer I'd take all that you'd want to throw away! I've cleaned a lot of fish that had worms around the spine. Just took the tip of my knife and raked down both sides. What came off came off, and I ate the rest. And obtw, speaking of worms, roasted grub worms taste's like a cross between bacon and pork rinds. Just pull the head off, run a skewer through them and roast them. Nature's pop corn. LOL

    I don’t understand how you Florida fisherwoman (and men) don’t remove the entrails or fillet fish soon after you catch them. I get that ice slows down the deterioration of the flesh. The quality must be comprised to some degree after 4 days. We fillet our catch as soon as we possibly can here in the Northeast.

    • @Tyler-kw9ce
      @Tyler-kw9ce 3 роки тому +2

      The proper way to keep your catch on ice is to gut them and then ice. The meat will actually deteriorate faster fileted then left whole and gutted. However partyboats most likely will not allow it because it would make a mess having 30 people all gutting their fish and also it would draw in sharks big time!!

    • @chrishammer9891
      @chrishammer9891 3 роки тому +3

    • @Bridgeman-bg4jl
      @Bridgeman-bg4jl 3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the reply. I would still gut them if that is legal. I can see how that might be a problem on a party boat like that. It could possibly make the flesh worse if was in a fish box gutted in a slurry of ice and slime.
      Keep up the great content. Love the boat handling content. How about a video on ramp behavior. Lots of googans haven’t got a clue on what to do.
