Every single one of the characters in this show are so beloved by me but most especially Les. He is so childlike and sweet. The man who played him absolutely brought him to life. Just love this show so much.
@@GrowSomeLabia I believe it. Anyone of us who has worked in radio has worked with one version or other of any one of these characters. I miss those days.
And so many of the characters ARE based on real people the creator had previously worked with at an Atlanta radio station. - Herb was one of them. Grinning ear to ear after reading these comments - HOW COULD THESE PERSONALITIES BE COMMON AT FOR A RADIO STATION? How crazy that is!
@@lynntolleson6688 Oh, yes. The characters are very real, regardless of the job title they hold. One of my old coworkers in radio was a spitting image of Herb, minus the plaid suits. 😂
@@ZetaReticuli_ Now that I think about it, I worked with a Momma Carlson too...except he was a man. But he made everyone insane. He made understand what "Battered Wife Syndrome" must be like...because we all walked on eggshells around him and wondered when he was gonna blow.
Me too. Watching this show is like coming home again. To a place where all my loved ones are still alive and I had many people who loved me. It brings immense comfort.
Too bad Les lived in a time when newsmen were almost legendary. Nowadays he could make it easy: all he has to do is report on Trump and COVID-19. After that constant barrage, I think a hog report would be refreshing
Like billions of other red blooded males in our galaxy, I was a Bailey fan. Having not paid much attention to Jennifer, I never noticed until recently how her hair looks like a helmet. But, I care not, for Bailey's hair reminds me of so many of the country girls I grew up with over 50 years ago.
Maybe the reason Les wanted to move to NYC was so he could live an openly gay life? When it seemed like that was not going to work, he came out as much as he could imagine doing in Cincinnati?
People ask me why I’ve never been married. It’s because I couldn’t find a woman like Bailey and the ones I did find were already married. I’m not marrying a bishy, entitled, bossy feminist who will make my life miserable.

That would be Richard Sanders.
Omg lol when Herb gooses Mother Nesman!! The best!!
Fine group of actors.
all these years later and this show still makes me laugh my ass off.It was so good its strange it only aired what 4 seasons
yep because CBS changed their time slot 12 times in four seasons.... ratings suffered greatly..... 🖕CBS
I worked as a DJ for a couple of years, and yes the station manager/owner WAS a Mr. Carlson!😛😧
I've worked with a Herb Tarlek and a Les Nessman at various radio stations!

"Are you going to New York or San Francisco.???" 🤣
I SO have a retro crush on Bailey!!
When TV was funny and no one got butthurt.
Amen !!!
Who gets butthurt over a show?
@bongodave13 you'd be surprised how many "concerned citizens " wrote their local stations and the federal government over TV programs.
You sound butthurt over people getting butthurt
@@colonelkurtz2269 Those were usually organized campaigns done by churchy nut jobs. The vast majority weren't offended.
It's amazing Les even made in Cincinnati. But to be honest, I do like his closing tagline of "And may the good news be yours."
After the scenes in Jennifer's apartment, the melody of "Fly Me to the Moon" will be stuck in your head the rest of the day.
This show is still the best... I miss this time in history
The 70s were a great decade.

Mr. Carlson, there’s an 8 foot base with a 2 foot powder at Aspen. 😂😂😂
Love this show.
"Put on the damn hat!" 🤣😂
Best line of the script.
Chinese food joke is still true today. Wont be hungry for another hour
She flew in from Dayton, Dayton is only 40 miles away, cvg Cincinnati airport is 20 miles away
Wasn't the Cincy airport in Northern Kentucky!!
She said she took a bus.
I live in Ohio now and everytime I turn on my radio I try to find this station but I don’t think it’s actually real 😂
But there was a real WKRC .
@@user-mr3ct1dm9pstill saw them and they're still on the air just googled their website today April 22nd 2024

News today is a complete joke.
That's because when a criminal rapist like Trump runs for office, it tends to make news... and shows how stupid people have gotten.
Venus's lady friends are beautiful!

I mean technically, Herb is right with his speech at the end! 🤣🤣
Who knew Les was before his time?
Loni Anderson what a hammer. And Jan Smithers was also!
The American Mrs. Humphries.
I recognize Debbie Allen in this epiode.
Looks like her somewhat, but it's not Debbie Allen
Great show.go Jennifer.thanks.
Papers have had it - Damm
Seriously did Les have a split personality?
Thanks
That got weird at the end there. It's like they had some time left.
You can't be serious . Did you say , a closet fruit ? omg , what are you a child ?
Can you say Bates motel
Poor Les

Les dated the cleaning lady in the building

everyone is being so dumb in this I can't even watch.
I knew the actor that played les was a closet fruit.
Dude really?
you 'know' that how? because you say so?
I suppose you would be expert on comparing "apples to oranges," wouldn't you?
That was the worst-written WKRP -- show at all even -- I've ever seen! AWFUL!
Your sentence - if you can call it that - was WORSE!
