Brilliant well explained vid,,,i can remember helping my ol dad to fill his reels when i was a sprat...im 72 now and just found time to go fishing again....its coming back to me now with the help of fellas like you. Very much appreciated.
Great advice here. I have used multipliers over 50 years now and wouldn't use anything else on the beach. Smooth casting and spool control are paramount. I'm amazed how many people use fixed spools reels now. Haven't used one since 1970 😅😅😅
@ Dave barnham fishing , your video really helped my spool my Abu Garcia 7001 reel . Just done it without any issues . First time spoiling a multiplier reel
thanks for the knot. didnt have a bucket at hand but cut a 2lt plastic milk container in half just below the handle, pulled the line through the opening and popped the spool in the bottom half with water and squished the top half inside the bottom half
Thanks for this video. I was particularly interested in the knot you used to attach the line to the reel spool. Am going to be treating myself to a Penn 525, so will need to spool it up with line. Good tip about putting the line on wet. Got to find a video about attaching the shock leader now.

Excellent, thank you!
Very helpful.
Wish I watched this first. FML just spent an hour trying to spool mine up (without water) probably completely wrong.

Have you ever asked your missus to help you line up? Its not worth it. Ohh the moaning
